Ozeki's writing just draws you in and keeps you interested. Not a dull moment even during plot "lulls".

Whoah the main character's voice is so believable. It's written so well, it sounds autobiographical.

Umm i don't get it. What am I missing?
This book is childish? Is there a deeper metaphor that's going over my head?

The story is a little too silly-ish, for lack of better wording.
But I can certainly see why people love this series. It's easy to get into, and a really fun take on monsters. I love the inn keeper idea.

Believe this book works better as a10 book series. There's so much historical info. So many stories that are interesting but glossed over. Perhaps even a graphic novel.

This book structure is weird. It's 5 minutes of narration for 25 minutes of exposition.

Oh weird mental shift. This whole time I figured the family was african-american. However they talk about their great grandparents owning servants in the same house where they live.
