I thought he was interesting from book one, and got even more intrigued as i progressed through the series.

I am totally with you on that Tania. Barrons is probably the only reason I am intending to read the second book as I didn't find the first book amazing but kept hearing it gets better after the second one.

message 604: by Vi (new)

Vi | 2794 comments Haha Tania, exactly how I was feeling. Even about Mac. Really. And I have to thank you again for the visual. If nothing else, that photo is worth much =P

Shell, I agree. The toilet-gurgle thing pretty much describes how I'm feeling about him right now. Which somehow brings me to Moaning Myrtle. (I blame the HP and Deathly Hallows 2 trailer.)

Ok, with the visual Tania provided, I'm off to read the book. (Lucky me, work ended early. Yay!)

Isabella Queirouz | 201 comments I finished Perfect Chemistry and I liked it too much, too hard to put down also for Angels Blood even if it wasn't my favorite but Nalini Singh succeeded to create a different world only it wasn't a surprising end, I expected it to happen.
I'm sorry I didn't see until yesterday Inga's message to me on saturday for the buddy read. I started Hard To Hold today.

Francesca the Fierce (Under the Covers Book Blog) | 164 comments Fran,

I started with your pick Secrets of a Summer Night last night, and have to say I LOVE IT so far!!!

message 609: by Fran, Moderator (new)

Fran | 12278 comments Francesca, I'm so glad you are enjoying it! The whole series is awesome- Devil In Winter is my favorite, I can't wait for you to get to that one.

Francesca the Fierce (Under the Covers Book Blog) | 164 comments I can't believe I haven't read a real historical romance in at least 7 years or so! I used to read them all the time.

message 611: by Vi (new)

Vi | 2794 comments Ok, I'm done with Darkfever. It was ok. I think Barrons moved from the a**hole territory he was nearly in in the last 40 (maybe) pages.. I still don't get what the hype is about but I might just pick up the next book..

message 612: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments I don't think I truely fell in love with barrons until about half way through the second book

Vi I had the same problem, except I imagined Barron to be Giles, and Ms Lane was a mix between Jessica Wakefield from the Sweet Valley High books, and Super Girl.

Although I did finish Darkfever in like a day. (I really need to stop putting my books on my Currently reading list as soon as I get the notification that they're in from the library!)

I started Halfway to the Grave and am almost 1/2 way through it. Oddly enough I really like it. I wasn't too sure at the beginning.

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments I've just finally finished Bonds of Justice. I love it! It started out as a buddy read with Dee, but I was soon left behind ;)

Thanks Isabella!

Because I am now so behind on my reading, I won't be able to read anymore from the list :(

I still hope to read Halfway to the Grave... I notice Jess is well on her way with that one :)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments LOL Dee! Re PoP: I have a few other books I have to catch up on. I'll let you know. It was great buddy reading the first half of BoJ though - sorry I fell away ;)

message 622: by MountainKat, Moderator (last edited May 10, 2011 07:13PM) (new)

MountainKat | 31598 comments Monica, I finished Destined for an Early Grave today. It wasn't my favorite of the series, there was a lot of anger and misunderstandings, but I can see how it was necessary to keep things moving forward. Thanks for the motivation to get back to this series!! I hope to pick up another of your suggestions soon, but May has not been a good reading month so far.

I really enjoyed Blood Brotherstoo (wasn't a rec, but something I saw from someone else's lists). I put the next one on my TBR list. Hopefully it will come into the library soo.

I've finished the first 4 books, and eagerly grabbed up Shadowfever (Fever, #5) by Karen Marie Moning , but after 50 pages, I had to send it back to the library due to my inability to get into it again. I dunno if it was Mac's incessent rambling or maybe it was because I had gotten tired of Barron's "uber Alpha-male" exterior. I just couldn't finish it. Hopefully in a month or so I can pick it back up and return the love affair I had with the 1st 4 of the series.

Hi Heather!!!!

I'm so glad you enjoyed Sugar Daddy. I hope you continue with the series. You may like Hardy a little more in the next book Blue-Eyed Devil and if you liked Gage, wait until you read about Jack in the last one Smooth Talking Stranger! The first and the third books are my favs in the series and sexy Gage is my favorite Travis (Jack (third book) coming in a close second).

Sorry about Moon Called. I'm not much of a PNR/UF reader.

I can't wait to hear what you think of Naked in Death!!!

Heather (messybar) | 189 comments Well, you hit another home run for me, Gigi.
Just finished Naked in Death.

LOVED it! It's not quite like anything I've read before. Gritty and intriguing and to read how Robb describes the world was odd and amazing at the same time. =)
Really liked Eve and a character (tough/no non-sense chick with a core of former crumbled walls). Roarke is one sexy piece of fiction too.
Already have the next book in the series in the line up to read, but I am a little daunted by the sheer volume of books in this series. LOL

Thanks, once again, for the great rec!!
I think that makes it 4 books out of the recs you sent me and I've been a big fan of 3 out of the 4.

Waiting on Just the Sexiest Man Alive and Beyond the Highland Mist from the library, so whichever gets to me first will be up next to read.

I should be ready to start Extreme Exposure within the next couple days, just need to finish up "The Passage"... it's pretty long book.

I'll check with you once I'm done to see if you're ready. ☺

I started Nightshade (Nightshade, #1) by Andrea Cremer this morning. I was looking for a flower cover for the regular May challenge and this will cross over to a couple other challenges as well. I haven't gotten very far yet, but so far it's interesting.

One of my libraries has it in audiobooks so I'm planning to download it one of these days. If you like it, I'll get it sooner rather than later. :)
