DNF. Not sure what's happening. Story is so jumbled and jumps around way too much.

I'm not following at all.

This is hard to follow.

A very cool writing style. Reminiscent of medieval spooky deep forest villages.

There is a bit too much jumping around. I'm not sure who the main character is.

OMG this went from somber to heartbreaking!

Ok this is Powers struggling with the Trump presidency. Very relatable.

Ooooh this is gonna be a story "about" Greta Thurnberg.

Powers is touching on a lot of very heavy subjects. There's not a lot of levity in this book.

Also, I think I can become addicted to the way Powers describes literally anything. A true master of prose, i think.

Oh an exploration of current political extremes overlaid by climate disters... this is gonna be good.

Very well written, but the message of "men bad, women good" is so heavy handed. It's like listening to a lecture or a Youtube video.

I love that a big chunk of lore was saved until 75% of the way through the book.

Kind of a sleepy but purposeful writing style. It's easy to follow, but I can tell there's a lot of lore behind most sentences.

Very slightly giving me Name of the Wind vibes.

Scalzi is very talented to write like he does, and so prolific. And I love that he's an old white guy that writes in his progressive points of view. That's some very true-to-genre scifi there.

Only drawback is that, in my opinion, Scalzi needs an editor more... his books all have the same "voice", and they're blending together. I wish his books were more unique from each other.

I really like Whhhil Wheaton's narration. And he suits Scalzi's writing perfectly. Although it's weird that I'm mixing up this book's characters with Head On and Red Shirts... because the voice is the exact same.

Pohl is extremely good at writing a sequel!! That's a rare talent in fiction writers, I think. He keeps it very interesting.
