WOW!!! So many to choose from and they all sound so inviting! I am going to have to think on this one. Thank you Jane for stepping in to do my rec's, I appreciate it. Thanks for the friend request as well.
My pleasure Lacy - and look forward to hearing how you go with Darkfever and any other picks that you read...Let me know if you want to join Jess and me for our buddy read: Halfway to the Grave.

This is a great selection Gigi, I'll definitely read Caressed by Ice, maybe the In Death book and Dirty (love Megan Hart). So many choices! I think i will also have time for the buddyread (Revealed), let me know when you would like to start. :)
Thank you! :)

Cool - I ended up with two sets of picks this month. Some of these are fantastic and will definately be added to my reading list for the month...
Okay, by my reckoning everyone should have at least one set of picks and some lucky people even have two :DIf you don't think you've gotten your picks please let me know. Otherwise let the reading begin!

Ok no problem until now nothing is holding me back from reading it next week. It's first time I'm doing this buddy read, I guess I'll enjoy it. So for next week then :)
Miss wrote: "Gigi wrote: "Hi Miss!!Sorry for the delay. We don't have that many books in common. So, this was a bit difficult, fun but difficult. I really hope you find something that you'll want to read *..."
Yayyy! I'm so glad you found a few that you liked! I loved Dirty! Megan Hart is a really good storyteller!
Well, I suck with buddy reads because I tend to take longer than my partner (a ton of external distractions and I'm a moody reader). So, if we decide to read Revealed maybe sooner than later because that way I'll finish before the end of the month! LOL ; )
Hi Jane,Okay, I've got my coffee and I have looked over the list again with a clear head. For this month I know for sure that I am going to read Darkfever. I want to do the buddy read with you but I need to get the book first. Let me know when you plan on starting it. I'm going to try the library first, since I have added ALL of these books to my list! I have never heard of Georgette Heyer so I'm excited to try her books. I actually had Black Sheep on my wishlist because I read you talking about it on a post not that long ago! So once again I will get back to you, but Darkfever is a go!

So I just finished Undead and Unwed by MaryJanice Davidson. If anyone recommended it to you READ IT! A fantastic, quick read! One of the best books I've read recently!
oh wow Yz, so many look soooo good. I will have to do the availability thing to figure out which to read. Well worth the wait, thanks =)Yz the Whyz wrote: "Debbie,

I've had it since it was released and I still haven't squeezed it in even though I'm excited to get to it. Good Luck with the move. "Great! Sorry for the delay, but I had to get my internet access set up so I could read these messages without trying to borrow someone's computer. I went a head and bought "Iron Crowned," but my daughter grabbed it first. I should be able to get it back some time next week. I actually have not done a buddy read before, but I assume that once we've both read the book we discuss/put our thoughts here in this thread? Or no. . .?
Hi Dee,Thanks for the list of great recommendations. I am going to think it over and try to pick something that will fit in with my other challenge too.

It was my pleasure! We seemed to have similar tastes, so I pretty much just recommended my favorite books! LOL. You have some great books there, and I hope that you enjoy them :D
Lacy wrote: "Hi Jane,Okay, I've got my coffee and I have looked over the list again with a clear head. For this month I know for sure that I am going to read Darkfever. I want to do the buddy read with you ..."
I think you will love Darkfever - well, I hope so :) I'm only up to book 3 in the series, so you may well beat me to the ending!
LOL - ALL the books! Well, I loved all the ones I rec'd (well, except for the first pick contemporary - which I haven't read yet - but will :)) so I hope you do as well. I'd love to know what you think of Heyer. There is a group of us on RRRC who regularly read Heyer - we actually have a Dare You challenge going this year: a book a month... We are all going to read The Corinthian in June if you are intersested in joining us :)
Let me know if you track down Halfway to the Grave. I'll PM you when Jess and I sort out our timing - but it will be the second half of the month regardless.

I can't really blame you, 'cuz I read a lot of the recs I got last month just because they were recommended, and good. I also wish I could point you too what you should try to squeeze in, but I either really love all the books I gave you, or I really want to read them, so I'm hopeless on that score.
Sooooooooooooooooo, numbers don't matter, read what you can and/or want, just let me know how you like them. *plaintive and demanding voice* =]
Great job as usual Tania, thank you so much for hosting this month! ^.^Was it my imagination or did Jim already finish one of his? What is this world coming to?!LOL
I just finished How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf which was such a fun read! (oh, and it has a Cooper in it for those doing the Names challenge)
Finished List (up to #498)1. Photojim - Darkfever
2. Inga - The Pagan Stone
3. Heather - Black Ice
4. Tania - How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf
MAY PIFM BOOKSHELF
Well, I hope we're ready for stats now...We've got a new top author - Nalini Singh! This might be the first time the pen name of J.D. Robb beat Nora Roberts. The new categories brought some authors to the top of the heap - Briggs, Kenyon, Howard, Cole, Leigh, Showalter and Banks.
1. Nalini Singh - 43
2. J.R. Ward - 37
3. Karen Marie Moning - 29
3. Patricia Briggs - 29

15. Suzanne Collins - 20
16. Lora Leigh - 19
17. Gena Showalter - 18
17. Maya Banks - 18
19. Julie Garwood - 17
There were 1399 recommendations made this month. This is the highest amount ever. I think most of us had trouble narrowing down our favorite to just one for each category.
Now for top titles. Singh is only the second author to have two books in the top under the same name (Ward did it last month). We had a lot of books pop out of nowhere to hit the top this time. Only 9 of the top 20 were in the top the within the last few months. 1. Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh - 21
2. Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning - 20
3. Moon Called by Patricia Briggs - 19
3. Naked in Death by J.D. Robb - 19
5. Halfway to the Grave - 18
6. Dark Lover by J.R. Ward - 14
6. The Hunger Games - 14
8. Long Hard Ride by Lorelei James - 13

