Tuesday, 17th November. I'm 4-1 this week (number 10) -- Again, thank you, Titans, for fouling yourself into a loss. To date, I'm 32-18.
Vikings/Bears -- Foles was injured, as you know, hope it isn't bad. Have you noticed how many injuries there are in football each week? And Brees, cracked ribs, punctured lung and they're saying 2-3 weeks? Who's going to take that bet? Do you think football is simply too violent? If so, what should be done?
Working on VORTEX -- last chapter today -- then it's the Epilogue, going through the whole book again, and then I'll get drunk as a skunk -- well, that's a lie but it sounds appropriate, doesn't it? This book has been a real challenge.
It's going to RAIN TODAY -- in about 3 hours, can't wait, dump maybe a half inch. We'll see it, I'll believe it when I'm soaked to my toes.
Outside, guys, no procrastinating -- chins up, walk around the neighborhoods, check out what people are doing with outside Christmas decorations (Yep, already started) We're putting up Christmas lights this weekend -- Bring a smile, that's the ticket.
Did two miles yesterday, lovely hike -- I'll post a photo of the view -- I'm thinking your dog or your neighbor's dog of the grocer's dog would LOVE to go for a walk with you --

November 16, 2020

Monday, 16th November -- It's come to pass that I make homemade pepperoni, black olive, onion pizza every Monday -- everyone cheers when Monday rolls around -- It is pretty phenomenal and no, it's a secret -- only difficult thing is getting casing off the pepperoni stick and that's a pain.
From yesterday, I'm 3-0. Tonight tells the tale -- Vikings over Bears. I ALWAYS go with the Vikings and most of the time they tend to let me down. And I like the Bears. We'll see -- If Vikings win, I'll be 4-1 (thanks big time, Titans, for falling apart), my best so far this season. How are you guys doing?
Today I'm reworking the last chapter of VORTEX -- YEA! Then it's the Epilog, one final go-through, then off to my editor. By Wednesday, all done -- another huge yea.
What are you up to today? Tell me your most important project/chore/job you have to do. What do you think about it?
Gorgeous here in Sausalito -- high today of 69 degrees which means a beautiful walk.
And that brings up the subject of -- yes! -- your daily exercise. If you can get outside, GO. If you can't, you're going to make a gazillion trips up and down the stairs. Let me know --
A beautiful day ahead of us --

November 15, 2020

Sunday, 15th November -- Can you believe it? November is already halfway down the tubes. It's officially now the holiday season. And today? After Taco Saturday (oh blessed day), it's wrapping Christmas presents and watching football, ALL DAY.
Week 10:
1) Colts beat the Titans
2) Raiders over Broncos
3) Vikings over Bears
4) Bucs over Panthers
5) Browns over Texans
Now here's the trick: Treat these holidays just like you did last year. Excitement, joy, maybe even a bit of stress since there's so much to do, and even though you can't hug family members not close by, talk to them via zoom. Plan great meals, smile at your decorations, in other words, chins up -- our very odd and scary life now is as good or as bad as we choose to make. it. These are the holidays, please choose good.

November 14, 2020

Saturday, 14th November -- Who's decorated for Thanksgiving? Or did you pass Go and proceed directly to Christmas? Well, I'm all Christmasized in my office and up in my bedroom -- The top floor waits until after Thanksgiving, the 26th. Amazing, only 12 days away, nearly like the 12 Days of Christmas, but not really. Getting a grip here.
Week 10:
1) Colts already beat the Titans. I'm already 0-1.
2) Vikings over Bears
3)Raiders over Broncos
4) Bucs over Panthers
5) Browns over Texans
May the Team that shows up wins~!
Hiked for an hour yesterday, then the rains came. I was hopeful, raised face to the skies and cheered, but alas, it wasn't bunches, just a sort of passing fancy. Got a bit rain more last night, enough to thoroughly wet down the delivered boxes in front of the garage so much that the raccoons ate into one and were rewarded -- candy, cat treats, bars of soap, which they kicked aside -- I hope raccoons aren't allergic to chocolate like dogs are, I'd hate to have them in the woods with a stomach ache.
Today it's -- YEA -- The Cantina. No more rain, sunny skies and even though you'd freeze off your tushy right now, there'll be a high of 60 degrees. Perfect taco-munching weather.
If you don't have taco plans, you'll need to find another high point for your day. Any ideas?

