OMFG yet another reference to how beautiful Jory is. I sweartagod I'm turning this series into a drinking game. FULL SHOT every time someone mentions his beauty, says he should/could/oughtabe a model, or touches him in awe of his magnificence. I think I'd have been toast before the first book of the first volume was even done.

Oh man, if it weren't for how much I fell in love with Kage in the Marshals series I'd just chuck this and find something else for the Spinapalooza challenge. I'm making dinner and almost cut off the tip of my finger while chopping onions because I almost fell asleep. *yawn* I'm not actually tired; this narrator is ridiculous.

JFC the narrator is driving me nuts; the pacing and pauses between paragraphs/sentences (I'm assuming) is all kinds of awkward. I'd already be done with the Goddamn thing if I were reading it, instead.

I am EXTREMELY intrigued by the story of a side character: Mormon boy born & bred goes off on mission has a mental breakdown due to his orientation. Fakes his death, changes his name & joins the Foreign Legion. That's gotta be one hella hard journey...wonder if AG already wrote that book or has any intention of doing so? I'd read the fuck out of it!

Super hard to read, but only because of the POV from a self-hating homophobic bible-thumping preacher. But...he's changing. I am a SUCKER for character growth; this is a slow building romance with a ginormous helping of precisely that. I only wish there were more ministers like Pastor Mike; more churches like this one (or the UU I've been to); more consideration how words can lead to hatred & mistreatment of kids.

Ewwww...the MC is eating peanuts from a bowl on the table in the bar where most of the town seems to congregate for liquoring up. Knowing the preponderance of people who DO NOT WASH THEIR HANDS after using the restroom, this is one of those things that completely squicks me out. *shudder*

So...the kids in the YA group think Colin resembles Jensen and says that Rafe looks like Jason Momoa. Which, kinda made my brain short out when I had a mental image of that reading the sex scene. Guh.

This Books through Bars endeavor is an amazing, thoughtful and truly wonderful cause. I wonder if there's anything like that here...

OMG. The first book had a Buffy analogy. This one refers to the plot of a Supernatural episode. I'm DYING of fandom happy squeely times.

I'm really jazzed on this discussion Daniel is having with Ginger about how people (his dad) felt like characters in a book and how he never felt the man was fleshed out for him to understand. Very Meta.

How do I keep accidentally picking these amazing books with fandom references that make me squee? Seriously, a side character just equated poor Daniel's discombobulation at his new life in a small MI town to Buffy, Season 4, when she's out of sorts and kind of floundering once she's in college. I FUCKING LOVE THIS COMPARISON.
