She can apply the old rule of "write what you know" and never run out of ideas for characters and plots. An All-American and professional diver, expert in martial arts, sailor, real estate broker and owner of a barter business as well as women's fitness and three hair salons, she has enough material for a lifetime.

She resides in a suburb of Tampa—with her husband, kids and Boston terrier. Currently she's plotting her way through her 54th work of fiction.
Rion is the second book in Ms. Kearney's Pendragon Legacy series. If you remember Lucan (and how could you forget?), Marisa Rourke is his sister. Marisa is a telepath that works using her powers to help calm the newly changed dragonshapers on Earth.
When Rion's home planet, Honor, is enslaved and it's inhabitants are tortured by the Unari (a tribe traveling from galaxy to galaxy taking power over anything in its path), he knows that the only way he can save his home planet and the people of Honor is to get Marisa to help him. Rion will stop at nothing to get Marisa's help, even if it means using the attraction between them to his advantage. But they need to work together before this enemy destroys them all - and their undeniable attraction might just be the thing to save the day.
I will confess that I really liked Lucan... but Rion was so good. I have to say it's my favorite one in the series so far. Marisa and Rion were amazing together. Marisa was his equal - she could give and take as much as he could, she was spunky, brave and tough.
Although this is a futuristic romance, the storyline was really good and even believable. There was plenty of danger, high speed chases and fire breathing dragons to make it riveting. The next installment in the series is Jordan (releasing Mid-2010). I kept wondering through the whole thing if we'd get any glimpses of Jordan in this story and I was not disappointed.
If you are a fan of futuristic romances then you must not miss out on this series.

As you know previously, I was asked to read and review LUCAN by Susan Kearney and was asked to review RION too, and I've been thrilled to have this opportunity! I was so thrilled when RION arrived and loved all the adventures in this book and the surprises that will be coming in the next book JORDAN. I so can't wait til RION is out and you've read it so that you can chat with me about this book and its surprised in here, especially one that took me away in this Futuristic Paranormal romance!
Rion Jaqard appeared in the first book of this Pendragon Legacy Series, LUCAN. Rion Jaqard is a mysterious hero from the planet Honor as well as a dragon shifter. Within Rion is so many secrets, that the reader will be thrilled with each they learn throughout reading RION. Rion is from the planet Honor but residing on Earth that he had previously traveled to with his friend Lucan. Rion has visions of the future of what will happen and attempts to change those outcomes. Some of these visions shows him what is presently or will be happening on his planet of Honor. As the visions show the cruelty that is happening to the people there, Rion knows he must leave to Honor as soon as possible to save his people. Marisa Roarke is the heroine of this book, the sister of Lucan. Marisa was previously divorced and very hesitate to trust Rion and when she does, her ability to trust again is damaged from Rion's secrets.
With the Unari, which are a race of most powerful partners in the coalition of evil that makes up the tribes, that have overtaken and invaded Honor, Rion needs to go back to his planet and save it. The Unari's creed is for total domination, total darkness, to crush all hope and let no one escape from them. He needs Marisa's powers. With the portal to Honor closed, called The Infinity Circle, and guarded by the Unari, Rion kidnaps Marisa and takes her to Stonehedge and seduces her to use a vault to bring them both to the planet of Tor so they can go from Tor to Honor to save Rion's planet. Rion plans in kidnapping Marisa is to have her use her powers in telepathic to calm dragon shapers simultaneously by communicating with an entire group of dragon shapers and also connect with their emotions all at the same time together. If she can use her powers to talk to all the dragon shapers at once, she can help Rion have a large powerful group to overtake the invaders on his planet Honor. Tor is also an enemy planet that have Enforcers, who are lawmakers, that capture them upon their arrival. There has been conflict with Honor and Tor since the King Arthur times. During that time a man named Gareth had two sons, Tor and Honor which they then had their own planet. Gareth only had resources to save one of them and chose Honor, which was a world of dragon shapers. Tor has jealously as well as fears of Honor's shape-shifting abilities. The people on Tor are called Torans and the people on Honor are called Honorans, As Rion and Marisa go through many adventures and dangers that are so gripping with intensity and passion, Marisa learns more about Rion's secrets. With Rion's help of his friends Drake and Phen and the owl Merlin that flew with them on this trip to Tor, they use a ship that's in despair to travel to Honor. With the ship converting to protecting and helping them to arrive to Honor after being attacked, they arrive with realizing how badly the Unari has overtaken Honor. Antigravs, which was put in the air by the enemies Unari on Honor, are preventing them from dragon shifting because Antigravs makes it painful and torturous for them to stay in that state of shifting. Together with Rion, Marisa and others on Honor that have not been overtaken by the Unari's, they fight to take back Honor and free their people of the torture that they have endured. With powerful and astonishing feats, they are able to do this as well as grow in their trust and love with one another.
