Monday, 29th December -- NFL Week #16:
mama didn't go good this week: I'm 1-4
To date: 51-29
At least the Bucs kicked big butt
I didn't post yesterday -- too much going on here -- Eli will be fine, but lots of time at the Emergency Vet and let's not go there. Phew!!!!
Everyone, I know you're all aware of the new virus strain -- Japan has closed its borders, people from England aren't allowed in just about anywhere, some airlines are demanding to see a neg. covid test -- on and on. Okay the vaccine is HERE all over the world but it's going to take time. All of you aren't about to go out and party on New Year's Eve -- but if you have teenagers, grand-teenagers -- bribe them to stay inside, this is very very scary. Oh yes, good luck with the teenagers.
It's raining here, which is great, but that means no walk today. How about you guys? I know the big storm is heading east -- let me know what's going on.
Everyone -- I hope you had a wonderful Christmas in your bubble and good Zooming with family.
Send me smiling photos, please -

Saturday, 26th December -- Sorry I'm so late -- had to take Eli to the vet -- his blood work is clear, but he stopped eating, always worrisome -- we'll see. Anyway, he's 11 so stuff happens when a cat (and people) get older.
WEEK 16: NFL
I started 0-2 -- The Saints beat the Vikings
2) Bucs over Lions -- Bucs won, and I always pick the Bucs so I hope you'll give this one to me.
3) Arizona Cards over 49ers -- this one is going on now and the 49ers are playing really well.
4) Browns over Jets
5) Eagles over Cowboys
GOOD LUCK. Everyone
I'll keep you posted on Eli --

Thursday, 24th December: It's here, Christmas Eve -- what a wonderful day, a day to start widening your smiles for all those around you.
Facebook has this algorithm, I guess you'd call it. If I get three hundred "comments" they ALWAYS only show about 50-60 max, so if you write me a comment and you don't hear from me or have a "like" it means Facebook didn't put you in my comments section.
Small Christmas party here today with Baked Alaska (never had it before) and presents and singing Christmas carols and just being happy.
Happy is a wonderful thing. Rev up your happiness meter beginning today, all right? And spread it to everyone around you.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE.

December 23, 2020

Wednesday, 23 December -- Time's moving faster and faster -- Everyone all set for Christmas? Who is cooking turkey? Those of you in Australia, is it lobster? Tell me your favorite Christmas meal. Is it a tradition from say your parents, grandparents, King Henry VIII? Now, given there are 3 football games on Christmas Day, what will you do?
All goes well here, exciting things are happening in Grayson Sherbrooke's world --
Everyone, no matter your circumstances, no matter your limitations, this is Christmas. I want you to practice singing carols and splitting your face with a huge smile.

Tuesday, 22nd December -- Can you believe it? CHRISTMAS is on Friday -- amazing
Alas, no super big Jupiter/Saturn star last night -- no stars at all, lights from SF plus the moisture in the air. Am going to UTube, see it there. Who saw it?
I know things are weird this year, so you'll have to think how to make Christmas special. If you're not into Christmas carols, there's Charlie Brown's Christmas songs I already told you about, all sorts of Christmas specials on TV -- One really good thing -- lots of football -- Thursday, Friday, Sat. and Sunday -- I'll look everything over and post picks tomorrow or Thursday morning.
Gorgeous walk yesterday to Kirby Cove -- you saw the photo -- when the sun is shining on the water, it really is incredible.
I'm loving the photos everyone is posting -- KEEP IT UP.
Today we're hiking to Bonita Point -- it's sort of lands end in Marin -- I'll take a photo and post it manana -- There's a light house there, but you can't go in.
Everyone, pause three times today and think about everything good in your life. You can even do this on your walk/hike.

Monday, 21st December: Happy Winter Solstice -- shortest day of the year.
IMPORTANT: Tonight, one hour after sunset, look to the southern sky -- Jupiter and Saturn are as close as they've been in 800 years. One huge gigantic star -- don't miss it.
WEEK 15 NFL RESULTS
1) Thursday night -- BOO -- The Chargers beat the Raiders
2) Bills beat Broncos
3) Bucs beat Falcons
4)Titans beat Lions
5) Browns beat Giants
4-1 this week. To date: 50-25
Gorgeous and quite chilly here in Sausalito -- a nice big hike today up on one of the hills. What is your waling/hiking destination today? Make it a mile, at least, okay?

