Sunday, 8th November -- Another wonderful football day maybe even with you wrapping some Christmas presents along with me. Doesn't that sound like fun? DO NOT ROLL YOUR EYES --
Gorgeous day in the neighborhood high maybe 60 degrees --
Where are you hiking today? Wherever you go, you will see something wonderful -- take a picture and post it for me, all right? Then after you snap the photo, turn in a medium-size circle, then begin to chant "Rain to Sausalito, rain to Sausalito" -- Got that ?-- and feel free to sway or maybe line dance with a friend or your dog -- stick to it at least 2 minutes or else the rain gods might not hear you.
Happy Day!!

Saturday, 7th November -- another gorgeous day with the sun shining bright and proud refusing to give over to some clouds holding blessed rain.
Week 9:
1) Packers BEAT the 49ers (I'm 0-1)
2) Colts over Ravens
3) Chiefs over Panthers
4) Steelers over Cowboys
5) Titans over Bears
Everyone, we jumped to 100,000 Covid cases a day in the U.S., the second wave in from Europe. So you MUST BE SUPER CAREFUL. Vaccines will be here soon, we all just have to hang in and be positive and patient and SMART. If you see someone without a mask, you turn away, don't breath in their air. On the trail you'll see folk without masks, I simply walk by with my head turned away. It's much harder to get the virus outside, but don't take any chances at all. Am I recommending for you to stay outside a lot? Only if you're walking, not lying on a chaise drinking tea (Well, if you also happen to be reading one of my books, I might have to rethink this.)
Also, you might want to think carefully about eating INSIDE a restaurant -- not a real safe thing to do --
Okay, Mom's through preaching -- who can tell me more about the nanoparticles vaccine?
If you throw a frisbee and it's not freezing cold with 30 mph winds, get outside and hunt up some kids or some dogs.

Friday, 6th November -- Okay, guys: here are picks for Week 9:
l) Colts over Ravens
2) Chiefs over Panthers
3) Steelers over Cowboys
4) Titans over Bears
Make your picks, make your picks, write them down in your football book! And here we go. I start at 0-1 since the Packers demolished the poor 49ers. Sorry for all of you who got smacked down along with me.
It's a gorgeous Friday here today, lots of sun, a high of 6l degrees. Only Problem? It's supposed to rain. Sigh -- will it? I just can't see it.
The walk yesterday in Sausalito --see my photos -- amazing, you're walking right by the Bay, it's perfectly clear, the city is shining in the distance. I wanted you to just get a small feel for it. Those of you who have visited, have, of course, walked along the path. Most stores are open, very few customers, except for the ice cream store, which which had a social distance line outside, which is very understandable.
Everyone, I want you to stand tall, lift straight arms over your head and tap your hands together, then back down -- 12X3. THEN, when you've finished, you raise only one arm over your head and lean a bit to the opposite side, just enough so you feel the pull along your side -- do 12, see what you think.
Hike where today? Well, if it rains, on a sidewalk. We'll see. RAIN, please, RAIN --

Thursday, 5th November -- Marion just emailed me, said she believed anyone who answers me on this page gets advertisements. Have I been hacked? Who can tell me about this?
Today is WEEK 9 -- NFL football
This is our first game of week 9 -- San Francisco 49ers vs. the Green Bay Packers. Oh dear, I would really have given the 49ers a shot, BUT -- both Garappolo and Kittle ARE OUT -- arguably the two best players, one of them the QB. To be honest, I don't know about injuries on the Packers team. Hmm, what to do? Heart or Head? I'm going with the 49ers -- I really don't have a choice, I mean they play at a stadium that's 30 miles from Sausalito -- sigh.
Get in your pick!!!
I'll post Week 9 four picks Friday a.m.
It continues gorgeous here -- sunny and upper sixties, lower seventies, absolutely perfect for hikes, but do you know, the hills look like Nevada. RAIN -- dances would be excellent, just turn toward the west and start changing RAIN FOR MARIN as you swing and sway to drums (You have to draft someone to play the drums, all right?)
Hiked yesterday with beautiful views and stunning swaths of fog, but alas, the camera lens on my iPad was smeared and they all turned out embarrassingly bad. I cleaned the lens with alcohol swab and now we're good to go again.
What are you guys up to today? Something a bit different? After you finish the chores, will you stretch and touch your toes, or grunt and reach your knees, that's fine? Today, really think about SBB as you walk. If you have stairs, do them a whole lot, all the while thinking SBB, okay?
It's November -- and that means Thanksgiving rolling into Christmas -- I love this time of year. I already have some Christmas decorations in the bedroom. Upstairs it's solid Thanksgiving. What wonderful fun. Smile, people, we've made it this far. The vaccine's just around the corner, then we'll see what happens. We are so lucky our country tests proposed drugs and vaccines up and down and sideways to make sure they're all right for all of us. It's coming --

Wednesday, 4th November -- The Night of a Thousand Authors was fun -- I got to see J.A. Jance -- it's been maybe 5 years since we were both on a panel at the Book Festival in Phoenix in a HUGE tent, maybe 500 people -- and believe me, fans blowing wildly, trying to keep everyone from heatstroke. She's very interesting, and lots of fun. She travels with her dogs. Anyhow, it went well -- hope you tuned in, lots of big-name authors.
Today, it's same ole, same ole -- work on denouement of VORTEX, trying to get it just right -- it's tricky, as you'll see next August --
Everyone, stand in front of your mirror and stick arms straight out to sides -- roll forward 12 times, slowly, then backward -- repeat until you think your arms will fall off. And then you shake it off, and head outside -- how about a mile today? Oh yes, J.A. Jance walks 5 miles a day -- she leaves me in the dust.

Saturday, 31st October -- I was wondering if Halloween would ever get here, it's seemed like loooong month, but wow -- here we go. Hope you get some kids. Halloween's coming up fast, the day the zombies burst out of the ground and terrify the crap out of us, not to mention eat our candy and eat our brains.
Update on BOMBSHELL, the 17th FBI Thriller: I'm nearly finished with the edit. The cover is very cool, explodes with eye-popping color. BOMBSHELL is set in Maestro, Va., (the setting of the 10th FBI thriller, POINT BLANK) and in Washington.
JEWEL OF THE LION (first thriller in A Brit in the FBI series partnered with J.T. Ellison). JEWEL moves fast and you don't know what's going to happen on the next page, and you're biting your toenails or a zombie's toenails. J.T. is an excellent plotter and that means when we brainstorm no plot gets left behind.
Alas, no kids want candy enough to crawl up our oxygen-deprived steep driveway, and the sad thing is, I still have a big bowl of candy, every year, but no one comes, not even the zombies with brain bags.
Take care, Catherine