This book of RION by Susan Kearney has even more adventures of dangers and passions that the reader does not want to miss. Finding out so many secrets of Rion as well as the powers that Rion and Marisa have together are breathtaking! The reader will be immersed into this book and the total surprise of the upcoming book of JORDAN by Susan Kearney will be an exciting surprise and will so anticipate his story! As the adventures were so gripping throughout the book, too, the trust that Marisa grows for Rion and the trust too that Rion builds of letting go of his secrets and accepting who he is, makes Rion and Marisa even stronger together in their passion. It can't be emphasized enough how astounding this book, RION is by Susan Kearney. This futuristic series is the best this year and one to be watched for more of from Susan Kearney. Watch out for JORDAN coming March 2010 from Forever - Grand Central Publishing. If you haven't read LUCAN yet by Susan Kearney, the first book in the Pendragon Legacy Series, its still available and one not to miss. The books do stand alone in that the author explains the terms used in this series, but it really helps to read the first book of LUCAN plus you won't want to miss his and Cael's story either!
this is the first book by this author that I've read. While this is book 2 in the series, the blurb sounded interesting & I was in the mood for some sci-fi romance so thought I'd give this book a try. There was sufficient back story provided that I didn't feel lost in either the world building or series plot but suspect that you may enjoy this book better if you did read the first since the h/h apparently have their first meet & interactions during that book and you might have a better feel for the characters personalities/motives going into this one. As it is, Rion has already decided his only course of action is to seduce Marisa into helping him (then almost immediately to kidnap her as time becomes of the essence) so that you are left with the impression of him as calculating Lothario cad (later in the book you do get some sense of his internal struggle between honor and the need to rescue his people). Meanwhile Marisa was inconsistent other than her attitude toward Rion would switch at any moment (like a swing in a storm) from one side to the other -- from burned from her divorce & wanting nothing to do with romance to all for the seduction, anger & fear at her kidnapping to want to hot & heavy, angry & hurt at apparent lies & secrets (which he had good reasons for) to he was her hero. I found it frustrating and difficult for me to care for them as a couple which in turned dragged the story. I did find the world building interesting, enjoyed the pace and amount of regular action & danger that they went through and the over all plot of the story. However I did have 2 issues with the end of the story which (in conjunction with me not having connected with the couple any till late) resulted in an overall sense of being just ok for me. The 1st was how they "overcame" the enemy's control in order to initiate the rebellion -- while the idea/theory was interesting, the execution did not work for me; 2nd was that the immediate success of the rebellion and recovery just didn't set right for me.

After reading the synopsis I was hoping to really enjoy A Dragon to Tame the second book in Susan Kearney’s The Pendragon Legacy series. But I hate to say this book was a big disappointment. When you pick up a book; whether it’s Science Fiction, Western or Drama. When sexual tension is the undertone of moving a plot along, you know that the main characters will act upon it sooner or later. This is what we as readers hope for…But to have the characters’ desires, be the focus of saving an entire planet…I hate to say I couldn’t buy into it, which made this story unenjoyable, to say the least. With all the talent and skills that the two main characters had, I was hoping for a better ending.
Some readers may enjoy A Dragon to Tame, but I have to say this story wasn’t for me.
The mystery, suspense, and romance continue in this second book of Ms. Kearney’s Pendragon Legacy series. And the dragons. The dragons are the heart of it all. This time around their plight breaks your heart and you hope there’s a lot of cheering going on at the end. You hope a lot.
