Wednesday, 17th March -- Happy St. Patrick's Day -- also lauded in my March newsletter you guys should be getting today -- I did and was shocked because usually I'm the last one to see my newsletter since my server hates me. Do enjoy.
As you'll see I used the photo of Peyton and Eli when they were all stretched out against each other at 4 months -- they're going to be 12 in May -- talk about time zipping by and leaving us in the dust.
In the newsletter, I asked for more title ideas -- if you have a great single word (you know the titles I like and use), please tell me. If I use it, you'll get a book (alas, has to be one of mine).
Everyone, this is a very fine day, a day made for roller blading or just plain hoofing it all around, or with a specific place in mind. Don't forget your critter and photos, for me, so I can see what you are and where you've been --

Monday, 15th March -- All right, so many of you make good points about DST -- sometimes I wish I weren't an early morning person, but I can't change now. Woke up in the dark this morning, hated it. Sigh -- wouldn't it be nice if everyone could agree?
Thank you for the names. I'm going with E. Ness.
Rain yesterday, Fantastic! We have a 50/50 chance of rain today, but it should end well before hiking time.
The Warriors beat the Utah Jazz yesterday -- and that is amazing given that Utah is the very best NBA team. Curry played brilliantly as did all the other players. They led the whole game -- it was amazing and nail-biting, but they pulled it off. Alas, tonight, they play the Lakers -- do they have another such incredible game in them 24 hours later? We'll see.
I refuse to hike when none of you guys will be with me (in spirit). So pull out your spirit and put on those walking shoes, and join me (in spirit). You can whistle -- maybe I'll hear you, who knows?

Saturday, 13, March -- chilly but beautiful in Sausalito today -- so it's jacket (with vest beneath) when eating outside today at the Cantina. Do you know, other than eating out, I have no plans, for the first time in so long I can't remember when. That is, I have absolutely nothing to do other than lollygag around and drink tea, read, watch some basketball, and pet my two pirates, tell them how beautiful they are, how brave and listen to their engines fill the room.
Our average rainfall is 17 inches. To date we have 7. This is not good. Rain is expected tomorrow, but nothing impressive. Yes, here I am talking about the weather ad nauseum since my brain is free today to be mush.
How about your guys? Come on, give me some vicarious fun. I just realized, I get to change the cat boxes -- yea! Something important to do.

Friday, 12th March -- Gorgeous day, sunny, high of 65 degrees. What more could you ask for? Well, maybe a taco or a margarita or maybe even a dancing lesson -- I look like a fool trying to waltz. Everyone says just count one, two, three, but somehow, someway, I just can't get it right. And on top of that humiliation, I can't whistle. What's a poor Motherfood to do? I guess you could throw me a treat, sigh.
Got the cover picked out for the 5th Grayson Sherbrooke otherworldly adventures novella (ebook only) -- it's a folly, looks amazing, exactly what I envisioned. When will the ebook be available, you may wish to know? Soon, since I went over the copy-edited manuscript yesterday and zapped it back in. What fun -- I do hope everyone likes this one. I haven't been to any vendor sites, but I suppose you can pre-order it, if you wish to.
Kirra (a main character) in HAYWIRE (still working title) -- is up to her armpits in trouble -- Where is Savich when you need him?
Everyone, this is your last day before day-off Saturday, so get your butts outside and go for it. Climb those steps, back straight, shoulder blades back, steady breaths -- you'll do great -- come on, at least a mile, okay?

Thursday, 11th March -- all is well, I hope, with everyone, no major physical or mental complaints, no obnoxious relatives or neighbors, you're signed up or have already gotten your shots, you're fit from walking every single blessed day, and some of you can even whistle!
Face today head-on -- you have errands to run, chores to do, some creative thinking to occupy you? It's a glorious day, yes, that's what's in the back of your mind and you're even considering having a taco for lunch and/or dinner or both. Yeah, I like the both idea.
It's outside for all of us who can -- if it's storming, up and down the stairs you go, hop on the stationery bike, get yourself buffer than you were yesterday and congratulate yourself.
Be happy --

Wednesday, 10th March -- Walking around yesterday, whistling (well, trying to, never got the hang of it) between showers -- and I just stopped and looked around and realized it's so great to be alive and to live on this beautiful earth. So you stop a moment, forget any stress, forget any upsets, forget how you don't really feel all that great at the moment, and simply stand at your window and look up at the sky. Doesn't matter if it's grey or black or bright bowl blue with incredible clouds -- it's all around you and you realize you are blessed. There's so much that's bigger than all of us, try to be part of the "bigger" yourself for a little while. And take a deep breath. And then, of course, you go skipping out of your house (with or without your critter) and walk for a mile or two -- can you whistle?

