I have and I would say it is probably the weakest book in the series. It certainly took me the longest to finish. I actually read book 2 first and really enjoyed it, then went back to read book one as people seemed to not enjoy it as much.

Some of the earlier books do get a little bit repetitive, but overall I really liked the series. Dark Desire, the second book, was one I really enjoyed. I definitely think it's worth continuing. There were a lot of characters I liked as I read through the series, though a lot of them are in the later books.

If you haven't checked out the Study series from Maria V. Snyder or the Kate Daniels series from Ilona Andrews... WOW!!!!!!! Both series have really impressed me with their lead characters AND fast-paced, gritty action. I actually walked around the house with a book glued to my face so I could finish chores and not miss a second of the last Kate Daniels book. They are a little light on the actual romance, but there's so much going on that you don't notice it, really. Sooo good. (Just know that dinner may not turn out as good when you're cooking one-handed.) :)

Ashley, The Carpathian series does improve as it progresses (as does Feehan's writing) but Dark Symphony is worth skipping. It is horrible, adds nothing to the series and it doesn't flow with the rest of the books.

I'm the same way. I tend to read straight through a series, when possible. I've plowed through the Sookie Stackhouse series in under two weeks. I then read the first 3 of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series while waiting for book four.

Jessica - Most of the books listed above in my last posting are books I had around the house but hadn't got around to reading. 85% or so of the books I read in total for the year are from my local library.

As for my reading habits in general, a lot of the books I read this month were really quick reads (1.5 hours at the most for reading time) so I typically read 2 in an evening.

It is so hard finishing the last book on my list, especially when I checked out some really good ones last week.Tempest Rising was great to a certain point & then it just died on me.I'm going to have to force myself to finish this before the deadline.::sigh::

Gee! I loved Dark Symphony, maybe because it was different. I wasn't all that crazy about Gregori's story, but I know that's loved by many.

Ashley, if you plan on continuing the series, you'll want to finish Dark Prince, as what happens in those last pages is very important to the next book - Jacques' story in Dark Desire is also one of my favorites, Erin.

3 “Personal Demons” (Megan Chase #1) Stacia Kane ****(4-10-10) What a fun read. Fun, sexual tension, smokin sex scenes, and actully spooky in spots. Suspense too! I have the next right here and it is HARD not to dig in!
4 "Red Headed Stepchild" (Sabrina Kane #1) (4/21/10)***** I loved the way she tweaked the vampire/demon/mage/fairy mythos. Lilith is my patron goddess anyway so I couldnt help but be charmed. Cant wait to get my hands on next book!!
5 "Nightingales Lament" (Nightside #3) LOVED this book! **** (4/2/10) It was so snarky and imaginative. Think of a brothel you can go to and through dark magic, you can sleep with your favorite charicter from any fictional book or movie!! I would be there!
6 “Skin Game” (Skin #1) by Ava Grey (4/4/10)*** I was wanting a paranormal romance with heat and charicters I care enough to wanna be a voyer while they move towards getting together,--and some interesting paranormal stuff, and i got it here. Good first book to a new series. I will pick up the next.
