I think I'm on a Scifi reading kick. Good thing there are so many excellent authors who write MM within that genre.

Oh wow, a man discussing his feelings & emotions, openly and with intent toward developing a relationship. All without the stereotypical girly whining and crying or over-indulgent navel gazing and angst - let alone the pouting anger and misunderstandings or chest banging maleness in many books. How refreshing!!

The Princess Bride really *IS* the Best Movie EVER. If I were named Montoya, I'd give myself the nickname 'Inigo' as well.

Shit, whenever I get handed one of those stupid name tag stickers that starts off, "Hello, my name is..." I ALWAYS fill it in with "Inigo Montoya - you killed my father, prepare to die." Then, I only talk to the ones that get the reference.

This is gonna drive me nuts...I could spend all night googling Hispanic actors (even narrowing it down to ones who've been in police dramas - 'cause I'm sure that's accurate) but I don't think I'll figure it out unless I fall over it. I know it's a single narrator but he really does good accents and voices...ones that have a hint of familiarity so that it pulls you into the story more.

The voice of Montoya's partner reminds me of Steve Buscemi. Montoya's voice sounds like someone familiar, too, but I can't remember the actor's name for the life of me...

I love the merchandise for sale & displayed at Potter's Field; so much Pop Culture Geekdom.

OMG...a reference from my other most frequently quoted movie favorite: the dead victims were originally called "The Bettys." (Clueless)

LOL! With a character named Detective Montoya I'd have been sorely disappointed if there was no reference to The Princess Bride. "Six fingered man" for the win!

Apropos of nothing, but the hacker angle reminds me that I need to see if Mr. Robot is back for season 2...

Oh, I like this already. Starts off as a biting/scathing commentary on the value of human life (including ex-military) & what commodities can be bought/traded for in the cost & fight for survival. Odd that fuel credits aren't worth half transportation credits; you'd think, given our move to energy efficiency, that it would be inverted. Except, maybe that's how the govt subsidizes oil even in the future. Yep, figures.

They do have some explosively hot sex, don't they? Glad they're gonna fight for it...not sure how Zane will figure out how to trust Ty again.

(I do so love it when characters entwine fingers - holding hands while making love; something about that just tugs at the heart strings, more a testament to affection than any kiss, caress or whispered words can ever be IMHO.)

Holy shit...I can't believe Burns just abandoned them like that. WTF? (Nice parallel for Ty to be betrayed like that after admitting to having betrayed Zane's trust.)

Oh no! Well, since I skipped ahead to Shock & Awe I finally know how Kelly got hurt. Glad that wasn't a random tangent, that Nick's affection for Kelly was there before the Sidewider series (and not just strategically twisted to make it fit).

A character ACTUALLY inspired by Jayne Cobb, my favorite Firefly character EV.ER?!!?!?! I'm so all over this.

Liam is very Julian-esque, isn't he? Kind of shoe-horned in there it seems, even if I do like him. Of course, I liked Julian, too. Wish this all could have been conflated into one character.

I want to believe Ty, I really do...but I'm with Zane on all of this. Except the angry hate-sex. An effective statement though, leaving Ty like that - used, as Zane feels.

If the whore in Miami turns out to be Ty, too, I'mma call bullshit.

Wow, NOLA coincidence...I'm not sure how I feel about that. I mean, it's sort of romantic - like fate they were meant to be together in some way. But then again, it's also disappointing because both characters' bisexuality has always been solid, a concrete part of their personalities. For Zane's "gay awakening" to have been Ty reeks of GFY. Usually I'm good with that, but not with these guys.

I don't care how much Ty gets whumped on/shot/mauled, the emotional beating Zane keeps being subjected to is worse. Gawd, my heart positively aches for him right now...all those lies, the deception, the secrets. How do they come back from that?

OMG for some reason I have a mental image of Hermey as Tim silently laments his lot in the Abominable Administrative Department. I FUCKING LOVED HERMEY! That's also the only "Christmas" cartoon I can even stand.

Oh wow...4 months away from each other. That whole discussion with the wives of other police officers about their hubbies being gone for huge gaps of time was foreshadowing, huh?