Marisa is the twin sister of Lucan, the hero of the first book in the series. They’ve always shared that special psychic connection of twins, but Marisa has a step up on that, she’s a uniquely strong telepath. Since Lucan brought a cure to Earth to save mankind from extinction, one of the side effects is those who partook of the cure must intermittently dragonshape. Marisa is one of those. Her telepathy has been a godsend to others who are having a hard time with their transition; she’s able to communicate with them to help them learn to control their new status in life.
Not able to get to his home plant, Honor, since he helped Lucan locate and then lose the Holy Grail on Pendragon, he’s spent the last six months trapped on Earth, trying to convince its government they should prepare for the eventual attack on their planet by the Unari, a brutal race that has taken over his world by holding his people hostage as labor slaves. He needs Marisa to help him break that control on the dragons, and the only way to get her there is to trick her. Which he does quite effectively.
Angry at first at his tactics, Marisa soon forgives Rion when she sees firsthand how terrible Honor’s situation truly is. Joining a few rebel holdouts, Rion and Marisa must work together to figure out the best way for her unique gift to work in freeing the dragons and thereby taking his home back from the enemy. And through it all, their attraction grows, even knowing they do not have a future together, their worlds are too distant.
Once again, Ms. Kearney gives readers something so very different when it comes to a futuristic, paranormal read while mixing it together with Arthurian legend. The Unari is a race that seizes planets throughout the universe to further their hold on the Holy Grail. Their treatment of Honor’s dragons is horrendous and the author does an amazing job of getting across all the pain and emotion of an entire race in the throes of despair.
Rion and Marisa sizzle like mad during their love scenes. And when they’re in their dragon form, those scenes once again steal the spotlight throughout the book. I was really taken by surprise when we’re introduced to Jordan, the hero of the third book. If it weren’t for the dragons, that scene would have been the best in the story.
I’m hoping this series goes on for a while, that Ms. Kearney has enough stored in her terrific imagination to keep giving us wonderful books like this. I checked her website but didn’t see anything that gives a hint if there’s more than just these three books. I’m keeping my fingers crossed, though.
This book was by no means bad, but it never really grabbed my attention. I never felt myself rooting for the hero and heroine and it was hard to find something special about the romance. Marisa and Rion lust after each other from page one, and apparently these are new feelings for both of them even though they have known each other for some time. Rion does have ulterior motives – he needs to convince Marisa to come back to his home planet to help save the dragonshapers, who have been enslaved by the evil Unari. Marisa herself is a dragonshaper and she can use her telepathic abilities to talk to the dragons. Rion needs her to send them a message and he is desperate to do anything to accomplish that goal. He doesn’t think she will come willingly, since it is a very dangerous place, so instead he lures her with his seductive touches to Stonehenge, which hides a transporter to get them to the planet Tor, where they can then steal a ship to get back to Honor to help the enslaved dragons.
Once on Tor, Marisa is furious Rion tricked her. But once she realizes how desperate the situation on Honor is – men, women and children are being starved, unable to shift back to their human form and being kept in constant pain by a machine called the Tyrannizer, she soon forgives Rion and pledges her support.
I love the idea of dragonshapers and the world Susan Kearny has created is very unique and different. There is a lot of information dumped on the reader in the first couple of chapters though. So much so that I had to reread it a couple of times before I really understood all the “rules.” Let me make it clear however, that I have not read the first book in this series, Lucan, and I think missing out on the world created in that book slowed my interest in the beginning of Rion. That being said, once I got past the first or second chapter, things did fall into place and I was able to follow along, but it still never grabbed me.
When you sit down and read a romance book, in almost every situation you know the hero and heroine are going to have a happily ever after at the end. Getting there is the fun part, the tension and angst. There are many times when I am reading a book where I am begging the author to let the h/h find their happiness, but as a reader that is what you need. I am not saying every book needs a massive dose of angst, but I like to work for the happy ending. I felt that necessary part was lacking in Rion. I never truly bought into the chemistry of Marisa and Rion and I won’t give spoilers but the solution at the end of how to stop the Unari was a bit silly to me. With the unique setting and abilities Susan Kearney’s characters have, I think this book will appeal to some and I hope I can connect with her characters in the next installment.

