Jane (PS) | 24543 comments Willy Wonker’s Chocolate Challenge (Quarterly)

Are you a ‘family block in one sitting’ chocolate munchkin or an after-dinner mint wafer-taster? This challenge asks: how sweet is your ‘sweet tooth’? And will you need to go to the dentist by the end of this quarterly challenge? Hope your private health insurance is up to date!

Read 5, 10 or all 15 chocolate/candy-bar themed categories set out below. Feel free to expand your reading list (and waistline) by adding as many bonus categories as you like.

Duration: 1 September – 30 November 2011

1. Snickers - a funny book
2. Milky Way - a book involving time-travel or sci-fi
3. Starburst - a book with a famous/almost famous person or with rainbow colours on the cover
4. Baby Ruth - a book centred on a current/ex-sports star or one where a baby/pregnancy is part of the plotline.
5. M&Ms - an erotic book, a book with a food-related theme or a book whose title/author is alliterative (the words begin with the same letter - eg Julie James, Slave to Sensation, Blood Brothers etc)
6. Junior Mint – a YA book or a book with a green cover
7. Twix – a book with twins or best friends
8. KitKat - a shifter novel or a book with a pet as a feature
9. Cherry Ripe - a book with an older heroine or a vampire novel ...no – I didn’t go where some of you went ;) but if you would also like to use ‘a book with a virgin’ then that is fine as well!!!
10. Crunchie/Voilet Crumble 'Its the way it shatters that matters' - a book involving violence or a military/ex-military operation.
11. Bounty – a book with pirates, bounty hunters or with the H/h searching for/finding a treasure
12. 3 Muskateers - a book that is third in the series, has a three word title or is set in France
13. 100 Grand Bar – a book where a central character is mega-wealthy or where the plot revolves around money or a ransom
14. Flake - a book with a goofy/nerdy hero or heroine
15. Rolo - a book where the H/h is playing a role (eg pretending to be someone else/different type of character etc) or is involved in some sort of deception/suspense

Disclaimer: If there are some chocolates on this list of which you have not heard – come to Australia for a visit and indulge!

All discussions, questions and lists are to be posted in this thread. Chocolates may be consumed in any order. Lists are to be reposted each update or when final.

This challenge idea was Melissa’s brainwave and I would like to thank DG, Penney, Dee and Katharina for adding a little sugar to the descriptions/categories.

Lynne (lovetoreadgal) | 1182 comments I'm in! With all the drinking and the chocolate eating going on around here maybe our New Year's Challenge ought to be different diets for the new year! Like the Cabbage Diet has to have vegetables on the cover...

message 44: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24543 comments LOL! Too true. We could do some sort of rabbit food diet:

Tomatoes: vampire
Carrot: red head
Snap peas: H/h with a temper
Snow peas (or are they the same thing?): set in winter/snow
Watercress: set near water
Potatoes: set in Ireland...
...and the list continues :)
