Friday, 29th January -- Work today involves coming up with all sorts of ideas for the 26th FBI thriller. Keep your digits crossed I come up with something fun and scary and complicated -- those are sort of my criteria.
What are you guys up today? If you're not on a waiting list for the vaccine, go online, be sure you find out all the ins and outs of your own community, e.g., where they're giving the vaccine, how to sign up. Speak to your doctor, ask the same questions. But the most important thing, since everywhere is different is to KNOW THE RULES WHERE YOU LIVE, that is, the priorities and where you fit in..
Today, the sun is shining, the HUGE stores predicted didn't really materialize, but we've gotten lots of much-needed rain. Again, we have rain one day, sunshine the next -- this is excellent. One of you emailed me terrified I'd been washed away (according to CNN). No, all is excellent here.
Everyone, a minute of your walk for me, it would be appreciated. Okay, now, tell me who you want to win? The Chiefs? or The Bucs?

Thursday, January 28th -- I only have a bit of a sore arm today after the first vaccine shot. I cannot emphasize enough how great all the people were, how perfect the organization was, very efficient. So keep going online, checking, checking -- let me know if your governor has laid out the distribution rules or left it up to each individual county. In California, we're in each individual county. Of course some counties have idiots making the decisions, there was a glitch here with a major idiot until wiser heads prevailed. So all is moving forward. It's simply going to take time. There's talk that J&J will be approved in a couple of weeks. This is the old technology, which is okay, and they're touting 90% efficacy (we'll see after all test results are in) and you only need ONE SHOT. There's lots of discussion about giving out the J&J to all those between 20 and 50 --fast and done. This is important because of the whole "Herd Immunity" deal -- it's said that if you have 80 per cent of the population vaccinated then the virus is halted in its tracks., can't spread anymore and simply dies out. What do you think?
Finally, finally, restaurants in CA. are open again for outdoor dining, and guess what? HEAVY STORMS -- oh well, they'll stop, and it'll be tacos again in the sunshine. This is because all the cases have dropped significantly (the rise likely due to all the people visiting family and friends during the holidays.
When you comment about how everything is going in your area, please give me your location, otherwise I'm sort of shooting arrows in the dark.
Everyone who can, OUTSIDE, do not hesitate, do not make excuses (I have to wash my hair), nope, get out there and move. Toss me a minute, okay?

Tuesday, 27th January -- Got a call last night -- going in this morning to get the first shot of vaccine. The thing is, of course, the more people who get the first shot will have to have the second shot between 3-4 weeks after the first, which means given that the county gets the SAME amount of vaccine each week, which it will, there will be fewer and fewer people getting their first shot because more and more people must have their second. Does that make sense? Did I say it right? Johnson & Johnson is up for approval right now, if approved that's more vaccine availability. Right now, of course, they're running at FULL CAPACITY, that is, it's simply not possible for them to make more vaccine, so people under 65 will be waiting until when? The end of the year? You guys do the math and let me know. In any case, it will happen. It'll be interesting to see which comes first -- everyone in the world vaccinated or the virus simply stalls out and leaves the planet. Your thoughts?
RAIN here, which is wonderful -- pausing right now, soaking in -- then will start up again.
Doing the final read of THE RED WITCH OF RAVENSTONE FOLLY this morning, then it'll go off. YEA --
No walk to me today, not in the rain, so if you're out there, being virtuous, please send me a minute.

Tuesday, 26th January -- Everyone, go watch Gronkowski (the Gronk, tight end, Bucs, used to be with Patriots) on YouTube -- The Masked Singer -- He is wonderful -- sigh, if only I were young, I'd go after him in a heartbeat (well, and not married). He's fun-loving, always ready to laugh and joke -- did you see him dancing in the locker room after the game Sunday?
Chilly here with a HUGE storm coming -- All the local newspeople/weather people are either complaining about how we'll have a drought, not enough water to keep the reservoirs full, etc. etc. -- then when a storm's coming, like now, and it's "oh goodness, mudslides! Horrors, what will we do?" We'll see. I love the rain, only you can't go out -- well you can, if you're nuts.
Everyone, SBB and walk up and down those stairs, the best way to exercise in your house. No stairs, ranch style? Then you walk from one end to the other until you collapse. That should do it.
Stand tall -- move ONLY your neck to the far left then slowly back to the far right. Don't move anything else. Do this several times, then make a half circle, under, then above -- talk about snap, crackle, pop -- this should be daily, folks.

Monday, 25th January: Hope everyone's team(s) won yesterday. Needless to say, I'm very happy Tommy and the Bucs are going to the Super Bowl -- and it's in Tampa Bay, first time in history the team playing is in the home stadium. We'll see what happens. It's also interesting that both the Green Bay Coach and the Bills' coach really blew it, the Packers -- why didn't he allow Rodgers to try for the touchdown rather than kick the field goal, very nearly a guaranteed way to lose the game? Amazing mistake. If I were Rodgers, I just might pay the zombies to visit him at midnight for a little meal. And the Bills coach -- one field goal after the other, when it was obvious to the meanest intelligence that touchdowns were the only way to win, otherwise it didn't matter. Oh well -- I wonder what the fallout will be for them. I honestly believe the Bills would have had a shot if not for the coach's decisions. And the Packers -- who knows? Rodgers is great.
So, I came out 1-1. To date, I'm 63-34. How about you guys? Now we wait until Feb. 7th -- and then we'll close it out and see who's the big winners this year.
Everyone, join me (in spirit) on a lovely walk in the Marin Headlands, can't beat that -- take photos, show me where you're walking. If you have to drive 15 minutes for some real beauty, do it, I do --