Her knowledge and experience spans throughout the romance genre, and her fifty plus books include contemporary, romantic suspense, historical, futuristic, science fiction and paranormal novels-- with Lucan available now as part of this series, and Jordan coming in March 2010. Listed as book two in the Pendragon Legacy, this story follows where Lucan left off with Marisa Rourke and Rion. Marisa is a beautiful telepath, and one of the few dragonshapers on Earth who can tame others. Rion knows that the only way he can save his home planet of Honor is to get Marisa to help. Honor, having been enslaved and its people tortured by the Unari- a tribe traveling galaxy to galaxy on their own quest and taking power as they go- has just one hope left. Marisa also know that by helping Rion, she is helping Earth, as the Unari have Earth in their sights next and plan the same destruction for her home planet as they did for Rion’s. With the attraction to each other undeniable, they soon discover a link involving the chemistry between them and a way to channel their powers to stop their mutual enemy. But they need to work together before this enemy destroys them all.
Although I really enjoyed the first book in this series, Lucan, I must say that I found this one, Rion, much more riveting than the first. And for a futuristic romance, more believable too. I don’t want to put up a spoiler alert, but I was wondering through the whole book how “Jordan” played into this series for the third book, and I was not let down by the reveal towards the end of the story. That book proves to be an anticipated one as well.
Susan Kearney proves yet again that stellar writing can shape and define any genre to make it believable and engaging. The setting was well-crafted and easily pictured as she takes you through the galaxy to different cultures and planets. The romance in this book was strong and hot, and without issuing a spoiler again, very inventive to use the attraction between them as a way to save the world. A recommended read!
Stranded on Earth, Rion Jaquard is determined to return to his home planet of Honor to save his people from a brutal occupier. In order to achieve his goals, Rion needs Marisa Roarke, who has the ability to communicate telepathically with groups of Dragonshifters. What starts out as a seemingly simple plan to whisk Marisa off the Honor takes a dangerous turn when traitors emerge from their midsts and Marisa and Rion must work together or lose everything.
A very disappointing read. The first book, Lucan had potential, especially with regard to the amalgamation of futuristic elements with Arthurian lore, but these are virtually non-existent in Rion and the romance falls completely flat.
The references to Arthurian myth that contributed so significantly to the world building in book #1 are sorely lacking in this installment and it becomes little more than a foray into a futuristic war zone. Moreover, the excessively complicated and unrealistic sci-fi elements remind me of why I dislike this genre as every problem or difficulty is conveniently overcome with incomprehensible and illogical technology.
The romance is completely unbelievable. There is little build up to Rion and Marisa’s relationship. In fact, it becomes clear that the only reason he pays her any attention is so that he can use her abilities - this is NOT a good foundation for a love story. Rion is an unrepentant liar and Marisa comes across as weak for accepting his behavior with little argument. While their chemistry is strong, it cannot compensate for the absence of emotional attachment.
The third and final book focuses on two peripheral characters in the series and it is only my series OCD that might compel me to read it sometime in the future. Perhaps if it fits into a challenge.
Rion was a really slow read for me. I just had a really hard time with the hero and heroine. Rion is userish, starting off his seduction of Marissa fully intending to betray her, and then he kidnaps Marissa- sacrificing his honor for the greater good - he needs Marissa's telepathic abilities to save his enslaved homeworld. And Marissa is just too easy. She continually succumbs to her hormones and overlooks every betrayal-even before her goals to save Earth align and provide motivation for Marrisa to help Rion with his mission to evict invaders who have enslaved his home planet. Marissa forgives the kidnapping far to easily and allows Rion into her bed even after he makes it clear that there is no place for in his future for her. I found this pair so irksome early on that I got to the point where I just didn't care about a HEA for Marissa and Rion.