November 13, 2020

Friday, 13th November -- Wow, at last, rain, actual rain, is predicted for this afternoon. 60% chance -- so if you happen to stand quietly somewhere, do a little hop, a little dance, to boost that up to 100%.
Well, I started week 10 just like week 9 -- 0-1. The Colts' special team did a number on the Titans. First half belonged to the Titans, then it was all downhill. The poor field goal kicker (he was with Fed Ex, a driver) was brought in when the reg. kicker couldn't get it done). He shanked a punt -- 13 yards. Then, bless his heart, he got a field goal blocked. He did not look happy.
WEEK 10 PICKS:
l) Browns over Texans
2) Bucs over Panthers
3)Raiders over Broncos
4) Vikings over Bears
All should be good games. I'll put them up again tomorrow for those of you who haven't yet had your morning coffee and are thus semi-comatose.
Walked yesterday -- 3 miles, flat -- Gerbode Valley to Rodeo Beach (pronounced RO DAY O) -- the photo I posted is of the lagoon, behind a sandbar, that occasionally floods bringing the ocean into the lagoon.
Today, another three miles -- this one along the Tiburon Ridge. Will I see you if I chance to look east or south or north?. Not west, believe me, you do not walk on water.

November 12, 2020

Thursday, 12th November. It wasn't a dark and stormy night. It was calm and mellow. Then the cat storm hit. They're rare here, but occasionally, you're jerked out of sleep at the sound of a lamp falling to the carpet, the do-dads on the cat trees flying to the ground, a food dish upended. Lasted longer than an earthquake, maybe 4 minutes. Then dead silence. Then paws softly landing on the bed and traveling silently to the enclosed cat bed. And peace once again. I did not mention it to Peyton, but I swear he looked pleased with himself this morning.
WEEK 10 -- Thursday night football. Pick your team: Titans or Colts. I'm going with the Titan (Again, J.T. lives near Nashville and they are looking pretty good this year.) I'll post Week 10 games tomorrow.
Out and about today, maybe a forest to find fairies fluttering about. There are no unicorns, I am sure of that, a pity. But feel free to look as you tromp around the forest trails. At least a mile, people, stretch those legs and your back before you head out, then enjoy yourself -- good for the spirit and the bod, can't beat that combo.

November 11, 2020

Wednesday, 11th November -- We've got the same today, high of 59 degrees, which is just fine with me, thank you very much.
THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL GAME -- between Colts and Titans. I'm going with the Titans (JT lives near Nashville, so what can I do, plus, they're really doing well) And so are the Colts. Step right up, make your pick! I'll post this again manana.
Another day, more writing, more hiking, and yea! another box of Christmas presents arrived for me to wrap on Sunday -- always exciting -- I know, I know, but in these weird days, you get your kicks where you can find them.
Outside, people, no excuses (well, except if it's hailing golf balls) -- at least a mile. Physical problems? Then take it easy, a smooth stroll, no chasing after squirrels or deer.

November 10, 2020

Tuesday, 10th November. Quite a surprise ending for the Patriots/Jets last night. I was pleased because Cam hasn't been having much luck, but after last night, well, to see that smile, to see all the Patriots players gathering around -- Maybe they'll turn a corner. Poor Jets -- now 9-0.
It's a high today here of 59 degrees. Same yesterday. Gotta say, it's ddd to be hiking in a leather jacket but beautiful. Good day to pick a tougher hike -- still not doing too many really steep hills because of foot, but things are looking good.
Do you have your Thanksgiving decorations up yet? As I said with the one photo I posted, it's for such a short time -- but I love to see the pilgrims and all the gorgeous fake fall leaves.
VORTEX is coming toward the end, in the middle of the last denouement. I'm shooting for Next Wednesday to have it done. And you know what happened? The idea for the next next Grayson Sherbrooke Otherworldly Adventure -- novella -- just popped into my head. Oh my, this one will be wild.
Make sure you give a stretch to all your parts before heading out for your daily walk. (Aren't I the optimist?) It's important and I'm always having to remind myself.
A mile today, all right? A stroll is fine, just make it a nice long one.

November 9, 2020

Monday, 9th November -- First things first: Week 9 I ended up 3-2 (again) I love Thursday night's game and the Ravens beat the Colts. (what was I thinking?)
To date, I'm: 28-17
How'd you guys do?
Today -- are you ready for this? It's a high of 57 degrees. The coldest day so far of the year. Right this minute, it's 49 and everyone is shuddering and shivering their way around the house -- all the heat's on, which means since I'm a reptile, I'll be roasting in about 15 minutes.
I want photos of your pets -- I love them, okay?
Everyone, stand straight in front of the mirror -- raise your right arm over your head and bend slightly to the left, feel the pull along your right side, your waist. Do this 12X2. Then left arm up and repeat -- then stand straight and up and down with your arms over your head, touch your hands together -- as many as you like -- this above two exercises are very very good for your posture, your back, your waistline, your triceps. Out walking today, so join me, let's do some hills and dales and maybe whistle while we walk --
