Snow Blind was my least favorite so far. The set up and the what and why were very interesting though. I can't wait to see what you think!

You know this Leea, but I LOVE #4 Out of Control (Troubleshooters, #4) by Suzanne Brockmann

message 1003: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments I'm only on chapter 4 of White Cat. I'm still confused about workers. Is this a world where everyone has to (view spoiler) So, I'm confused. LOL

message 1004: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Regina...Clan of cave bear (view spoiler) Wendy...do you know if she does??

message 1005: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I am not sure what chapter I am on bc I am listening to it, but I think I am past that b/c he is no longer at school. (view spoiler) Anyone else?

message 1006: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Through book 5 in the Clan of the Cave Bear series, she had not, no. She dreams of (view spoiler).

message 1007: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Thanks for that Wendy. (view spoiler)

message 1008: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Thanks, Wendy. Regina, that part was so sad to me :(

message 1009: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Me to. My heart was hurting and I was crying. I don't think I can go on.

message 1010: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments I might get to the remaining books someday but probably not right now. Like I said before, the books are soooooo long!!

message 1011: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I really liked the method of storytelling and the world, I just can't endure the emotional pain. I am a wimp.

message 1012: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments yeah, it is emotional. I have to be in the right mind set before I start any sort of emotional book. That's why I love HEA books so much. At least I know the outcome will be a good one even if it's a hard journey before they get there.

message 1013: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Don't get me wrong at all, every time I read it (and I reread that one a LOT) it rips my heart out and I sob. I just meant to say that as the story goes on you kind of find yourself glad that he stayed behind.

message 1014: by Leea (new)

Leea White Cat (Curse Workers, #1) by Holly Black ... I'm up to chap 5 (I think) i'm reading it slow because it's not grabbing me like other books do. It could also be because it's a slowly giving me information.

(view spoiler)

message 1015: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Wendy can I quote you to the comments on my review of Clan as to what you say above?

message 1016: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Sure... go for it!

message 1017: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I just went and read the conversation. I'll admit that Catie hit it on the head for me. I understood why she (view spoiler). But I always hoped you'd (view spoiler). It's why I haven't read the last book, and I'm not sure I will. It's the biggest of the disappointments for me.

message 1018: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Exactly Wendy. And for me, Catie always hits on the head! It was a huge disappointment for me, so shocking.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) About Curseworkers...this is supposed to be an alternate world of what we know, so it's not specifically our world. That's why there's a cameo of Jace from Mortal Instruments, but he's going to a curseworking school instead of being a shadowhunter because he's an alternate universe Jace.

The curse working world seems to be regulated. The government knows about it from what I can see but you have to be careful if you have certain "working" abilities because there are some the government will try to control or exploit. If you're a known worker, you need to wear gloves in public.

Okay, take two on the book I mentioned in the wrong topic and had to go back and erase!

Love's Rhythm by Lexxie Couper = win. There were a few cringe worthy terms but the love story was sweet and the sex was hot. It's going up on the list with my few favorite erotica.

Leea you have to read it! What other series from her do you recommend?

message 1021: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Thanks Stacia. :)

Domino (aka Meme) (bryghtstarr) | 231 comments started a good book by a new author for me Captured by the Highlander (Highlander Trilogy, #1) by Julianne MacLean . it's starting out really great and making my fascination with Scottish men even bigger =D

That series was good Meme! You will enjoy it I think!

message 1024: by Leea (new)

Leea White Cat: Well i'm almost half way thru and the author didn't make it all that clear so far. I'm loving how dark it is, how Cassel is unclear about his dreams, and how Lila (view spoiler) Parts I still don't understand and I know that it might be revealed later but right now i'm still in the dark.

Laura, Kristen Ashley books... I've only read these
Mystery Man (Dream Man, #1) by Kristen Ashley Wild Man (Dream Man, #2) by Kristen Ashley
The Gamble (Colorado Mountain, #1) by Kristen Ashley Sweet Dreams (Colorado Mountain, #2) by Kristen Ashley Lady Luck (Colorado Mountain, #3) by Kristen Ashley
Knight (The Unfinished Heroes, #1) by Kristen Ashley - more dark erotica

I liked them all, a few books had some editing errors but they were minor IMO. Also the Colorado Mountain series is very detailed and long. I loved Mystery man, it's smokin' hot and funny!

