Bloodline: A Sigma Force Novel by James Rollins
I'm so lucky that the author I chose for my Literature Map yielded me some of my favorite authors who just happened to have new books coming out. Bloodline is the newest in Rollins Sigma Force series and it didn't disappoint. An intensely-frightening (at times) storyline with some surprises for Sigma fans. Worth the read.

Beguilement by Lois McMaster Bujold
I'm a fantasy lover and there are so many great fantasy authors out there that I've heard great things about and Bujold is one of them. This is not the series of hers that people seem to rave about and I can see why. I was disappointed in the novel as I found it was much more a romance than a fantasy. I think the world she has created has many possibilities but I'm just not sure if I'm going to go back to explore it or not.

These are the dates we use for Shakespeare as they were approved when it came up in a challenge a couple of years ago. As such Twelfth Night will be considered to have been published in 1602.http://www.online-literature.com/shak...

Review: This is Hilary Mantel’s offbeat first novel. There are 3 sets of characters, each living lives of quiet desperation. They interact in unexpected ways. The writing was clear and occasionally humorous. I really didn’t care for the last 30 pages (MAJOR, MAJOR spoiler: ) (view spoiler) so I gave it 1 star. Mantel’s later novels are much better. Recommended for those who want to read all of Mantel’s works; otherwise, skip this one.

It would be a *very* unusual coincidence that one of us was keeping score just when you did that. Noticing it several hours later or especially the next day could easily mean your edit would be overlooked, so that it would be better to make a separate post.

I'm not sure how in 60+ years of reading I had failed to read anything by Booth Tarkington until now. The writing and characterization were just outstanding, and the ending was a surprise. Thanks for this choice, Elizabeth. I will be reading more by this author for sure.

I looked over at Readerboard and it said that as of Post 689 my score to be 645, which agrees with my records (after I took off the styles on the The Moon is Down). Then, post #694 give me 30 more points, and 645 + 30 = 675. Not sure where the extra 5 points are from to get the total to 680, unless there were extra style points somewhere along the way that I missed. As always, I'll defer to our gentle moderators when it comes to scoring.
