I honestly think I've read this. Huh. The hair color as rank doesn't ring a bell, but the intrigue/scheming on the spaceship and planetary survival situation seems so damn familiar. Eh, not the first I've re-read this year if so. (I only worry that it's a plagiarism thing since at least two authors I used to appreciate got caught at it. I'd hate to discover this was the original for someone else's rip-off.)

I was a little worried how the accents would sound for these books (I *read* the first one) and I'm pleasantly surprised. More Japanese-sounding, but really good without being stereotyped.

I'm not sure I noticed it the first time I read it, but yeah - what a good idea! Wear condoms when jacking off to keep sheets clean (especially when washing them regularly might be difficult).

Huh. I'm wondering if this originally started out as Firefly fanfic (which I LOVE). Very reminiscent of that 'verse; not a carbon copy or an obvious mucking about in that sandbox, mind you. It just has that same feel. Also, being hijacked via EMP net and boarded by privateers looking to sack-n-sell closely parallels "Out of Gas." No Jayne tucking Vera in an EVA suit for shooting to save the day, though, gorramit.

I've listen to the audio version of books I've loved, and listened to books instead of reading ones when I know the authors' styles aren't typically my cuppa (but the plot still sounded interesting). I've even listened just to see if the porn holds up as well as it did on paper (usually does). This will be the first one I've listened to where I was just "meh." Here's to hoping the narration improves the experience

I love how thoughts of and consideration for the war effort is woven through every aspect of this story. Not only are the MCs veterans, but rationing & loss underscore so many scenes. Seems authentic to the time period and gives the book a realistic feel that is missing from some books set state-side during the early 40's.

Ha! I like the very "noir" sound the narrator gives the story. The male voices are great, too; like those you'd hear in a movie set during the 1940s. Not so much with the cadence or tone of the ladies voices.

Why in the hell is it so hard to tag a menage book correctly? MMF and MFM *ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE* The letter arrangement in each acronym should be a clue as to the sexual interactions. JFC, I hate people...