Sunday, 24th January -- Here we go:
l) Bills over Chiefs
2) Tommy and the Bucs over Packers
Yes, yes, I know, it'll be freezing and snowing in Green Bay and the Packers will wallow in it and the Bucks will run screaming.
Yes, yes, I know, Mahomes will butcher the Bills and roast them for barbeque
Everyone -- raining today, so no guilt watching football all afternoon -

Saturday, 23rd January --- I was wrong, both play-off games are TOMORROW, beginning in the west at 12:00 -- So get in your picks, don't dawdle.
It isn't raining today. Usually I never walk on Saturday, but what with the rain yesterday and the games tomorrow, what's a poor person to do? The answer: WALK. on a Saturday, a new experience.
If you fit this profile -- or not -- then you're with me, walking or driving somewhere really cool close to you and taking off, letting your feet do the work., sucking in that wonderful fresh air, thankful you're alive and moving. Take photos, okay? Show me the beauty around you.
The Red Witch of Ravenstone Folly is all done -- another go-over then one reader, then it's off. YEA! And then what, you ask? Well, then it's on to the 26th FBI, out in 2022 . Oh yes, my new editor really likes VORTEX so that makes me feel VERY good indeed. We'll see if he wants any edits.
l) shoulders up to your ears, then pull back hard, then drop, repeat 12 times.
2) arms straight out to your sides, bend hands back, roll backward 12 times, then forward 12 times, repeat until you really feel it.
3) STAIRS -- SBB!!!
Go forth on this beautiful calm Saturday, forget all the crap going on with the vaccine in your area, and big smiles out of everyone, and speak to people.
Oh yes, Peyton leaves The Beard in the dust--

Friday, 22nd January -- Sigh, still no sign up for me yet for vaccine. How about you guys? Are you vaccinated? Nearly vaccinated? How would you rate your area for efficiency?
Okay, everyone has made their play off picks, right?
Today I'm still reworking the ending to the novella -- making it wilder, which it needed. My first go at it was so boring I nearly fell asleep.
Had a great 3 mile hike -- yes, that's right, 3 miles -- believe me, it was unintentional. We had only done that loop once before and forgotten it meandered through woods and streams and even very near New York City (okay, that's what it felt like), but came home feeling extra virtuous and dead on the kister. (sp?) Where did you guys go? Any photos?
So what will you do on this gorgeous day? Other than walking, running, dancing, skipping -- you get the idea, and no, I will not shut up. Polish off the weak with really tired muscles and your reward will be the two play offs with chips and salsa.

Thursday, 21st January -- hard to believe how fast time is flying. Do you guys agree? Whoosh -- it's nearly through the week again.
Okay, play-off picks:
l) Bills over Chiefs (Big Heart pick)
2) Bucs over Packers (talk about no a lock on either one -- all depends on how the QBs play
So make your picks and buy your chips and guac and salsa and get ready to settle in for that I hope are two very exciting games.
I have a friend in Pennsylvania who occasionally sends me limericks. This one is really cute:
Mary had a little sheep
And with this sheep
She went to sleep
The sheep turned out to be a ram
And Mary had a little lamb.
If you're not chuckling, go have your coffee and perk up your funny bone. Everyone, no excuses, no trying to get away with "I need to clean out my sock drawer "or "I need to pull weeds" -- You can do both -- and walking/hiking is the best for your beautiful self, you know it. Too, your feet do like fresh matching socks.

Wednesday, 20th January -- So here's the trick -- if there isn't a blue check next to my name then someone's trying to scam you by pretending they're me. And I wonder how Facebook knows whether or not you're authentic or not. Who can tell me?
Gorgeous walk down to Rodeo Beach yesterday, the Tennessee Point Trail along the ocean -- about 2 miles round trip and so beautiful it simply doesn't matter if you even walked the same trail the day before -- always different -- Take a gander at the photo.
Signed up with another vaccine site -- shouldn't be too long. How are you guys doing? Vaccinations moving right along where you are? Try not to be too impatient, though it's really hard when you hear about all the ridiculous decisions and snafus -- we'll get there.
Stand straight, face a good distance away and walk heel to toe slowly. This is for balance and good for every living being -- if you fall off the straight line, do it again. Make this part of your daily workout routine. If you have problems and need balance, stick out your arms (You see tight-rope walkers using their arms for balance) -- otherwise just keep at it. Outside, outside, that's my refrain and I'm sticking to it. I want to see photos where you walk, maybe selfies in front of a HUGE ancient tree.

Halloween's coming up fast, the day the zombies burst out of the ground and terrify the crap out of us, not to mention eat our candy and eat our brains.
Update on BOMBSHELL, the 17th FBI Thriller: I'm nearly finished with the edit. The cover is very cool, explodes with eye-popping color. BOMBSHELL is set in Maestro, Va., (the setting of the 10th FBI thriller, POINT BLANK) and in Washington.
JEWEL OF THE LION (first thriller in A Brit in the FBI series partnered with J.T. Ellison). JEWEL moves fast and you don't know what's going to happen on the next page, and you're biting your toenails or a zombie's toenails. J.T. is an excellent plotter and that means when we brainstorm no plot gets left behind.
Alas, no kids want candy enough to crawl up our oxygen-deprived steep driveway, and the sad thing is, I still have a big bowl of candy, every year, but no one comes, not even the zombies with brain bags.
Take care, Catherine
