Hey Marcella! Glad you're back! My brother in law is reading that Stephen King book and he's loving it. It sounds so interesting.

Leea D.G. ~Shameless Hussy~ wrote: "They would butcher Outlander in a movie. Now an HBO series..."

You lips to HBO's ears;) A GoT's type series would be great for Outlander and the only way to truly do it justice. IMO! I really don't believe they will ever make it into a movie/series...

Yeah, not sure how they're going to do Fifty into a movie. I did hear Ian Somerhalder (Vampire Diaries) was interested in the role.

Carina Ian as Fifty???????? I would soooooo watch that!

Regina (reginar) D.G. ~Shameless Hussy~ wrote: "I think I remembered you saying that your version was like 5 hours but the one I listened was 7 and change. It was still short though."

Mine was unabrdiged, I am not sure why the difference?

D.G. Carina wrote: "Ian as Fifty???????? I would soooooo watch that!"

He would be a good choice. He's handsome but has a "bad guy" face. :)

message 1056: by Carina (new)

Carina I think the only reason I feel bad for not watching Vampire Diaries anymore, is that I don't see Ian anymore.
Man that guy is eye candy! Plus he's a great actor, so yeah, He's probably a good choice.(And a way to get lots of women to watch the movie!)

message 1057: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I just checked, my library has both the abridged and unabridged, maybe I got the abridged accidentally. I am usually careful about that. I at times felt like things didn't make sense and there were so many leaps - -now I know why.

I totally agree!! He is a good choice and that is how I picture Christian to look like.

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments I'm a little more than half way into White Cat (Curse Workers, #1) by Holly Black and it's finally picking up. I tried to read last night in bed but I passed out b/c it was so slow. I'm glad it's getting better now.

To answer your question D.G. (view spoiler)

message 1061: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Kay I agree! I am at about 70% and I am liking it alot now. It took about 50% for me to get fully into the world, understand it and connect with the main character. However, now I like the story.

message 1062: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments you're 70% in? So, you'll probably be done today. I hope to finish it tonight. I will try to sneak in some reading while I'm at work too ;)

message 1063: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Yup, I worked late last night after all our games so I listened alot last night. I will definitely finish today. Alot is happening now! I just can't keep his brothers straight -- what are their names again?

message 1064: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments I know one of them is Phillip and Barron???. I'm still reading and slowing uncovering (view spoiler)

message 1065: by D.G. (last edited Apr 27, 2012 11:28AM) (new)

D.G. You're right about the business of Enrique. I don't remember what I thought about it.

As an E-Psy, Sasha is really the backbone of the series so you'll hear more about her and her growth in all the following books. She gains confidence slowly -after all people can't change their perception of themselves in one in one day - and her growth goes in tandem with the conflict between the Council and the Changelings. There are even great situations involving her mother in the future.

Although this is PNR, there's a great UF feel to the series. Singh has found a way to create an overall arc without sacrificing the romance so lots of people are recurring characters that actually have roles in the books instead of just showing up.

message 1066: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Kay that is what I thought. I wondered if there was another?

Yes his journal/notes. :)

It starts to get much darker and better.

message 1067: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments Thanks D.G. I was planning on continuing with the series. I just wanted to vent my frustration on the major let down. I hate when books build up to a climax and then it doesn't happen. It really makes me feel cheated. I have heard great things about this series. I am looking forward to seeing where these characters go.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Psst...it's Leea's bday today. Let's send her some well wishes.

(and I feel extremely bad that I don't know the bdays for most of the people in the group. Leea's is listed in another group which is ultra convenient, so I'm not intentionally ignoring anyone else who's recently had a bday)

message 1069: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Oh m goodness! I did not know! Leea I hope that today is special for you and you get some time alone with your man! :)

message 1070: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Happy Birthday, Leea!!! I hope you get spoiled rotten!

message 1071: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I finished White Cat (Curse Workers, #1) by Holly Black I really liked the last 40%. The beginning was hard for me because I wasn't connecting with the narrator - -and thus not the world or the characters. But at the 55% to 60% mark it really started happening for me. The last last last ending part broke my heart! Poor Cassel!

I am going to return to the audio of Harvest Moon (Virgin River, #15) by Robyn Carr so I can finish it.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I'll be looking out for your review Regina.

If you had a hard time with the first part of WC, then you'll probably like Hold Me Closer Necromancer better. Iirc that one was easier to get into from the start.

Did you see the most recent Virgin River was like $1.99 or something? Or maybe it was the one before it. I don't remember now.

message 1073: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEEA!!!!! Hope you have an amazing day and that you are being treated like the queen you are. *smooches*

message 1074: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Stacia, I blame the narrator. I think if I had read it like Catie told me to I would have been okay. :) I am torn as to whether I should finish this series or start HMCN.

That is definitely a price drop! None of them (except maybe the recent ones) were very expensive -- ranging from 3.99 to 5.99, the first 4 were in a bundle and may were available free through the prime lending thingee. But 1.99 is a great deal!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I'm not seeing the VR one now. Maybe it was a limited time deal. It's only the side novels that are free or cheap now.

Sorry about that. I should have posted it when it was still up.

message 1076: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Nah, it is okay. Leea and I have them all! :)

message 1077: by D.G. (new)

D.G. Happy Birthday, Leea!

I decided to start Death Comes to Pemberley by P.D. James . It has gotten tons of bad reviews but I don't know if it is because of the Austen purists or the mystery buffs. I guess I'll find out, LOL!

So far it's funny. :)

I know how that is...there was a lot of buildup about that but who knows why the author thought it wasn't appropriate to follow through.

I'm having the same problem... I was alone yesterday for like 2 hrs and I cleaned, did some laundry and read for 20 min then passed out. I never fall asleep while reading. haha!

message 1082: by Regina (new)

Have you read any Lisa Kleypas books?
Secrets of a Summer Night (Wallflowers, #1) by Lisa Kleypas Sugar Daddy (Travises, #1) by Lisa Kleypas I know it's the worst title but it's a great series :)
Suddenly You by Lisa Kleypas

More contemporary romance with lots of hot hot guys... Kristen Ashley I've only read a few books by her but i've really enjoyed them.
Mystery Man The Gamble (Colorado Mountain, #1) by Kristen Ashley

If all you want is SEX... nothing wrong with that IMO haha! Then here are a few Eroticas that many ladies in this group love.
Hearts in Darkness by Laura Kaye Damaged Goods by Lauren Gallagher

Happy reading Tellulah!

Leea Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #1) by J.R. Ward ?

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) She wants Regency era? I need to read some more of these. I'm definitely not the one who can help.

I really need to focus more on historicals. Maybe I'll try shooting for one a week for the next few weeks.
