And you should! That is great.

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I have a memorial to go to tonight, so I bet you will catch up! If not surpass me.

On the Island was great and the author Tracey is so so nice! She's on GR often.

Leea Wendy F wrote: "I have a memorial to go to tonight, so I bet you will catch up! If not surpass me."

Hope everything is okay. I'm at 38% - my kindle is mocking me with these percents lol!

Tracey is going to have a new book out soon. I can't wait to read it and she's very nice :)

message 1205: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Haha, doesn't the K3 platform have numbers? I thought it did? There are locations, percenteages and page numbers in the app (phone and fire).

In a well formatted book (meaning not a lot of spaces) I think 1000 locations equals approximately 50 pages -- but there is a variation. That is my estimate anyway.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Wendy F wrote: "I love Four too! Stacia... read me, [spoilers removed]..."

They still are some of the time! I was happy to see that.

message 1207: by D.G. (new)

D.G. The locations business drives me nuts in the Kindle app.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I've never understood the point of loc's. I need to figure out how to switch it to pages.

message 1209: by Gwennie (last edited May 02, 2012 05:47PM) (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Not all books will give you a page number with the Kindle. Most will, but occasionally you'll get one that won't read pages. Special Forces doesn't. At least mine doesn't.

It took me a while to get to the percentages. But I still miss page numbers.

Leea- everything is cool. My Aunt passed away in the fall and we waited until her birthday (today) to have her memorial. We got an etched brick to lay at the Hospice that took care of her in the end.

message 1210: by Stefanie (last edited May 02, 2012 05:59PM) (new)

Stefanie London (stefanielondon) Currently reading Diario de una Adicta al Sexo = The Secret Diary of a Sex Addict by Amber Stephens (Secret Diary of a Sex Addict) and Eats, Shoots & Leaves The Zero Tolerance Approach to Punctuation by Lynne Truss just for something a little different!

message 1211: by Leea (new)

Leea Welcome Ms. L :)

I'm sorry about your Aunt Wendy.

Finally hit the half way mark with Special Forces - Soldiers. It's so good :)

I read that one. It's actually very good!

message 1213: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) So I dnfed Deadlocked (Sookie Stackhouse, #12) by Charlaine Harris it is so bad. There is so much resummarizing and recap it is ridiculous. Then, you know how Harris has these big life altering things that happen (like the blood bond) that people stress about for books and books -- and then poof something happens to change it that is so easy and simple and sooooo frustrating because it is like Harris has forgotten what she wasted readers time over? She does this in the beginning of Deadlocked. (view spoiler) The book is so boring. If she wanted Eric and Sookie to end she should have just done it, the Eric that first appears in this book is more dumbed down and more boring than in the last book and I didn't think that was possible. Ugh. It is such a sad thing to see. I am not sure how this book was published except based on her reputation and name alone. Okay, done venting.

I kinda like the locations now, but that is after have read hundreds of books on it, I guess I have been brainwashed. :)

So I am now going to turn all my attention to Special Forces. I am so darned excited!

message 1214: by D.G. (new)

D.G. That's sad, Regina. I guess she wants to throw back Sookie and Bill together and the way to do it is to transform Eric into a moron?

message 1215: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I think she is putting Sam and Sookie together. I may go back and skim. Her technique ove the last few books has been to make Eric boring, stupid and seemingly not interested in Sookie. If Harris wanted to end the relationship between the two she should have done it differently and left tension and given fans something. Instead she has transformed a character she herself wrote. She did the same thing with Alcide in the last book. And there is so much useless focus on stupid Bon temps characters that are not interesting.

message 1216: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Oh god, after the last book (HORRIBLE) I was not sure how fast I'd get to this one. I cant' handle that. I loved Eric, my favorite, and I hate what she's doing to his character. I hated what she did to Alcide's character too, since you mention it. That is so disappointing. I'm so glad I just gave away my print books, I'm done with that series!

