Tania | 644 comments I'm heading away for a few days so you probably won't see me here until mid next week. Keep reading and posting - and don't let anyone start to imagine headless ghosts from children's movies for the lead male character in a series!

I'll do an updated list when I get back

message 652: by Jess (new)

Jess (hiighgeek) I devoured my buddy read (oops sorry buddy) :( Halfway to the Grave

I've picked up the next book in this series as well as the next one in the Fever series. We'll see how it goes.

I also picked a couple other books from my recommended list, we'll see how that reading goes as well.

Sue (knitwitsl) | 226 comments SheSwitches,

I started Iron Crowned a couple of days ago. I meant to post when I started, but I kept forgetting! Anyhow, I'm about 50% through with it right now. My daughter finished it over the weekend and said she had mixed feelings about it. So I'm anxious to read through and see what she's talking about!

Lacy (lacy_stewart) | 1966 comments Hi Jane,
I just wanted to update you on the buddy read! I looked at a couple of stores for the book and haven't found it, but I havent had time to go to barnes and noble. I put my name in for it at the library. So I'm crossing my fingers that it comes in time!
I still plan on reading darkfever this month.

Caroline (pip_squeak) Cacophony!
Hi hope your well? Just an update! I've added majority of your recs to my TBR list as they all sounded so good and I'll be a bit more read in the Romance & PNR genre! I have just downloaded to my Kindle A Hunger Like No Other which I've just started! Hopefully will get to read a few more of your recs before the challenge finishes!!

I finished one of your recs, Caressed by Ice, which was as expected a great read. Let me know when you want to start buddyreading Revealed. Thank you for the great picks.:D

Daffodil (daffodil--ripcranberry) | 1058 comments D.G.

I started Nightshade and got about 1/2 way through before I had to put it aside to work on some other projects. I liked the story when I was reading it, but for some reason I haven't felt like picking it back up again. Not sure if it's the book or me. I'll probably try to go back to it when I finish what I'm reading now.

Jane, I picked up Halfway to the Grave from the library today. Let me know when the buddy reading starts and the rules of it. I will read Darkfever if I have time this month, if not, then I will get to it in June! So many books...so little time! ~Lacy

Dead Reckoning and so far i am enjoying it.

message 678: by Jess (new)

Jess (hiighgeek) Okay so because of this months picks for me. Not only did I devour my pick and my buddyread, but I've read as much of the two series as I can get my hands on. This is why I LOVE challenges like this, because had they not been recommended to me I never would have read them.

Darkfever (was my original pick)
Halfway to the Grave (was supposed to be a buddy read)

Let me know if you want me to link the other books I've read :D

message 679: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments LOL Jess - glad you enjoyed Halfway to the Grave! Lacy and I will start it sometime soon I think - I've just PM'd to say I'm ready whenever :)

Can't wait to read this - the book has been waiting patiently for me for a couple of months now...

Wonderful! I really love Candace Camp's writing. Very sweet and romantic.

I tried to recommend books that are still in print, so that it would be easier to find them.

Christine (Cagnes) (cagnes) | 118 comments I just finished Extreme Exposure, my buddy read with Cathy C!(#56) & really enjoyed it! Wasn't at all what I was expecting, I was thinking that this series (I-Team) was about a group of macho special ops guys, but it turns out that they're investigative news reporters. Looking forward to reading about the rest of the I-Team!

I finished our buddy read of Dead Reckoning yesterday. I really enjoyed it but I have some issues!! ;) I look forward to what you have to say once you've finished it all!

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Penney, still working on your list. So far I've read all of Karen Marie Moning's Fever series, James' Long Hard Ride, and Ashley's The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie. Great stuff all. I might start in on one of the others but I have the monthly to get to work on as well.

Pam | 1048 comments I just finished How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf which was recommended to me by Noor. It was an entertaining quick read. Solid 3 1/2 to 4 stars. I really liked Mo, the female protagonist. I'm not a big fan of books written in the first person so it takes a good story to let me rise above that!

Since there are 3 of us discussing it, where do you want to post our thoughts? We can start a thread in the Dare You To Read section if you want. Let me know when you finish it. And Elke, thanks for recommending it to me!

I think it was the cover of the latest book in the series that gave me the impression of a special ops team.... Breaking Point (I-Team, #5) by Pamela Clare .

The other reporters are interesting, I think I'll like the rest of the series!

message 692: by Kami (new)

Kami (aidansmama) | 988 comments I finished my pick Nerd in Shining Armor. I really liked it. I thought it was really cute and gave it 4 stars. Thanks for the suggestion, Joyce.

Regina, I really enjoyed The Darkest Hour. Had some annoying bits, but overall a great read and surprisingly gripping. Thanks for the great rec!

Nice cover, huh?

The Darkest Hour (KGI, #1) by Maya Banks

message 694: by ~Sara~ (new)

~Sara~ | 667 comments I've read 2 of my recs so far: the historical, The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever, which I loved (5/7**** originally posted @ message 592) and the buddy read, Devil's Bride, which I didn't (my review 5/12**.5). The discussion was good though!

I'll be reading the contemporary He Loves Lucy as soon as I finish my other buddy read Playing Easy to Get. AlbertaJenn and I are giving Kresley Cole and her Immortals another chance. I've finished the other 2 stories, so here I go - The Warlord Wants Forever and I want a story that doesn't make me want to cringe and write nasty reviews! :)

message 695: by Shellbelle (new)

Shellbelle | 195 comments Shell and I finished our Buddy Read of Angels' Blood (Guild Hunter, #1) by Nalini Singh , and ♥ it! I had accidentally read book 2 first, and after reading this book a lot of things made so much more since! I will def be reading more of the series, and I'm eagerly awaiting Archangel's Blade (Guild Hunter, #4) by Nalini Singh !!! We also did an inpromtu Buddy Read of Laid Bare (Brown Siblings, #1) by Lauren Dane by Lauren Dane. It wasn't on the rec. list but we were both reading it at the same time so it worked out! It ended up being great and I'm already reading book 2:)

Shell I'm still going to read Succubus Blues (Georgina Kincaid, #1) by Richelle Mead in the next week! I'll let you know when i'm finished.

Heather (messybar) | 189 comments Read Hummingbird over the weekend from Gigi's rec list.
For a Historical Romance, it was pretty good. I really enjoyed the conflict of characters at the beginning, but after awhile it became too drawn out. 3 stars from me.

I've read the following recs so far this month:
Black Ice (Ice, #1) by Anne Stuart Sugar Daddy (Travises, #1) by Lisa Kleypas Moon Called (Mercedes Thompson, #1) by Patricia Briggs Naked in Death (In Death #1) by J.D. Robb ] Hummingbird by LaVyrle Spencer

message 700: by Alexis (new)

Alexis (teacher2013) Today I finished Suddenly by Candace Camp by Candace Camp! I really enjoyed it. I've always shied away from books about London society, but this book hooked me from the start! The heroine especially was amazing to me. Camp remembered that she was only 18 and would make mistakes, but she was still so lovable and open that you couldn't help but like her. Thank you so much for another wonderful recommendation AlbertaJenn I really enjoyed this one!