As far as the rest of the story? The Camelot based Scifi elements are sort of on the cutesy side. Rion is from Chivalri on the world of Honor, there's a Grail, an owl Merlin (who probably has some backstory that I missed by not reading Lucan) and Stonehenge is a portal to other universes. I did like the idea of Dragonshapers (shifters) though and I really liked the cover of the next book "Jordan", so I continued to muddle through "Rion" and managed to finish it.
Ultimately, Rion was just okay and left me not particularly caring to go back and read Lucan (Pendragon Legacy)which I have on my TBR pile. I hate to sound negative, and I may eventually go back and give this series another try, but for now I think I'll hold off on buying Jordan (Pendragon Legacy)even though the teaser in the back of the book sounded pretty intriguing.
I began reading Susan Kearney’s The Pendragon Legacy series with book 3, Jordan, but Rion, book 2, would have been a better place to start. In Rion the willing suspension of disbelief is eased by sweet humor, and those shape-changing dragons that so startled me in Jordan appear as new and curious to the characters as they are to the reader. They’re also very enjoyable to watch as twin babies scramble and play with the family dog before returning to human form for food.
Rion is an entertaining tale, combining Arthurian legend with adventure, romance and science fiction. It continues the story begun in book 1, Lucan, where, it seems, the Holy Grail is both found and lost and the fate of humanity saved.
Marisa is a telepathic human dragon-shaper, and for all the strangeness of that definition, she’s a believable, interesting character. Rion is an alien with an alien agenda, but also with very human emotions and physical attraction. Each tries to deny their feelings for the other, for their various different reasons, and each will learn that love is more important than our reasons to hide it.
The story travels from earth to alien planets via curious portals and magnificent space-ships. Its tie-in with the sequel, Jordan, is pleasantly satisfying, making me glad I’ve read both books, but sorry I didn’t read them in the right order. While the romance may be a little too intimate for my tastes, and the story a little too close to the “great science appears as great magic” approach, Rion is a fun adventure and a satisfying addition to the series.
Up until 60%, I debated on whether the title should have been the douchebag and the doormat who loved him.
Ok, so we're told Marisa went through a nasty divorce and has trust issues. Our "H" (and I use that term loosely) seduces her, convinces her to go on a date with him *at Stonehenge* (which is an intergalactic portal), and kidnaps her. She's offended, gets away, nearly gets killed, they go into hiding and... she lets him in her pants again. No - actually she pretty much invited him in. Shortly afterward, she finds out he's royalty. She's ticked. Then he informs her he will not take an offworlder as a bride. She's upset... They crash on his planet, she suffers a grievous head wound, and gets turned on by his carrying her (WTH?!?!) Hours later, you guessed it - she's invited him into her pants again.
Now...where was all that difficulty trusting people again? Because I never saw it.
At around 60%, more or less, they start formulating plans and getting busy with the rebellion, which makes for a much better third of a book. Unfortunately, you gotta read the first 2/3 to get there.
Eventually, it's revealed that his cousin (that his parents swapped him for his own protection) is behind the invasion. D'oh. A purist. Who thought he'd inherit the throne. And found out his cousin was the heir. Yeah - how dumb can you be? Of *course* he's going to be envious and want the throne he thought was his until told otherwise.
You know...perhaps the highlight of the whole book was Merlin's reveal (in more ways than one. Hah!)
While this is book 2 in the series, you really don't need to read book one but it does make references to events in book 1. I actually thought that this book was much easier to understand than book 1.
I really had a hard time liking Rion to start with as he had so many secrets that he was keeping from Marisa. I really hated that he slept with Marisa and let her think that they could have a relationship when in his mind that would never happen.
As the book progressed, you can finally feel that Rion is seeing that Marisa is just more than a pawn that he can use to free his planet. Yet, while he finally realizes that he loves her, he still won't allow an offworlder as his wife.
There are a few twists in the story but I kind of suspected the identity of the traitor, and there was all the times that Rion and his father worked to change the history when they got their "flashes." Kind of interesting that in keeping his son safe, Rion's father allowed his planet to fall into enemy hands.
How funny the way that the only way to stop the pain when in dragonshape was Marisa's emotional state and that great sex was needed so often!
Loved the help that Merlin gave and the final appearance of Merlin was a surprise but I guess it should not have!!