10. The Host by Stephanie Meyer - 12
10. Wicked Ties by Shayla Black - 12
13. A Hunger Like No Other by Kresley Cole - 11
13. Angels' Blood by Nalini Singh - 11
13. Born of Night by Sherrilyn Kenyon - 11
13. Extreme Exposure by Pamela Clare - 11
13. Kiss of Midnight by Lara Adrian - 11
18. Backstage Pass by Olivia Cunning - 10
18. Pleasure Unbound by Larissa Ione - 10
18. Secrets of a Summer Night by Lisa Kleypas - 10
Diane, as usual I love the stats. Dee, you got me by 2 - I have read 11 of them, I think I recommended 5 of them =)
Delicious Dee Challenge Addict wrote: "wow...i've read 13 of the top 20 ;)"Only 7 to go!
Hmmm, I've read 13 of them as well. Somehow I doubt they are the same 13. :)
and 3 of them are in the TBR pile...I haven't read Hunger Games; The Host; A Hunger Like No Other; Born of Night; extreme Exposure; Kiss of Midnight or Backstage Passand i recommended 6
haha, I have Darkfever up high on my tbr, and this month Yz recommended Wicked Ties and A Hunger Like No Other, so those are hitting the teetering tower (that would be my tbr)
none of the series here that were recommended to me were the ones i haven't read...mostly continuations
Delicious Dee Challenge Addict wrote: "and 3 of them are in the TBR pile...I haven't read Hunger Games; The Host; A Hunger Like No Other; Born of Night; extreme Exposure; Kiss of Midnight or Backstage Passand i recommended 6"
Hmmm, closer than I thought. I also haven't read The Host, Born of Night, Extreme Exposure and Backstage Pass. Plus Outlander and Long Hard Ride.
I only recommended 2 of these this month though.
This is my first challenge here. I didn't know that I should post when I finished reading. Oops. So, I've read The Mane Event and A Lot Like Love.
Wow - I love your lists Diane! :)I'll bet we had some pretty obscure authors (first time appearances) at the tail end too due to the erotica category ;)

I am so lucky to have two people recommending me books this month! I am actually feeling very ambitious so I am going to read a book that both you and Ritu(vi) suggested, Magic Bites. I would also like to buddy read How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf. I am going to go ahead and request it from the library...I will let you know when it arrives.
My official May Pick it for me reads are:
Thanks for the amazing recommendations!
I love the stats! I've read 12 of the top 20, and plan on reading at least 2 more this month - maybe 3 if time allows. And I think 8 of them were on my list of recommendations. I don't know if that means I've got good taste, or I have no creativity! :)
Love the stats Diane! I've read maybe around 7 or 8 only with another 4 on my TBR. And more popular the series, more hesitant I am to touch it (like the Hunger Games). Dunno what that say about me though
Yeah, I enjoyed the whole series. The only problem was that each book nearly always ended in cliffhanger-like mode. But it was fas paced and action mode. But I'm puzzled since I don't see many who have read this serie..Delicious Dee Challenge Addict wrote: "@ Laura - I read Ill Wind last month and really enjoyed it...just bought the second one"
yeah it did a bit...i hadn't heard of it much (only in passing), until I saw it on sale during audibles 4.95 sale and i grabbed it...and I'll probably continue the series that way...I like the whole humans with supernatural powers idea...as something different from the standard pnr books
Yeah, the same reason why I liked it too. And the whole Mother Earth is just about tolerating us angle is another reason I liked it. It just makes it stand out from the hordes of the other UF and PNR out there.
Love the stats as usual, Diane!I've read 14 of the Top 20 and recommended 4 of them. :)
Of the 6 I haven't read, I've gotten them all as recommendations in current/previous PIFM challenges EXCEPT Darkfever. It's probably the most recommended book I haven't read that hasn't been recommended to me yet!
Jane (PS) wrote: "Wow - I love your lists Diane! :)I'll bet we had some pretty obscure authors (first time appearances) at the tail end too due to the erotica category ;)"
yep, we certainly did.
Vi wrote: "Love the stats Diane! I've read maybe around 7 or 8 only with another 4 on my TBR. And more popular the series, more hesitant I am to touch it (like the Hunger Games). Dunno what that say about me ..."I tend to be hesitant about the super popular series as well. But I did finally read The Hunger Games last year and don't regret it. Although the first book is the strongest by far.
Interesting stats, thanks for gathering them, Diane! On the author list, I've never read 2: Julie James and Richelle Mead. And, I've only read a short story from Kresley Cole. I ended up recommending 7 of those authors.
On the book list, there are 4 I've never read: Outlander, A Hunger Like No Other, Extreme Exposure and Backstage Pass. I ended up recommending 4 of the series, though not the exact books listed.
I've seen people talking about Richelle Mead's various series. It wasn't until I saw the recommendations here and examined her book list that I realized I was confusing her with another author. (I'd read a book about a succubus and didn't care for it much.) Now that I have that cleared up, I'll have to check her out sometime.

Thank you so much for the picks! I have been stalking this list all week in eager anticipation! And now I am finding it hard to choose. I am definitely reading The Hunger Games this month, and I will be starting Kiss of Snow at 12:01 on its release day. I ordered Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake from paperback book swap, so if it gets here in time I will read that this month, too. Ah, I wish I had more hours in the day...
-Thanks again