December 20, 2020

Sunday 20th December -- What a gorgeous day -- does everyone agree? It's not only football, I'm trying not to nibble all the Christmas goodies that have been arriving in the mail. Those of you who've sent me Christmas cards -- THANK YOU -- I always put my cards up to frame windows -- I'll post a photo -- they're beautiful.
Are all your gifts wrapped and under a tree that make you smile and be grateful you're here and it's Christmas and the vaccine -- both of them now since Moderna was approved -- is making its way through the population? I found myself thinkin about The Outer Banks next June -- IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN, IT IS!!!
So, spirits rise, please, make sure everyone around you is super careful . Okay, Week 15:
l) Thursday night -- Raiders lost to Chargers -- BOO -- 0-1
2) Bills beat Broncos yesterday 1-1
3) Titans over Lions
4) Bucs over Falcons
5) Browns over Giants
GOOD LUCK!

2) Bils over Broncos (Bills looking GREAT)
3) Titans over Lions (when I pick the Lions they always lose, so now they've got a leg up)
4) Bucs over Falcons (Who knows which Falcons team will show up?)
5) Browns over Giants (with the Giants looking ike a real team, this will be a good game)
GOOD LUCK, EVERYONE
IMPORTANT: PAULA SMARTT, MAG SIL AND NANCY JONES -- PLEASE EMAIL ME AT READMOI@GMAIL.COM WITH YOUR HOME ADDRESS OR YOU WILL BE UNHAPPY
IT'S LOCKDOWN TIME AGAIN, SO PLEASE, PLEASE BE CAREFUL, PROTECT YOURSELF AND YOUR FAMILY. I KNOW, I KNOW, PREACHING TO THE CHOIR.
It's cool here and sunny which means a lovely hike today. Where to go? You'll be outside with me? Keeping strong, fit and beautifully muscled? Please do and snap photos.

December 17, 2020

Thursday, 17th December -- Christmas is coming closer and closer and the tree is so gorgeous -- if you haven't put up anything, then DO -- you deserve it.
NFL Week #15:
Tonight, Thursday football game:
1) Raiders over the Rams
2) Saturday -- Bills over Broncos
3) Bucs over Falcons
4) Titans over Lions
5) Browns over Giants
Nearly non-stop football -- two games on Saturday, then the regular Sunday and Monday games. It's predicted the play-offs are going to be a mess. Will they bubble? Who knows? Covid is going crazy everywhere, the football players aren't exempt.
Vaccinations have started. Moderna should be approved today or tomorrow and distribution is ready. If you're in a vulnerable group, do keep checking with your doctor.
All is good -- no rain yesterday or today -- so more hikes here and about. What happened with the Nor'-Easter?
Everyone, stand in front of a window (so you can see yourself) or in front of a mirror, arms straight out to sides and ROLL them forward, twelve times, then back -- do this until you feel the burn. You will feel super virtuous, I promise you.

December 16, 2020

Wednesday, 16th December -- more rain tonight -- yea! -- we can still go hiking this afternoon. Lots of you are going to get slammed by a nor'easter (sp?) -- what exactly will this mean? Like 40 feet of snow? What exactly? And everyone is out buying toilet paper? A precious relative sent a huge box, filled with paper towels, T.P. Clorox and other survival goodies -- Now that's a cool idea. And all will be used.
I forget to sleep in this morning -- a tradition the morning after I send off a novel. Well, drat. But Grayson is calling, so that's good.
All of you, if the crappy weather hits you hard, hunker down and eat popcorn and guzzle hot chocolate. Otherwise, you're tromping the hills with me, all right?
I've upgraded my wins-losses with the NFL games -- both Terri and Carol are trying to keep me on the straight and narrow. BIG NEWS: There are two games on Saturday, three on Sunday, one of Thursday night -- so tomorrow, I'll post both the Thursday night game and the 4 this weekend.
