It's like this author is allergic to interesting writing. Every time a scene starts to get interesting he cuts to some BORING ass dead end political motive that doesn't come up again.

A slow reveal plot.

We get it! Its a patriarchal monarchy, and the older princess thinks its unfair that shes onky a princess and not a queen. Jesus fucking Christ. Yet another book about a prince and princess with special powers that Im supposed to feel sorry for. And this time because these privileged royalty cannot ascend to Queenship. This author needs to write in some perapective! le sigh

Holy crap! I found an entertaining book after a run of 4 or 5 books that I abandoned after the first few chapters.

Yet another prince/princess with special powers story. Even though the sci-fi loose rendition of Cinderella is a nice idea. I feel like this book is just blending in with all the other recent books that I've read.

Get real tired of Goodreads recommendations. Sick to death of reading books about a price or princess with special powers that the reader is supposed to feel empathetic towards.

Difficulty keeping interest in the story. Now that the fool has arrived at the cabin, maybe things will pick up?

Feeling disconnected from the plot. Where's it going?

Slow start. Interesting shift from Canadian middle aged couple to teenaged suicidal but boppy teen character.

By the title, thought it would be quirkier. Im happy its not.

Hmm, this audiobook narrator seems to have 2 accents. Old new york Jewish woman, and 13 year old Jewish boy. Sounds weird in a book with mostly Mexican characters.

Repetitive writing style. Nice enough story so far though.

After a string of super-mediocre reading, this book is a blast of fresh air.

After reading some Stormlight books, then tentatively taking a chance on Steelbreaker #1, and enjoying them... ish.... It seems each book I read of his is a little more underdeveloped. Hoping this book picks up some plot, characters, hooks, something...

I hate not finishing a book..... but...

Why does every character say "...say nothing of this to so-and-so..." What a boring & overused trope in this book! What real person would react likee this? Shitty installlment to a series I was enjoying...

Were the 1st 2 books written with this same simplistic style? If a book ever felt rushed by the author, this one reads like it was.

I don't remember this series being so boring. Nothing happening yet.. just a tangle of weird names of people and clans.

Way better than the 1st book.

I didn't really enjoy book 1 of this series, so I was going to skip this book, but the last book I finish was SO shiteous, that this story is a real breath of fresh air to return to. I forgot how juvenile the writing style of Brandon Sanderson was though :(.

Another meh. Having a bad luck streak of books lately.