Really looking forward to the next book in the series - now I am really hooked!
Book 2 in the Pendragon Legacy trilogy. The hero is Rion who was introduced as an enigmatic player in the search for the Grail in the first book. The heroine is Marissa, Lucan's sister who we met briefly in the book one also. The book takes place several months after the end of the last book. Earth's racial fertility issues have been resolved and everyone is madly conceiving babies. Humans who can trace their ancestry to King Arthur have become dragon shapers and are adjusting to two major changes in their lives.
Rion has been trying to get Earth to offer aid to his home planet which is under the control of the Unari, part of the evil Tribes movement. He has been unsuccessful - after all there is no REAL proof they're coming to Earth and there are some many things they are having to deal with now... Marissa has found she is telepathic with humans in dragon form and has been helping people learn to cope with their 'dragon side', either singly or in groups. Rion decides to return to his planet but kidnaps Marissa to help him get the word out to rebels on his world [all infrastructure is either smashed or under Unari control:]. And Merlin, the owl from the first book comes along to help out...
Order is very important, I'm looking forward to Jordan.
I love this series. It's futuristic and mostly takes place on an alien planet but the hero is amazing and the heroine is a perfect partner/mate.
When Lucan and Cael returned to Earth (book 1, Lucan) with a cure for the Earth's infertility problems, the side effects created a new job for Marisa Rourke (Lucan's sister). The biggest side effect morphed humans into dragonshapers. Of course, humans don't shift so they had major control issues and Marisa, having psychic abilities, was able to teach the shifters control. This was now her government job and she was real good at it. Lucan's friend and fellow Honorian, Rion Jaqard is one hot alien and Marisa cannot stop herself from fantasizing about him. Unfortunately Rion shows zero romantic interest in his best friends sister. Hmmm, give it a shot or whimp out... that's the question facing Marisa and for which you will have to read the book to find out what she chooses. I will tell you that it's a smoking hot book and wait til you see who Jordan is. WOW I surely didn't see that coming.
It took me a little while to warm up to the book. First off, even though I knew they were both dragonshapers and Marisa always has scales on some parts of her body, during the first sex scene, when “her scales rumbled in wave after wave of pleasure,” I was a little turned off. The rest of the sexual interludes made up for it though, steamy, and the character’s connection was more than just physical.
A second part I had trouble with was that Rion kidnapped Marisa, to another planet no less, but she still falls in love with him anyway and eventually trusts him. Once I allowed myself to relax and remember that it’s fiction, I did truly like both main characters, though. Rion has secrets and has to put his people before his own feelings or anyone’s else’s, at least that’s what he believes. Rion is handsome, sexy, strong, loyal, passionate, and Marisa is more than his equal. Freeing the Honorians is an incredibly difficult task, full of danger from all sides, but they truly become partners.
You know there will be a happy ending, but the fun and suspense is in getting there.

POWER IN THEIR PASSION
Marisa Rourke is a beautiful, fearless telepath who tames dragonshapers on Earth. Rion is a tall, dark, and sexy space explorer whose home planet is a galaxy away. The attraction between them is undeniable, but Rion is hiding a desperate secret that will change Marisa’s life forever.
DANGER IN THEIR TOUCH
Marisa’s gift is the only way Rion can communicate with his people, enslaved by a powerful enemy. He knows that kidnapping her is wrong, but saving his planet is worth sparking the fiery clairvoyant’s fury. Yet hotter-and more explosive-is the psychic bond growing between Marisa and Rion. Could their passion be the key to freeing Rion’s people? Only if he and Marisa can discover how to channel their desire . . . before a vicious enemy destroys them all.
I have to say for not reading the first book I did not feel totally lost, yes there where some parts where I wish i had more details but the author does a good job of flash back of converstations that have taken place in the first book.
This book follows Marissa and Rion, who Marisa finds out she is EXTERMELY attracted too. While they embark on discovering their desires for each other Rion has other plans that could change how Marisa will feel about him in the near future. There is lots of action in this book and I for one did not feel bored while reading it. The sex scenes are hot not just for how they are written but the sex between Rion and Marisa plays a big role in how Rion discovers the truth of his planets demise as well as discovers a way for Rion to free his planet and his people.
