I know this ends on a cliffhanger of sorts, and yet I am still gonna dive in. Hopefully the "late spring" release of the next book won't be too far off!

Yeah, I started this a couple hours ago but I can already tell I'm gonna be up all night reading it. I don't know if it's AW's writing style, the family dynamic or what, but it definitely reminds me of the My Brother's Keeper series. And yet, it's nothing like it at all.

Okay, so at first I was getting Firefly vibes...now shit's happening that reminds me of a little Stargate plus Babylon 5.

Considering my love of all three...I ain't mad, either.

Re-read via audio...

So I still haven't actually cracked this one open. I am torn between reading it now so that I can get to the final installment, and waiting for Books 3 & 4 to come out on audio.

Anyone know if/when that might happen? Knowing they're on the way will make the wait easier. If there is no plans for further audio, then I might just read the last 2.

Okay, so after painfully wading through almost half the book (dealing with dismal editing) I am starting over WITH THE NEW FILE.

And yes, I actually started it this morning...and I STILL kept reading it, even with the errors, because I liked it that much.

If you know me AT ALL, this is a BFD.

OMFG, the editing on this is baaaaaaaaaaad. And that's a crying shame, because the story is good and the SciFi aspects are tight. I almost (almost) wanna just open this is Word somehow and redline the FUCK out of it and send it back to the author...but I can't proofread on a non-fanfic level for shit.

Wow, I picked this for the taboo aspect...and yet the story is surprisingly existential, thoughtful and deep.

I'm in a 'cesty mood, evidently...

Decided to scan my old external drives for books I bought years ago...and I'm on a SciFi bender, to some extent. So, yeah, why not?

Well, one good thing about messed up sleep patterns and a bit of insomnia: I'm reading a lot more than I thought I would at this point.

Holy cow...I thought reading this was an angsty experience. Sean Crisden is positively KILLING it with the narration here!

LOL, I marked this as "currently reading" and the promptly didn't read any of it. I'm torn between waiting for book 3 &4 audio or just jumping into this one. (I've got book 2 queued up for listening next week.)

What the...? How in the hell is this still on my Currently Reading shelf when I KNOW I read it last summer while I was on vacation?

Well, looks like I'm starting it again so that I can properly rate it (no hardship, it was really good the first time around).

Every time Seong-Jae is fed up and says or thinks, "humans", you can hear this disdain for all of humanity in that one word.

He might just be my spirit animal...

With the new one coming out tomorrow, I can't sit on this one anymore.

I know a lot of people don't like to read books with overtly religious themes & I completely understand why. But it's stories like this one, with the last couple of paragraphs of chapter 3, that remind me why I DO.

Those passages absolutely broke my heart.