Tuesday, 9th March -- The winner of: How do scientists keep their breaths fresh? Experi-mints or experiments -- either one. Many of you nailed it, but the very first person with the right answer was Carolyn Edel. Congratulations.
It's raining a tad right now, wonderful, keep those hills nice and green, don't want to see any brown until August. Maybe we'll get about an inch. Any amount is welcome.
Are you guys still freezing your tushies off or are things leveling off and heading toward the warmer end of the scale?
I have a favor to ask: My precious sister-in-law Leslie caught COVID -- she's at home after receiving the monoclonal antibodies -- and of course miserable -- her lungs are okay after that treatment. So, please send off those prayers and best wishes.
Today, if it stops raining and the ground dries out a bit, it'll be a lovely "loop" walk -- about 2 miles of forest -- what about you guys? Go someplace you haven't been before, or lately, and take photos. Okay?

Monday, 8th March -- I hope lots of you saw the NBA all-stars last night -- it was lots of fun -- Curry won the 3-point contest and made 8 three-pointers in the game. Giannis got the MVP, he was 16 of 15, including 3 threes. It was great to see all these competitors playing together, the laughs, the smiles. The was the first time LeBron was playing WITH Steph Curry -- Even the losers had a blast --
Today is a huge conglomeration of things coming to pass -- work this a.m., of course, got an idea on how to proceed, thankfully,. then it's out and about seeing first this person, then that, then walking and breathing in the fresh sweet air -- I would expect no less of you guys. If it's above 50 degrees, out you go, run errands (with your mask on, of course), and walk to and fro and breathe in deeply -- spring's just around the corner and soon we'll be there. I can't wait to see my gardens come May -- I'll post photos and I hope you'll do the same for me.

Sunday, 7th March -- Yesterday was scrumptoulous -- Bright, sunny and a lovely March nip in the air. Who cares if you wear a sort of coat outside at the Cantina? I hope all of you have a place like that so you can go out and be among people and stay safe and enjoy someone's cooking other than your own.
Today is a nice hike, then this evening is the NBA All Star game. It's difficult for me, but I'm for Team LeBron. Why? Because Steph Curry is playing on his team.
I hope all of you will do something a little bit special today and do it with joy.

Saturday, 6th March: Answer to the riddle: And the husband said, "I found the remote."
Many of you got that one right on, but the very first was Donna Langford Holmes. Many of you had other answers to the riddle, most of which were hilarious, but alas --
What a yummy day -- as I'm writing you, I'm looking out at a sunny sky and Alexa just told me it'll be a high of 60 degrees. It's CANTINA day! Now how about you guys? If it's not tacos for you, do go out and do something that makes you happy, maybe like fried chicken or green onion pancakes (Chinese) or sushi (Oh dear, I can't believe I wrote that, thank heavens it sounds better than raw fish.) Long ago when I was hired by Sony to teach English in Japan, I'd be invited to people's homes and of course since it was a treat the usual dinner was, you guessed it, SUSHI. I lost a lot of weight in Japan, came home a 96 pound weakling.
No walk today? Well, you're going to out shopping, hopefully, seeing what's cooking, visiting, and BEING SUPREMELY CAFEFUL even if you've had your vaccine shots -- Life is good today, and if you're in a -50 degrees place, whimper once, then think about what will make you smile and do it.

Halloween's coming up fast, the day the zombies burst out of the ground and terrify the crap out of us, not to mention eat our candy and eat our brains.
Update on BOMBSHELL, the 17th FBI Thriller: I'm nearly finished with the edit. The cover is very cool, explodes with eye-popping color. BOMBSHELL is set in Maestro, Va., (the setting of the 10th FBI thriller, POINT BLANK) and in Washington.
JEWEL OF THE LION (first thriller in A Brit in the FBI series partnered with J.T. Ellison). JEWEL moves fast and you don't know what's going to happen on the next page, and you're biting your toenails or a zombie's toenails. J.T. is an excellent plotter and that means when we brainstorm no plot gets left behind.
Alas, no kids want candy enough to crawl up our oxygen-deprived steep driveway, and the sad thing is, I still have a big bowl of candy, every year, but no one comes, not even the zombies with brain bags.
Take care, Catherine
