I find myself listening to one out of every third paragraph. It's just SOOO mediocre.

I can count on 1 hand the times this book has had an interesting part, section, or chapter.

Rushing through this. So terribly bored of the political posturing and slow reveal of the world build. This is the book that Patrick Rothfuss gushed over in the reviews? I guess it takes all tastes... I just don't know. I'm sad that I bought the 2nd book before reading this one.

This story isn't pulling together yet for me. It's so scatter-shot, I find myself zoning out while the words ricochet around.

Hmm, am I supposed to be in the dark on these very short interludes of dying people at the beginning of the chapters? Confused, but good.

Either Christopher Buehlman is a very versatile writer, or he has exponentially improved since Necromancer's House. Wow so far.

OK, really enjoying the story. Especially the ideas expressed. Gravity mirror, Hibernity, interrogatory AI's. The beginning was shaky, and the dialog is still really YA-level, but I'm enjoying the hell out of the story now.

Getting the feeling that this author is jamming a pseudo-science-heavy story into an 11 year old's dialog. Very strange so far. Hope it improves because I see his idea behind it, and it's neat.

Story got interesting again after the Auntie to Peter arc.

Can't quite get into this story yet. The style of writing mostly is grating my nerves. Although I think there's a great story lurking under the strange word craft.

This book is everything a story could be. So enjoying this read. I'll be sad when it's over.

Love love love the back stories of these lesser known deities. Especially in the flash back and detailed style like Dan Simmons Hyperion. But the addition of Capt Kirk and Spock as the main character's conscious? Hmm no. Just no.

Nigel was a peculiar guy blah blah blah... He had a peculiar hangover blah blah blah.... He liked penguins because blah blah blah. Except this one peculiar penguin because blah blah blah. SHUTUP! This book resides on the bottom rungs of the ladder of nerdism, way below any British silliness that Douglas Adams or Simon Pegg could come up with.

This author could write more dialog instead of long descriptive paragraphs.
