I really love the idea of turning language into magic commands.

This is really well written! I am loving how the story and prose is developing. I need to check out Cogman's other books. Maybe she has some other cool adult portal fantasy books..

Jurassic park meets ready player one, But without the excitement of either.

It's okay. As an anthem to geek culture, it doesn't really succeed. Which it seems to want to do.

As a fun goofy adventure, it's okay.

What's the author saying by naming the cat Mary Sue?? Is the cat an omnipotent observer? Is the cat more important to the story.

This narrator is so talented. It sounds like a male and a female narrator.

Oh so he's some kind of future hitler figure maybe? And his mysterious future visitor is some kind of handler?

I like when characters are written so well that they sometimes flub a line in conversation.

So many books have characters intentionally knowing exactly what they're saying at all times and that's not realistic.

No idea where this story is headed. I feel like it will be a twist soon.

Another page turner of a book. I'm on a roll.

This story is a like a time-travel mystery. It's cool to watch it unfold.

I don't get why I'm not enjoying this. I should love this book.

This book has all the elements of something I would love. However something about the plot or writing isn't terribly engaging.

This seems really great so far. A gay male protagonist that can do magic, and hangs out with modern day witches.

If this doesn't veer into romance territory, I might end up really enjoying this story.

Ending is getting confusingly complex. Not bad, but very very detailed, long-con plans.

I didn't like the character that said "nah, i'm an unreliable narrator"... too on the nose.

Oh cool. This guy said "laser chicken".. he was definitely a WoW player.

I got a true laugh out loud moment when the little 7 year old girl started saying f****** b**** clean up this s***.
