Friday, 8th January -- Friday, yet again. A friend in Australia said new strain of Covid showed up in a hotel worker in Brisbane -- lock down for three days, and before lock down went into effect, folk was driving out. Go figure. How do we get these people out of the gene pool?
PLAY-OFF GAMES, NFL, SATURDAY AND SUNDAY
Sat.
1) Bills over Colts
2) Seahawks over Rams
3) Bucs over Washington
Sun.
4) Titans over Ravens
5) Saints over Bears
6) Browns over Steelers
Okay, time to see to any bat wings: Stand in front of mirror, stretch arms straight out to the sides, palms stretched back and roll forward 12 times, then roll back 12 times. Repeat until you're about ready to shriek. Try to remember to do this before you go to bed, daily.
Great day -- sunny, high in the 50's and walking -- it's Friday -- How about a pizza?

January 6, 2021

Wednesday, 6th January -- Okay, who took home made cookies to a neighbor? And if you did, did you smile the rest of the day?
If you didn't, there's still time on this Big Smile offer -- Can't beat peanut butter cookies. Go for it.
Walked 2 1/2 miles yesterday -- Yea for me. If you happened to give me a minute of your walk, then I'm really smoking.
Turns out the head coach for the Browns tested positive for COVID so he won't be at the game on Sunday. We'll see what happens.
Going to rain this afternoon, at least it's forecasted. Again, one day on, one day off is perfect for this mud-slide prone area. So, no complaints.
Still trying to come up with a title for the 5th Grayson Novella -- It's coming right along, the baddies were just introduced -- this is so much fun.
Everyone out there, walk your brains out -- well, only if your brains just happen to be in your feet. You never know --

January 5, 2021

Tuesday, 5th January -- Okay, here's what we're going to do: There are 6 play off games this weekend (NFL) -- we're picking all six and add them to your to-date reckoning. Mine to date is: 56-29.
My picks are:
1) Bills over Colts
2) Seahawks over Rams
3) Bucs over Washington
4)Titans over Ravens
5) Saints over Bears
6) Browns over Steelers
Make your picks -- I'll repeat list Friday and Sat. morning for all those who don't get my posts on a daily basis because Facebook is such a jerk.
It's not raining today, so a nice walk is in order. Then rain again tomorrow, which is perfect. Rain has time to soak in and then move on to more. Excellent.
And so we move forward, slowly getting vaccinated, staying as safe as we possibly can, and keeping our spirits up. How about this: Today, think of one thing you can do for a neighbor to make him/her/them smile -- and tell me how it makes you feel, okay?

January 4, 2021

Monday, 4th January -- I hope everyone was happy with most of the results yesterday in the NFL. I sure am. The BROWNS won, the BUCS won. And in the NBA -- Steph Curry scored 62 points in the win last night against the Oregon Trailblazers -- HUGE YEA -- I had enough brains to record it so that'll be fun to watching, not having to bite my nails because I know they're going to win. This was Steph's highest number of points scored in his own history. He'll never break the record. I think that was Wilt Chamberlain, 100 points or thereabouts.
It's Grayson Sherbrooke's 5th novella today -- lots of ideas, we'll see what they go.
What are you guys up to today? Other than walking, of course. It's raining here, we'll see if it stops so we can step out with you today. The rain is so very welcome -- Irish green hills, haven't had that for at least five years. We'll see.
I love photos -- send them, guys --

January 3, 2021

Sunday, 3rd January -- Everyone got their week 17 picks in their football book. (my book is pink, go figure)
All right -- your fifth pick: Pick a team that has to win today and have other teams win or lose to get a Wild Card, a team you really like.
I'm going with Washington over Eagles -- If Alex Smith (who's back today) wins, Washington wins the division)
Foggy and chilly today here in Glorious-Land, again, go figure. If you're not into football, then when you go out and stroll around for your Sunday outing, then donate me a couple of minutes. Thank you.
Last week of regular football. Have fun!

January 2, 2021

Saturday, 2nd January -- It's raining, it's raining, and we're all singing and I swear to you beneath the fog the hills are greening up nicely. It's supposed to rain and on and off for the next week -- and that's the best kind of rain, it has time to soak in before it starts up again. What a wonderful belated Christmas present.
Who has seen The Watch? It's a new sci fi series, not sure who made it. Let me know. When I checked it said you had to "belong" to this or that -- so I guess that's the future of TV -- very little will be free --
I'm one third done with the next Grayson Sherbrooke novella -- It's all sweetness and light UNTIL -- now, you're not going to believe what happens. Well, since I'm not exactly certain myself we'll both be taken aback.
Today will be a fine day. Eli is ready to announce his thoughts on New Year's Resolutions -- I will post it soon.
Everyone, if you can, give me a couple minutes of your outside invigorating walk through the winter wonderland where you live -- I do not fancy walking in the rain myself. Do you?

Friday, lst January -- HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL YOU VERY SPECIAL PEOPLE. Today is a day for hope and gratitude and family but alas, no pro football. it's a day to kick up your heels and eat ham and black-eyed peas (yuck, but it's a tradition) and chocolate cake (a tradition for everything) And this afternoon -- wow -- if the weather lets you, get out there and skip and jog and maybe do a little soft shoe and breathe in the incredible 2021 air, newly minted, just for you. It's a fine day -- a blessed day.

December 31, 2020

Thursday, 31st December -- Some of you did post smiling selfies for me -- Thank you!!
So tonight the ball drops on an empty Times Square -- now that will be something you'll never forget.
A friend who lives in Siberia where it was -56 degrees C, yes, you read that right, said you stayed in until it warmed to -15 degrees. OKAAAY. I don't think I could ever be that hardy. How about you?
Can you even imagine it? I'm told when it's about -40 degrees Centigrade, it's the same as Fahrenheit. Never knew that.
Everyone, no crazy parties tonight, okay? Can I trust you not to go wild to a bar/party and drink your brains out and dance with sweaty-handed guys/gals? You'll stay in your bubble and dance your brains out with your significant other -- that'd be okay, even with sweaty hands.
Nearly 2021 --

December 30, 2020

Wednesday, 30 December -- Hours are flying by -- Will they drop the ball at Times Square, does anyone know?
Vaccine is getting around everywhere -- we're moving forward -- Tell me how things are going in your area and if your state has a different protocol than the CDC -- Here in California, it's health workers first, then retirement facilities, then you go from there --
I wondered about the FBI -- found out only agents active in the field catching bad guys get the vaccine in the first round -- very reasonable.
The Warriors won two games in a row -- amazingly wonderful --
All of you, I ask again that you give me a minute or two of your hike/walk today -- COLD -- low last night of 39 degrees, which, really is astounding here. And no, the heater guy didn't come out like he was supposed to yesterday. SIGH --
Everyone, take a selfie, smiling, of course, and post it --

December 29, 2020

Tuesday, 29th December -- I really can't believe it -- it's 43 degrees here in Sausalito this morning and, naturally, the heater broke down. Do you think the builders say at the factory: Okay, this is going to California. Say we program the heater to break down when it hits 50 degrees so all those wuss Californians suffer a little bit? Hmm, sounds like something I might do if I could and lived say, in the far northern reaches of Minnesota.
The novella is lots of fun and coming right along.
Wherever you guys walk or hike today, give me a couple of minutes, okay? I'm temporarily out of walking commission. Tell me how your state is distributing the vaccine.
STAY SAFE and think about something really fun to do for New Year's Eve inside your bubble --
