Enjoyable, but done with the series after this book (for now).

Certainly advanced the plot well. Not enjoying book 3 as much. not as engaging i think.

So well written. Very unique. Pohl is quite talented!!

The plot is moving along fast, and fairly interesting too!

Although it's too much horny annoying teens and too little science. Definitely not as good as book 1, but still very well written.

Pohl has Introduced a new,, fresh premise in this sequel. That's a rare thing in cycles. Even more rare when it's done well.

Really enjoying this book. I do not remember any portion of this book from when I was 11 or 12. I'm wondering if I even read this book or maybe it was one of the sequels.

Lgbt representation from 1977! AND it isn't bigoted or righteous at all. It just is.

This is so well-written! So many sci-fi classics (and contemporary fiction) suffer from non-engaging prose. Or the other extreme where it becomes character-driven, and all science is omitted from the text.

This book has both! I'm so happy that I decided to re-read this book.

I first read this book around 1990... I would have been 11 or so. I remember a few details. Will be neat to take this journey again 30 years later.

THERE'S ZERO SCIENCE. Who's out here thinking there's science fiction in this book? Lord have mercy.

Well I didn't expect him to get with her... that's a twist.

Very engaging story. Interesting premise. Sone very weak plot devices. People get instantly very stupid... to do something that advances the plot.

I guess it's good the plot is pacing well enough though.

Ok. It's actually 2 men that the plot bounces between.

I think the plot is bouncing back and forth between the same guy.. one is thousands of "years" ahead in time-travel time? There's no explanation, so it's confusing so far.

This book is an assault on the sense... a lot of stuff all at once, continuously.

This is incredibly creative and well written. Also very funny.

The only tiny nitpick I have is that the wit does not give itself time to breathe. It's a constant barrage of funny witticisms.

The premise and the voice it's delivered in is super clever. I love it.

The retailing of conscious pilot and the Crusafixion is the best parts so far.

Author die pull together the scattered pieces of the story from earlier. Some sort of crazy seance.

Loving how this author writes.

One small complaint would be some unusual skipping around in the plot. Like one second we're running through a restaurant, next paragraph is a hypnotist show.

I'm almost a quarter in, and just realized I read the first book of this series in 2019. I do not recall the book whatsoever, but rated it 5-star.

I am enjoying the writing style so far. And the premise is seeming interesting!

author didn't have a lot of luck sticking w/ 1 genre ...

hmm... so the plot really is: Woman gets beaten and chased by unknown pursuers. Takes refuge in tiny town. Decides to avenge some unknown ghost's death. Her beating and pursuers forgotten.

Weird.

The MC motivation is so thin and bizarrely shoe-horned in.

Some writing in this book seems rushed, and not well thought out... like a cheesy b-movie script.

However, the author is very skilled in avoiding plot holes, and keep it moving along.
