message 4: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Thanks.

message 5: by Neil (new)

Neil You are off to a very good start Amber, well done and keep it up :o)

message 6: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Thanks, Kris

message 7: by Neil (new)

Neil Wow 36 books read already Amber, if you keep this pace up you will eclipse your target with ease :)

message 8: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale I hope so. LOL.

message 9: by Neil (new)

Neil 60 done, you are reading at one heck of a rate Amber, that must be about a book a day :)

message 10: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Not sure what my rate of speed is, but I just added two newly finished books to the list today.

Ashley (Persephone the queen) Wow girl. Thats awesome

message 12: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Yeah. I'm 22% of the way to my goal of 279 books read by 12/31. :)

message 13: by Neil (new)

Neil Keep up the good work Amber, that first 100 book milestone is just round the corner :o)

message 14: by Amber (last edited Mar 28, 2014 07:59AM) (new)

Amber Martingale Already into the high 70's on the books, Kris.

message 15: by Neil (new)

Neil I do try to keep track of you Amber, I get as far as wow start to write a message and then you add another couple to the total :o)

message 16: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale LOL. Good point. Sorry about that, but there's nothing else I can afford to do to entertain myself at home. I seem to finish the most books during a three day weekend.

message 17: by Neil (last edited Mar 28, 2014 11:52AM) (new)

Neil Reading is a wonderful form of entertainment, and is only limited by our own imagination. If you ever find the time maybe you would like to take a look at my blog, even though I don't think that it counts towards your target :o)

message 18: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Probably wouldn't count, but I might be interested.

message 19: by Neil (new)

Neil There is a link to it with my profile blurb Amber. Is that another couple of books crossed off of the list? :o)

message 20: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Yes.

message 21: by Neil (new)

Neil I really am impressed with your appetite for reading Amber, you are devouring books :o)

message 22: by Amber (last edited Mar 29, 2014 08:56AM) (new)

Amber Martingale Got nothing else to do to entertain myself at home, other than listen to the radio... .

message 23: by Neil (new)

Neil Keep up the good work Amber :o)

message 24: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Maybe I should bump it up since I'm now 23 books AHEAD.

message 25: by Neil (new)

Neil Always nice to have a safety margin Amber as the target number can be changed at anytime :o)

message 26: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale LOL> I think I'm now 29 or 30 books ahead... .

message 27: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Updated to 345. Now I'm only 11 books ahead! LOL.

message 28: by Neil (new)

Neil Well even with your new target figure you are nearly a third of the way there :o)

message 29: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale I know.

message 30: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Well finished two more since yesterday.

message 31: by Neil (new)

Neil I am always impressed by your reading figures Amber :o)

message 32: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Thanks. I've finished three more since yesterday. Now I'm only 1 book ahead.

message 33: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Once again, I am 1 book ahead of schedule.

message 34: by Neil (new)

Neil Well done Amber this is what I like to hear :o)

message 35: by Amber (last edited Aug 05, 2021 05:03PM) (new)

Amber Martingale Yeah and that's the GOOD news, Kris. The BAD news is that my Amber Martingale Facebook profile was purged, so atm, I can't post Goodreads updates to my new Angela Roquemore profile...yet.

message 36: by Neil (new)

Neil I don't think that I had you on my Facebook friends list Amber. Did FB do the purging as they have been up to some odd things recently

message 37: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Yeah, they said "Amber Martingale" wasn't a real name or some such horse hockey.

And as of today, I am actually 1 book BEHIND schedule.

message 38: by Neil (new)

Neil You will soon make that deficit up Amber. I'm guessing that they will look at mine and say Kris P Baykon isn't a real name either, although I do include my real name with it. :o)

message 39: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale I tried that once. A couple years ago. Didn't work.

message 40: by Neil (new)

Neil The important thing is have you made up the book that you were behind by?

message 41: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Dunno. Let me check.

message 42: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale More than made up for it. I'm once again 1 book AHEAD.

message 43: by Neil (new)

Neil Well done Amber :o)

message 44: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Yep.

message 45: by Neil (new)

Neil Have you increased your target again Amber? Also are you ahead or behind schedule now?

message 46: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Ahead by 2. And no, I haven't changed it since I set it to 395, yet. ;)

message 47: by Neil (new)

Neil You have already surpassed my goal by almost an extra 50% :o)

message 48: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Well, entertainment-wise I got nothing better to do so I read a lot.

message 49: by Neil (new)

Neil And listen to good music :)

message 50: by Amber (last edited Jan 25, 2024 11:03AM) (new)

Amber Martingale You can thank (or blame ;) ) my parents for that. :D They probably wouldn't like some of the metal on my playlists but some of the rest of it they might. Like the Epic Rap battle between Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr. ;) Or the three between Adolf Hitler and Darth Vader.
