Review: This was author’s first novel. The novel is divided in thirds: life in a small southern town is described with a focus on the role of three police chiefs in the years 1920, 1946, 1962. Several characters are present in all 3 segments. Race relations hover over the entire novel. The story seems real, and the writing draws you in. Recommended to mystery fans and to people who like to read about Southern living.

This book is listed as YA Non-fiction at BPL and there is no lexile score. As such, it will not qualify for any style points. Sorry, Rebekah.

Elizabeth, they have got to be joking! Unless they consider the King JMes Bible YA. What the book is, is an edited version of the King James Gospels, without the divinity of Christ in that the Virgin Birth and resurrection were edited out. This book also includes personal correspondence between Pres. Jefferson and Joseph Priestly, Benjamin Rush, and Pres. John Adams. None of these letters were written inYA style. It is insulting to claim this book is anywhere near YA for the author. In fact the verses were cut an pasted for KJ Bible in English and side by side with Greek, Latin and French simultaneously!! Some one has certainly made a mistake!
