Congrats on finishing your "Demons" book, Kristen! It's such a relief to know you enjoyed KGtW since I plan on reading it this month. Now I'm more excited to read it. =)

Sorry your book bombed, Lethal. Glad you enjoyed Kitty, Kristen. Those books are nice quick reads.

Congrats on finishing your picks, Kimberly & Rebecca! @ Kimberly: I'm so happy you liked SB more than VA! Woo! I didn't like it as much as you but I thought Thorn Queen was amazing! You're in for a treat!
@ Rebecca: LOL! Don't worry about shortening your thoughts. I enjoy reading reviews, long & short. And I totally agree with your review. I've read the previous two books in that series & I thought they were pretty good but "Falcondance" was so bleh. Here's hoping you'll like the others book more, if you decide to continue that series.
Haha, I'm glad someone enjoys it! I mean, I do as well, but it's not really meant for me. ;)
I think I'm going to give the forth one a go, since I want to know what happens, and see if it improves. If it doesn't, I don't think I'll go back for the 1st and 2nd one though. I'm thinking about reading it for the Shifers shelf actually. I want to save IAD until I really have time to enjoy it and not only for shorter periods.

Just a super quick review on this book...off to get into my Demon book...YA Fantasy

I found this book really refreshing - I think because some of my recent reads were almost re-runs of others in their series.
This is the second book of the Seven Kingdoms but had only a faint thread to of topic to follow from the first.
What I loved about this book was the pure fantasy about it. I haven't read anything similar to it. It was new and took me to another place. Of course, being YA, it wasn't hot, heavy and action pack...but it had this sincerity about it, that I can't adequately describe.
Might not meet everyones tastes, but I really enjoyed it!

Very glad to hear that! I just got it a few days ago :D
Woot woot! Congrats on finishing your "YA Fantasy" book, Shannon! I'm glad you enjoyed "Fire." I didn't think it could top "Graceling" but it was even better IMO!We only have one book left for "YA Fantasy" & then we'll get our stamp. Of course, I'm the missing link. Sorry team. =( I wasn't able to get my hands on my book until Wednesday & ended up blowing off my other reads for Magic Bleeds. But I promise I will start my YA book tonight.
LOL! Not yet, Mary. But if I don't finish this book by Monday, feel free to go whip crazy on my ass. ☺
LOL! Go, Mary! Look out, Lethal! >:) PS: New shelf will be announced a bit early again (later today/nite)
Ah-ha! I am back from the freezing, drizzly, raining, hailing, cloudy, windy, frigid, howling coast of Oregon in April!I missed you guys!!!!!!!!
We were like in the mountains and surrounded by dense Pacific NW forest. It was super cool, but internet is a no-go there. I couldn't even check to see what the shelf was this week.
LUCKILY.....
the only book I read on vaca was a demon book. YES! Give me some time to get plugged back into my life tonight and I am golden!
LOL! We missed you, Dana! I remember you saying you were on vacation with your Kindle. Welcome back!Steph wrote: "LOL! Go, Mary! Look out, Lethal! >:)

OUR NEXT SHELF IS ..... 'urban-fantasy'

Happy Reading, Everyone!!
I am almost finished with my demons book and should finish it tonight or tomorrow. My step-father is in the hospital and I've been doing my job and much of my mother's job. As well as making sure she eats and running errands for them. I'll be using Vicious Circle by Mike Carey for the Urban Fantasy shelf.
Mary, I hope your step-father is doing alright and recovers soon.Well shoot! I started reading This Side of the Grave two days ago, so I doubt I can use that.
No problem, I should be finished with it by tomorrow.
I'll be reading Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs by Molly Harper.
Good luck team!!
7,349 bks?!? Okay, I am definitely using the "Shelf tip" for this shelf. Woot woot!I'll be back soon with the list & my pick for UF.
ETA: Sorry to hear about your Stepfather, Mary. =(
ETA Again: I'm reading
for UF. I've heard from mucho amigos that it was super disappointing but I need to read it for myself. I don't think it's possible to have a horrid "Cat & Bones" book...but then again, I didn't think Eugenie could get any more stupid...& she did.

Loved:
- the easy flow of this book.
- the new take on demons...…in particular banchee soul screamers
- this book being the start of a new series, and being a worthy start - got me interested enough to buy the next one at least!
The only slight negative I had was the eventual climax being over and done with really simply.
…still a great book! :)
Finished my YA Fantasy book. The Forest of Hands and Teeth ★★★ 4/10/11
This book was very slow in the beginning. Lots of "Rock me, Sexy Jesus" worshiping going on. And the protagonist, Mary.... Outkast says it best: that was one crazy bitch.

OK, it took me a little longer to get plugged back into my life. Vacation is exhausting! ;PMy demon book for last week was
and here is Dana's The Darkest Secret Review. This was a great installement in the series, yippee!! I just love LoTU!Oh! I almost forgot, I'll be reading
for my Urban Fantasy book this week.
Sooooooo, I have to share my exciting news with you guys! (Well, it is exciting to me at least.) ;)I'm a LIBRARIAN!!!!!!
The library district was hiring for the first time in like 5 years so I threw in my lot. There were thousands of applicants so I can't believe it got it.....but I did!!!!! Yeah me!
I wasn't going back to work until September, but the library is like the Holy Grail of jobs for me so I had to come out of hiding for this...for sure. I just about peed my pants when they called me! I had to make more carpet angels ;)
*Dana is breathing in a paper bag to control her hyperventilation which luckily hides the dopey grin on her face.*
So that means we just have one more review needed to get the Demons stamp. Woohoo. I'm actually half finished with my UF book. I've been doing housework all day with my IPOD and the book playing. My IPOD's almost dead and I'm exhaused so I'll probably take a break soon.

Big huge congrats on the best job in the world. Could you tell I always wanted to be a Librarian?
Yippee!!! Dana
OMG! Congratulations, Dana! I'm so happy for you. I wouldn't mind being a librarian either. It's your job to read books, how cool is that?!
Thanks Sandra! It has got to be the coolest job ever! My retired neighbor was a librarian and says it is perfect for people like me...the ones who have enough credits to have 2 1/2 bachelors degrees, but can't make up their minds. ;) I'm like a crow when it comes to knowledge. I'll be plugging along and really interested in something and then bam! OH, shiny!!! And I'm off to learn the new, shiny thing. And thank you Amy! I know, reading books as a career? Nirvana!
