I can see why some people can be turned off by the amount of detail. I dig it.

How does an author follow up a book like Snow Crash? By one-upping The Martian, apparently. Crazy-good so far.

Typical fantasy. Magical princes and princesses. Easily identified villains. No 2nd guessing plots, no subtext. This is not Sanderson at his best. So far removed from Words of Radiance, I find it hard to believe it's the same author.

Stretches of boring text. Might be the first Sanderson book I don't thoroughly enjoy.

I'm enjoying this, but I can tell that this is rookie Sanderson. His more recent books are a lot more concise and enjoyable.

A near future sci-fi not set in space... a court drama... a lover's triangle. This would make great TV.

This is bad. I came to this book after reading Challenger Deep. Hard to believe this is the same author.

The smug-o-meter is turned way up on each character. It's my only complaint so far. This book is just fun.
