Jessica's Totally Over The Top Book Obsession
I gave it four stars because Regan made me want to shake the crap out of her. Poor Jagr didn't he live through enough but to have a stupid mate that pushed him away but other then her chicken ways making me wanna slap her the story was great
I love stories with loner/recluse heroes because there is always an element of healing and forming new relationships that take place.

In this book, the ornery Jagr was sent by his Anasso (Vampire King) Styx to find Darcy's missing sister Regan, and bring her back to Chicago in one piece. Darcy is the queen and wife to the Anasso Styx (see Book 3). The rest is the adventure of confronting one's demons, and deciding how they wanted to live their present and future. It was a tad angsty but full of a

5 Sexy Jägr Stars!

Jägr....swoon worthy and super yummy. I want a Jägr too. This one is my favorite, thus far, primarily because Jägr. And, his book was scrumptious. He was so strong, so suave and so very smart. My perfect book boyfriend for sure.

The descriptive writing in this book was perfect, and it allowed me to snuggle between the pages and feel the darkness of the night.

I really liked this one. It was definitely better than the last. Both of these characters are loners with Regan just coming into her own after being free. Jagr has been free for centuries and loner the whole time. He also suffered far longer. Still Styxx wants him to get out and possibly help Regan as they have somewhat similar backgrounds. What will happen when he does just that? Well Jagr empathizes but tries to keep it to himself. Regan is touchy, really, really touchy. I really like them get ...more

"Alexandra Ivy has me hooked on this series, craving it like I would the finest chocolates."

Alexandra Ivy created a winner with this combination of sexy, gorgeous hero, a courageous heroine who's more than a match for him, sly humor, action, magic and hot passion guaranteed to sizzle a page or two.

Regan, kidnapped and abused from young, is a pureblood Were who was finally rescued from her kidnapper, Culligan. However, when Culligan escaped, she vowed not to rest until she has him in her grasp an

I realize that a series based on the premise of the existence of vampires and werewolves is stretching credibility and therefore one should just run with it, but there are points where even in that sort of world, one has to say, "waitaminute" Such is this book.

So our h has spent her entire existence tortured and confined to a cage. She's free now and somehow is able to function in society? She can fight? She knows how to throw knives? Yeah... because well, you know, people who keep others captiv

Enjoyable read. The reclusive vampire hero is sent to rescue the vampire king's sister-in-law - who doesn't want to be rescued. By anyone. Especially a vampire with control issues...

Although reading a series in order is always better, it is not imperative with this one.

I read Darkess Unleashed in one sitting, I just couldn't put it down!
I felt so sorry for Jagr and I found myself screaming at Regan most of the time. But as always it all works out. I cant wait to read about what happens with salvadore, I just love all of her books and highly recommend them to anyone.

Fifth in the Guardians of Eternity paranormal romance series based in Chicago and revolving around a group of vampires. The couple focus is on Regan and Jagr and Hannibal, Missouri is the setting for this story.

My Take
Well, Jagr certainly has a unique method for shutting Regan up. It's also a nice workaround to Styx's orders that Regan be brought to Chicago without blemish. Styx has an ulterior motive to sending Jagr to fetch Regan. With his own horrific background, Jagr will be more understandi

3.5 stars -Physically Free, Yet Imprisoned By Their Pasts - Love Is The Key

Regan, one of Darcy's other quadruplet sisters is freed from 30 years of imprisonment and torture, and is on the hunt to wreck vengeance on her captor. Regan comes to the story with a whole lot of anger and baggage, apart from the psychological scars from her imprisonment and abuse, the rejection by the were-king Salvatore - because the non-shifting bioengineered pureblood Regan is sterile and of no use as a breeder - o

Not being familiar with the author, I picked this book up on a whim from the local library's book sale shelf. It has been on my TBR shelf for a while now; so I thought, eh, why not. WOW! It should come with a warning label. CAUTION: Events that occur may lead to spontaneous combustion.

Every relationship has its challenges and Jagr and Regan have them in spades. Jagr's an almost feral vampire that had been tortured for over 300 years and had to join a vampire clan that he considers more torture because they want to civilize and socialize him.

Regan is an altered werewolf that can't shift and has been tortured over 30 years and is on the run to avoid the socialization her sister and the vampires want to inflict on her. Jagr's tasked to find Regan and bring her to Chicago to be

This is a paranormal romance that uses all the cliches - brooding, damaged goods Alpha vampire is emotionally healed through his obsessive and devoted love for damaged goods, highly spirited heroine. If those cliches drive you nuts, pass this series by. If, on the other hand, you are a fan of Sherilyn Kenyon (and therefore like this formula), this is a good series to follow. This 5th book in the series focuses on Jagr, a hermetic vampire who was once tortured for 300 years, and a 30 year old gen ...more

A wherewolf feeling lost just released after 30 years of torture and a vampire who loves his solitude trying to help her re-unite with a long lost sister and her revenge she cant give up.
Loved it and love Regan and Jagrs story and the continued clues to Salvatore who disappeared at the end, now i have to hurry along to his story, =)
This book didn't dissapoint. It's just as good as the others. I loved Jagr and Regan. I have to say Styx is still my favorite.

This one has quite the cliffhanger. The story never slows so it keep you moving through the book with a flow.
“Dammit, woman, you’ve been trying to get rid of me since I arrived in Hannibal,” he rasped.
“Why would you suddenly want me to stay?”
She shrugged. “I’m a woman. I’m allowed to change my mind whenever I want, as many times as I want.”

One of Darcy’s werewolf sisters had been found by the Were king Savatore, but then she escaped. Styx had ordered the reclusive Jagr to find her and bring her home to her sister. But Regan’s had enough cages and just want to be left alone with her search for vengeance against the imp who’d enslaved her for most of her life.

Their relationship was moving back and forth so much it began to outshine the lot too much. Just when you thought things were headed the right way, one of them left of disappea

Who cares about exams when there is such a distracting novel waiting to be completed.

Yup, a very big distraction and i could not help but complete it.

Well this story is developing quite interestingly and i am so intrigued and curious. Ha!! What novel doesn't make me curious and i enjoy a deep fantasy series, such as this one.

I am loving the Guardians of Eternity series.

Darkness Unleashed tell the story of Jagr(love the name!), ancient vampire and former Visigoth chief and Regan, genetically engineered female werewolf and sister to Darcy, Styx's mate.

Jagr just wants to be alone with his books when he is called into a meeting by Styx, the Anasso. He is given the mission to find Regan, who was held captive all her life by an imp. Unhappily, Jagr takes on his task, tracks down Regan and finds himself with a angry, atti

I received this book from the author for a honest review. It was very well written and I also received nine more books from this author and I'm going to start on them immediately! Regan was so hard headed but that's the way the story went. Loved all the male vampires, Jagr and Styx. Goodreads let me enter to win these books which I am very thankful.

I keep reading these, hoping they will get better, but they seem to keep getting more trope filled. The actual storylines are getting better, but wow. Tiny women, big strong males. The use of the words "rasp" and "husk". Does everyone has strep throat in her books?

I'm not exactly sure when I fell in love with books. Probably on my mother's knee listening to her read Dr. Seuss to me.