I really want to read For You (The 'Burg, #1) by Kristen Ashley , so if you want to read it with me, you're more than welcome.

message 1025: by Carina (new)

Carina My 5 cents on White Cat:
I read it on November 2010, but I do remember being confused and not getting really into it till like 70-100 pages in. Its a confusing world they live in, and nothing is explained to the letter, so I understand what you guys are going throu.
But the book (IMO) gets much better. And then the ending! OMG, that was a good ending, and I totslly didn't see it coming....well enjoy! haha

message 1026: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments thanks, Stacia & Carina. It's a little more clear after I read your posts. I'm still reading slowly.

My hubby just called me about 50 shades of grey. I had explained it to him a few days ago after he saw some of it on the news. LOL Apparently, the girls from his work asked him if I had it since they know that I'm a reader and they want to borrow it from me. It's just so weird that everyone is still talking about this book. Especially my hubby's co-workers (a group of accountants!) LOL

message 1027: by Leea (new)

Leea Thanks Carina, I figured it was something like that because it gets rave reviews.

Also, GR ate my post... Not sure why the books I posted above were one on each line because I didn't make them that way. Strange?

Thanks Laura. i'm already wanting to learn more about the tall redhead (if he has a book), i just love redheads =D and the blond malicious one Angus sounds intriguing too.

Had the same conversation with my husband. LMAO! I think I said something like 'huh, i've read better erotica' **His expression was priceless**

message 1030: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Kay and Leea that is hilarious.

I have told several people that too. I think DG had a great theory, the cover makes it seem very discreet and my theory is just the publicity and I think generally that readers didn't know that erotica could be softcore for women and that it could be sent it modern times and end with a HEA.

message 1031: by Carina (last edited Apr 26, 2012 03:30PM) (new)

Carina There was a RADIO discussion about Fifty Shades the other morning here in my town O.o

I really liked book 1, but I really can't believe everyone is talking about it now, and that its being made into a movie.

message 1032: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments It's so true about the cover. I wonder if these new readers know what they are about to read. LOL

I still crack up about that video clip on the Dr. Drew show about 50 shades. His expressions were so funny!!

message 1033: by Carina (new)

Carina I need to look up that clip! haha

message 1034: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Leea posted it awhile ago. I can't decipher through all her posts. I just googled it and here it is: http://www.hlntv.com/video/2012/03/07...

Not only the cover but the title. Fifty Shades of Grey sounds a lot more deep than "The Virgin's Surrender" (by the content, it could also have been called something like that. :)

message 1038: by D.G. (new)

D.G. I'm loving To Kill a Mockingbird. I'm also enjoying Snow Blind but it's not as good as the rest of the series. I will probably give it 4 stars because I just realized today that I love Gino (I really do) and I envy Leo because he gets to spend so much time with him.

message 1039: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I wish I allowed myself to eat like Gino.

LOL, so true! I laughed out loud with the part where his daughter told him her friend thought Leo was hot. Then I was all...awww! while they were talking.

Gone With the Wind...that's quite an undertaking.

I really enjoyed this trilogy Domino. By the end of the third I was hoping for a 4th, 5th and so on.

message 1044: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments Hello ladies! Long time, no see.

I have wrapped up a couple of books. The first being Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling #1) by Nalini Singh . I really enjoyed the story and the premise was very unique. However, the ending was a major let down. That was the most anti-climatic ending to a book I have ever read. And as a reader I feel extremely cheated.

I also finally finished 11/22/63 by Stephen King . I really enjoyed this book. Although it was way too long for my taste, the story and the characters really sold me. It had been a while since I read a Stephen King book. His books are usually way out there for me but this is one of his gems. I highly recommend this one ladies!

What was that, Marcella? I didn't have any problem with the ending but I don't remember the particular details.

message 1046: by Mimi (new)

Mimi Smith | 94 comments Wait, 50 shades is being made into a movie? WTH? The book is made up of sex, it'd be like...porn or something. And Outlander still hasn't?

message 1047: by D.G. (new)

D.G. They would butcher Outlander in a movie. Now an HBO series...

message 1048: by D.G. (new)

D.G. Finished Snow Blind which was good but not great. Now I need to figure out which audio to read next.

message 1049: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) That was my impression too. It was also really short.

message 1050: by D.G. (new)

D.G. I think I remembered you saying that your version was like 5 hours but the one I listened was 7 and change. It was still short though.
