Some writing in this book seems rushed, and not well thought out... like a cheesy b-movie script.

However, the author is very skilled in avoiding plot holes, and keep it moving along.

Interesting editorial choices here... like when the 3rd person narrator says things like "she went to go open the cupboard" instead of saying "she opened the cupboard."

It feels like an oversight but but maybe they wanted to keep a provincial feel.

Not really an instant fan of the writing style... but at least the story is super easy to follow.

This female naturator may be the best at male voices that I've ever heard.

Nice accessible writing style. Seems like a neat story too so far.

I took a 2 book break from this series, and came right back easy. Really like how Morin writes.

The author absolutely sacrificed plot in this book. He gained some uniqueness but oh man is it boring.

The story is a little bit boring. However the boringness is tempered by the uniqueness of this setup and set up and story.

There sure is a lot of focus on pizzles (penis) and spurts (cum)

It's a werewolf story for pre-teens. Definitely YA, although it's not marked as YA on Goodreads.

Oh man, the climax and ending is so cliche.

I mean, this author is obviously talented, so I can't say anything bad about his writing. He/she is very competent at dialog and keeping the plot moving at a good pace! That's not trivial.

But this book isn't for me. It's not an enjoyable plot/ending for me whatsoever. I don't even know how this weird paranormal romance cop book ended up in my TBR list.

Yeah this book dipped pretty far into cliche romance territory. Which diminished my enjoyment of the book pretty far I guess it's good for readers who enjoy this.

Most of the side characters are very wooden.

But really. What do I know about detectives? Or writing a novel? Nada.

Umm uh oh. This is totally a setup for a straight romance plot.

I am really enjoying the mind reading, and I love this author isn't afraid to use the protagonist's power... you know how some stories have characters that NEVER use their powers? That's really fucking stupid. This author is doing it great. The story, sof far, is a little meh... but enjoyable!

I think this is the first Carl story. Surprising to wait for book #5 to center the plot on the captain!

He's like 1/3 James T Kirk, 1/3 Zapp Brannigan, and 1/3 Han Solo (Harrison Ford version).

ok so I wasn't expecting this truly fun space story to delve into a very accurate territory of pharmaceutical drug addictions.

Oh no the author made the character esper very endearing in this 3rd book. And book 3s are always the end of an arc.

Edit: It's actually a behemoth 85 hour audiobook, and it encompasses 16.5 novels! I'm nearing the end of Salvage Troubles, and the story is fun, even if it seems to be leading to a cliffhanger.

I'm actually reading "Galaxy Outlaws: The Complete Black Ocean Mobius Missions" which is apparently 5 or 6 books combined into one MASSIVE 65 hour audiobook.

I'm switching to this version on Goodreads, because IDK if I'll continue this series that long.

However, I will say that so far this has all the fun-ness of a Star Trek episode, and all the geekiness of a Scalzi novel. I love it so far.
