Sorry to take so long to get back to you. I think that a buddy read of Playing Easy to Get would be best for me, since I already own it. It will give both of us an opportunity to give Cole another chance.

I am almost finished tha book I am currently reading, and would be able to start any time.

I'm so there with you, Dee! I also didn't like #4 at all but I think it was an important book in that it started the arc for the Psy-Changeling conflict.

Oh Leah... ALL of the books on this list look so good, I didn't know which one to pick or where to start, thank you so much for your effort.

After a looooot of thinking and debating with myself I decided to read A Lot Like Love by Julie James first since it's also my buddy read.

I'm a huge fan of James' books but this one wasn't as good as the other ones, just an ok read.
The story was ok but I couldn't relate to the too perfect characters.
I did like we got to see Jack and Cameron again and hopefully James will write us a book for Wilkins and Huxley, maybe Kyle too.

message 556: by Leah (new)

Leah (leahkarge) Lili, I'm sorry that it was only okay for you! Like Valerie said above, though, Kyle's book is next. I'm pretty excited for that. I love Kyle. I wish Wilkins would get one, too, though. He was so funny in Something About You :)

Just finished Flat-Out Sexy (Fast Track, #1) by Erin McCarthy . I LOVED IT! It made me laugh, cry, and need to take a cold shower. Elec is super sexy and heart touching. Thank you thank you for the recommend. I'm putting the rest of this series on my "To-Be Read SOON" list.

I'll add my endorsement to these as well - this book sets a pretty high bar for other contemporaries to jump over.

I just finished the first of the recommendations, The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever, and I loved it (4 stars)! After reading mostly PNR's last month, I was in desperate need of a good historical and this one was perfect. I will continue the series as soon as I can get my hands on the next book; I loved Olivia and can't wait to read her story!

Now I'm off to add Flat-Out Sexy to my TBR as well!

I just finished reading The Destiny. I really enjoy all of Kathleen Givens' books . I had the book sitting on my desk for awhile now and thank you for the extra push to start reading it! :) I will definately be reading some of your other picks as well!

I have finished The Hunger Games as well. It was completely intense and I am anxious to see what happens to our main characters in the next book. :)

message 570: by Brenda (new)

Brenda (bmass) I finished Undead and Unwed... MAY 3rd or at least that's when I posted my recommendation. It was one of the two books I chose this month. I'm still working on Naked In Death by JD Robb, but I would love that book to be added to the finished list.

Thanks

D.G. | 4477 comments Coffentea,

I finished Mr. Perfect by Linda Howard and I really liked it. I LOVED the heroine...she was totally nuts! The only problem I have was with the suspense part but then, that's usually my issue with most RS.

Anyhow, I enjoyed it a lot. Thanks for the reco! I'll try to get to another of your recommendations. I got A Hunger Like No Other from the library. :)

message 572: by Heather (last edited May 09, 2011 05:47AM) (new)

Heather (messybar) | 189 comments Hi Gigi.
Finished 2 recs from you over the last week.
1st Sugar Daddy
2nd Moon Called

I really enjoyed Sugar Daddy! Loved seeing Liberty's evolution from child to adult and Gage's patience and just down-right sexiness. LOL. Very irritated with Hardy though.
Thank you for the rec!

Was not a big fan of Moon Called.
I finished it, so I'm saying that at least on that front I succeeded. I've tried to read this book 3 or 4 times and just couldn't get into it. I guess it boils down to not really liking Mercy as a character. I had issues with it being really slow and not really going anywhere, but at least I finished it and now it out of my TBR list. lol

Thank you for the recs!
I think Naked In Death is up next. =)
Hope all is going well for you.

Francesca the Fierce (Under the Covers Book Blog) | 164 comments I finished the Buddy Read with Fran of Backstage Pass.

Fran | 12278 comments Elke, I finished Backstage Pass- Francesca and I read it together, I actually recommended it to her too. It wasn't my favorite but I'm glad I got it off my tbr list. Although there were some really hot scenes, I just didn't connect with the characters.

Practice Makes Perfect by Julie James Finished Practice Makes Perfect on Saturday, 5-7-11. It was an extremely fun read. The book reminded me of a good rom-com movie. Sure, some of the antics are over-the-top (i.e. the heel), but that's precisely what made the book so fun to read.

I'm planning on reading Perfect Chemistry some time this month, too. It's sitting in my library basket at home, I'm just not sure when I'm going to get to it. :D

message 577: by Betelgeuze (new)

Betelgeuze | 40 comments I finished reading Blood Brothers by Nora Roberts. It was a different kind of PNR, there was less focus on the magic and supernatural than most PNR. I liked Cal & Quinn, their psychic abillities didn't dominate and they were both interesting and likeable characters. The plot about the demon wasn't resolved in this book, and I am definitely going to read the other books in the series. I really enjow Ms. Roberts writing style, i'm addicted to her In Death series, and I will read more books she writes as Nora Roberts.

Alexis (teacher2013) AlbertaJenn
I finished Moon Called today finally. I really enjoyed it! I only gave it three stars because it felt so slow in some places that I ended up skimming more than reading. However, I really enjoyed the story as a whole and will definitely be continuing the series. Thank you so much for the recommendation!

Moon Called (Mercedes Thompson, #1) by Patricia Briggs

That's Hilarious! you might be the only women to read those books, that see's a bloody ghost, instead of the hotness that is Barrons! Hope you can over it the Lois Lane thing....and now I'm hoping when I do re-read these things don't pop in my head!LOL:D

Penney (pschoener) | 3553 comments Oh Vi! Find a pic of a super, sexy beast of a man, someone you think is just crazy hot, but dangerous at the same time. Then burn it into your mind while chanting: Barrons, Barrons, Barrons. Say it until the image-that-must-not-be-named is long gone from your mind.

Don't worry we'll get you past this little hiccup ;-)

The gloves are a nice touch. I can imagine Barrons wearing them - like knuckle-dusters.

message 591: by Vi (new)

Vi | 2794 comments I know Shell. I even put down this book for a while and read another book but I still kept getting the images (of course, I did read some Superman comics during that time). And right now, I don't see the appeal of Barrons (not Bloody Baron, mind you). He is really not at the top of hot-guy list right now..

Tania | 644 comments Not to influence you Vi - but I didn't get the Barron's thing either. He's an interesting character but I don't see what the fuss is all about. It's more that I'm curious about who/what he is. Perhaps now I've got a visual...

Actually I didn't really get the fuss about the book at all. I kept wanting to send Mac back to the toybox to be with the other barbies. But I'm assured it gets better as the series progresses...

message 597: by Penney (last edited May 09, 2011 09:37PM) (new)

Penney (pschoener) | 3553 comments You're not alone Vi. Like Jane said, at first, with Barrons, there's not even a hint of a likable hero... at all. And as you progress through the series there will be times you want to jump him and times you want to shove his head in a toilet and listen to him gurgle. But it's so much better to go through all the ups and downs while envisioning a total hottie, no?

Hang in there girlfriend :)

That might be the most perfect discription for him yet!LOL:D