(It's not even that I hate the idea of Sookie ending up with Sam, because I kind of feel like it's the best ending for Sookie with the most normal life she can have. It's that I hate how she's going about it!)

message 1217: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments I never got into the Sookie books but I can just imagine investing yourself into these characters and then to be disappointed later.

I finished Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth and now I'm reading Insurgent (Divergent, #2) by Veronica Roth . I'm glad I waited for the 2nd book to be released before I started this series.

I'm also giving this audio book thing a try again. I'm currently listening to The Year of Living Scandalously (The Secrets of Hadley Green, #1) by Julia London . I'm hoping since historical romance is light, maybe my mind is able to follow it easily.

message 1218: by Leea (new)

Leea I had a feeling Deadlocked was going to be like that. I'm not all that surprised. I hardly remember the last book just that I wasn't all the happy with it.

I always thought Sookie was going to eventually end up with Sam. I know that would be the kind of life that Sookie really wanted, family, home and children. I'm just not sure if she'd be satisfied with that?

Not sure if i'll read Deadlocked?

Regina, so glad you're starting. Be warned it really brutal at first.

message 1219: by Hayley (new)

Hayley Stewart (haybop) I am currently 218 pages away from finishing A Game of Thrones (so hopefully done before Sunday) and, as muchas I loved this book I don't my stress levels can take much more - bring on an easier read for my next one!

Kelly ~ happily oblivious | 102 comments Wendy F wrote: "Tracey is going to have a new book out soon. I can't wait to read it and she's very nice :) "

That is good news to hear. I'll be sure to keep an eye out for it.
Currently, reading Be Careful What You Wish For by Alexandra Potter and kind of stalled. I read the first few chapters and it was hilarious. Then it started to slow down, a lot. Although, maybe studying for finals and getting distracted had something to do with it too.
Also started Unleashed (Ross Siblings, #1) by Cherrie Lynn . So far pretty humdrum. I can't say that the story is really popping out for me. Guess I got spoiled by reading two really good books, On the Island and Damaged Goods.

message 1221: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) It really is Leea. I will say more over in our offical thread. :)

message 1222: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments Happy Friday ladies!

I know most of you ladies did not care for the first Play By Play book by Jacie Burton. However, over the weekend I finished the 3rd book Taking a Shot (Play by Play, #3) by Jaci Burton and I must say it is my favorite so far. I think you ladies need to give this series another try. The story isn't going to win a Pullitzer but it was really good. There was more emotion and better character buildup in this one.

Anyways, I am currently reading Visions of Heat (Psy-Changeling, #2) by Nalini Singh for a group read and I just started Fifty Shades of Grey (Fifty Shades, #1) by E.L. James last night. I am really liking this one. What is the deal with Christian though? I am intrigued.

message 1223: by Leea (new)

Leea **fans self** that cover of Taking a Shot is just hot! Hey Marcella! Happy Friday to you :)

I'm slowly reading Soldiers and I love it!

About Christian Grey... Keep reading.

message 1224: by Laura (new)

Laura | 131 comments Agree with Leea, just keep reading, Christian is delicious in his own way :)

LOL on your cover shot comment Leea!

I didn't like that book at all but I enjoyed her book Rock Me (which is not related as a series other than a brief cameo thing, so the numbering is confusing). I'm not sure why Unleashed was so boring but it was pretty dull.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Finished Something Like Normal by Trish Doller and it was sweet and a bit sad in parts but also left you with a good feeling at the end. I liked it.

message 1227: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments I just commented on your review, STacia. I really liked that book too!

Kelly ~ happily oblivious | 102 comments Thanks Stacia, I will have to check that one out. Unleased just isn't doing much for me. I can easily put it down and completely forget about it. Usually not a good sign.

Also, just picked up
Chosen (The Chosen #1) by Denise Grover Swank . Read the first few chapters and it grabbed my attention. So we'll see how it goes.