While it is the second in the Pendragon Series, Rion is a satisfying stand alone novel.
Rion is a convincing romantic lead. He must betray a woman that he's come to care for and respect in order to protect his countrymen. Rion does not make this decision lightly and he somehow continues to behave with heroism and decency. The story is strengthened by Marisa's independent and nature. She acts as a hero in her own right.
The story is fun, engaging, and will have you eager for the third book in the series which comes out in March 2010.

Ok, I am big enough to admit when I am wrong. I am glad I didn't totally write off Susan Kearney after 'Lucan'. I was so angry by that novel, anyway...I am glad I didn't totally write her off because I enjoyed Rion very much. Rion and Marisa (Lucan's sister) are both strong characters and they both have some pent up lust going on there from page one. This story seemed to have a purpose to me, more so than the first book. The plot is action packed and moved at a quick pace and the sensuality was uh...on the boiling level. I think I will hold out and give Julian a try when it is released soon as well.
Love this Author's sexy and innovative writing - the descriptions and scenes of alien and other world's reaches a whole new stratosphere and sucks you into a completely futuristic realms where you can't wait to read what extra-ordinary event is going to happen next. Marvellous engineering of physic and special powers and the storyline is great leading onto other characters introduced in this edition. Wondeful and magical imagination going on here. Recommend anyone who loves sexy space fiction.
This is just hideously unreadable. Everything from the hooky Arthurian legends tie-in to the lack of understanding of gravity works (hint you don't loose it when you are only 100 feet off the ground) is silly. And the scales, don't get me started with the whole scales thing. I can't imagine that humans would be fine with gaining them nor how the hero whose people don't get them was an expert on how they worked as an erogenous zone. Yuck. I don't have high expectations for romantic sci fi which is nearly uniformly terrible, but this book is in a class all its own.
Rion is book 2 in Kearney's Pendragon Legacy and I enjoyed reading it. I found it an interesting concept of making love to lessen the pain the dragons felt. The traitor wasn't that hidden; as I read I knew when I first heard his name while they were on Honor I just he was the traitor. Won't give any names so as not to spoil it for those who've not read Rion yet. All in all, the story was good, the characters interesting and you'll be surprised about Merlin. I know I was.

I don't know why I didn't write review for book 2, and since I read the book literally 13 years ago, of course I had forgot the story. But reading the review for book 1 and 3, I think this one also have those bonkers and outlandish dragon sex scenes. Also apparently book 3 is about Arthurian legend, so maybe this one have it too.
While I definitely enjoyed this book, it is my least favorite of the series. I like Rion's character and the continuation of his story from Lucan. I enjoyed the premise and most of the plot line. But at times, the book's plot resembled that of a porn movie. Marisa and Rion have to make love to save his planet; service her, service Honor. A little too contrived. On the other hand, I did liken Marisa's ability to the Bliss Anna projects on the TV show "V." Fun reading.
Great book. Well written. Grabbed my attention and wouldn't let go. He is going to free his people on earth and meets her. He kidnaps her and she is all sorts of mad. But eventually they come to understand each other and the fun begins. No spoilers from me. It is exciting, suspenseful, mysterious, fun, emotional and so much more. I highly recommend it. I was given a review copy by Net Galley and voluntarily review it.
This book is great its different then the ones i usually read but it got my isterest. its has definitly alot of action written in it and it amazed me alot. and i definitly recomended to anyone who likes amazing appealing and romantic novels.
Not a bad story, but I found the ending to be a bit much. To win the final battle; the main characters have to have sex in order to free everyone to fight. Brought a new meaning to make love not war.

This is the second book in the Pedragon Legacy triology and I have to say I like it a lot. Interplanetary traveling, Dragons, and aliens - now if that isn't a book to keep you turning pages! I can't wait to read book 3 ;)
The Pendragon Legacy is interesting. I found it interesting how the author uses King Arthur and his knights in the story line and connects this novel with the first. The space age factor adds to the story. Lots of action in this book.
