Spook Squad (PsyCop, #7)
I keep starting and stopping this audiobook because I KNOW it's the last one in the series. I've read all the free-reads, too, so it's painful realizing that I may not hear anything more about a well-loved set of characters. It's why I put off the last Cut & Run book...and why I waited YEARS to finally watch the last 5 BSG episodes. I don't want it to end...

Holy. Shit. Ermygawd. I uh, can't decide if I need a cigarette or a cold shower after listening to that sex scene. Between the position, the level of control, the dirty talk and Pablo using his pinky to sound Dev's cock...JFC. *guh* I'll be in my bunk!

I've never seen the appeal in other books - whether they be PWP/erotica or romance - in the rough taking and selfishness of so-called "gangsta fucks." And I guess that's the problem...damn, I needed to HEAR it. Bloody. Hell. That was riDICKhawt. *fans self*

LOL! That was one hell of an adrenaline rush...frotting like that with both gangs so close to where Dev & Pablo rubbed off all over each other. Whew.

Oh, wow. I liked the first book in this series well enough but I'm already liking the audiobook for the second one better.

Wait. Tristan James? I don't think I've ever listened to a Rhys Ford book that wasn't narrated by Greg Tremblay. Fuck, I hope that doesn't make a difference; I'd listen to Tristan read the phone book but Greg - his voices and talent with accents - is just who I associate with Rhys. *sigh* Well, I won't know till I get on with it...

So it ends on a cliffhanger, but not the kind that irritates you to know everything wasn't wrapped up. I'm DEFINITELY looking forward to the next in this series.

I love that Cicero's first decree were he in charge would be for more naps. That's one new rule I can 100% agree with!

I just wanted to take a moment to thank my GR friend Lei who is always ON THE BALL when she sees books on massive markdown (or FREE!) and makes a point to let people who follow or friend her know so that we can take advantage of the sales.

LOL! How much do I love that no matter the source, Cicero cannot STAND getting wet. From the puddles on the street to the snow falling from the sky and OMG actually having to
swim
for safety...it's just so much a cat-thing that it gives me giggles and makes me all warm and happy inside.

ScreenRant actually rated all of the Doctors, past and present, from worst to best. While I agree that Mr. Bean was indeed the worst, I do not like the ranks assigned to the others. Also, what the FUCK were they thinking by posting this? It's the kind of thing that STARTS INTERNET WARS, PEOPLE.
(Besides, no matter what anyone else thinks, Nine will always be My Doctor.)

Gawd, the way Jordan writes Cicero combine with how Tristan gives him voice...you can just TELL he's a cat familiar: it's all right there in his words, his actions, his movements & emotions. So good. (Why has it taken me so long to read books by this author?)

Logan's Need (The Escort, #3)
Oh wow! I love it when an MC struggles with a moral dilemma & this one gives me pause as well: Despite Dom prepping & offering up his own ass to Logan, even to the point of almost begging for it, was Dom capable of true consent when drowning in grief over the loss of his wife, Sylvie? If he's not, is Logan's fear that he assaulted Dom (just as Sam did his sister Savannah) an accurate assessment? Why/why not? *thinky*

The substitution of hexes for evolving technology makes this a really interesting premise. Makes me wonder what kinds of advances wouldn't emerge in Hexworld universe. Of course, as the medicines/inventions are in reality, these spells are the purvey of those with money...or to those aspiring to better themselves no matter the cost. And the desperate are similarly taken advantage of.

Definitely enjoying this more now that I've read the prequel. Now, if only I weren't constantly distracted by Tristan James' dulcet tones. *sigh*

I'm listening to the audio version of this (OMG the accents are melting my panties - Tristan James has one talented tongue) but it's so different that anything else I've heard that I'm having trouble with the 'verse. I need to go back and read the prequel first, I think...that way I'll better understand what's going on.

Tristan James' voice is still liquid sex seducing my brain straight out of my ears. If I thought his Cajun/hillbilly/Texan/Bostonian accents were amazing they are NOTHING compared to his ability to drop my panties with his Irish & British accents. JFC. *fans self*

Bear, Otter, and the Kid (Bear, Otter, and the Kid, #1)
This is what I get for choosing a book to meet a challenge w/o checking out the reviews; I just went with the rating and the vague summary. If I'd just checked out the 1st entry I'd have realized my initial impression of the story is exactly what someone else commented on in more detail than even I could express. Damn. I'm committed now and I need the author so oh well. Guess I can have fun picking out similarities.

Gawd, Bear even says that "F" word with the same disdain that Zach did to deny the very thought of being gay.

Seriously, WTF? A guy with a scholarship that can't go because he has to stay home with a child who's mom left w/ a man who didn't want kids; a guy w/ a best friend who's brother is gay and comes home needing a break from the bigger city; a guy who works in a grocery store and struggles to care for this precocious child outgrowing everything? A guy confused by feelings for BF's brother. Tell me that's not Shelter?!?!

LOL, I'm laughing at the "flying balls," too. I can't hear that without my inner 12-yr old boy snickering. Or thinking of Amber in Clueless.

Oh my heart. Just the idea that the MC *THINKS* there should be a handbook for orphans (on how to interact appropriately with other people's families) makes me ache.