It sure is Leea. And the best part is the description of the character the cover is based on does not disappoint. One of the hottest characters EVER!

Leea Stacia ~ enchanted wrote: "Finished Something Like Normal by Trish Doller and it was sweet and a bit sad in parts but also left you with a good feeling at the end. I liked it."

That's good to hear. I really can't wait to read it. I'm still reading Special Forces: Soldiers.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I'd almost space a couple of books between it, just so the two don't get compared. I'm sure that going from a very heavy book about war to a lighter book about PTSD from war might cause some comparisons?

message 1233: by Leea (new)

Leea Yeah, i'm going to need super light after Soldiers. lol!

message 1234: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I can't put it down! I am mixing in Blackout (Newsflesh Trilogy, #3) by Mira Grant (yay!!!)

message 1235: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) LOL! I went from Soldiers to Insurgent. And it's funny that after Soldiers Insurgent seems light!

Regina, how far are you into Soldiers now?

I'm reading Blackout next!! Whew hoo! I can't wait!

message 1236: by D.G. (new)

D.G. Just finished Tricked (Iron Druid Chronicles, #4) by Kevin Hearne which was a great addition to the series. We also got to hear a little more about Atticus past. I don't think it was enough but at least some things that bothered me in book 3 were addressed.

Now I start listening to Cinder (Lunar Chronicles, #1) by Marissa Meyer . I'm really excited. Wooohoo!

I just finished the 3rd one, so I'm seeing into the future here a little. Isn't she ending this series soon? I hope this isn't the last one if it's that bad. I would like to see it stop on a high note.

message 1238: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) 10, 11 and 12 are all really bad. 9 is the last good one. There is at least one more book left in the series. She made clear who sookie is ending up with in the last chapters.

message 1239: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Since I'm not planning to read it, Regina. Is it (view spoiler)?

message 1240: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 337 comments Finished Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie ! So cute and hilarious. I love books that make me laugh a lot.

Halfway through Master of Crows by Grace Draven . I finally have more time to read because classes are just about over. One Spanish final on Tuesday and SUMMER BREAK!!! WOOOO!!!!!

message 1241: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Wendy - you got it!

message 1242: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) LOL, I had a feeling!

message 1243: by Carina (new)

Carina Suerte en tu final de Espanol, Courtney =)

message 1244: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 337 comments Haha, gracias Carina!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Thought I said what I was reading over here too but I guess I didn't.

Finished Insurgent (Divergent, #2) by Veronica Roth and it was decent but I liked the first one better, although I know most people seem to have liked the second one better.

Started Special Forces - Soldiers (Special Forces, #1) by Marquesate and Suddenly You by Lisa Kleypas

message 1246: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Yay!!!!! Glad you are joining us and I won't be the only one behind. :)

message 1247: by Kelly ~ happily oblivious (last edited May 05, 2012 07:01PM) (new)

Kelly ~ happily oblivious | 102 comments Stacia, I really liked Suddenly You. Not my favorite Kleypas, but I really liked the h, Amanda.

Anyhow, finished Chosen (The Chosen #1) by Denise Grover Swank and really liked it. Wish I had time to read the other two books in the series that are out. Also, just got To Have and To Hold (Wyckerley Trilogy, #2) by Patricia Gaffney in the mail today and couldn't resist starting the first few chapters. Alas, but it is going to have to wait until after Wed when I my finals are done!

message 1248: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Hahaha, I'm willing to talk about it and talk about it.

message 1249: by Leea (new)

Leea That's great! I'm still reading Soldiers, about 66% now.

message 1250: by Carina (new)

Carina I watched, not for the first time, Pride and Prejudice tonight. When it was done, I had this urge, and what do you know, I started reading The Bronze Horseman (Tatiana and Alexander, #1) by Paullina Simons .
Its not what I had planned on reading next, but it HAS been on my to-read lists since December? January? And its a big book, so I'll probably make my way throught it very slowly.
