???

Question: Anyone knows if the MacCarrick Brothers trilogy has PNR influences?

I've decided to sit out of this one. I've got too many books on my TBR list that I'm dying to read. But I'll be checking back here to see what everyone is reading (so I can add more books to my TBR list) and watching for the April challenge! Have fun!

Gemmi, we're going to start re-reading the BDB in March. One book per week. So be sure to add Dark Lover to your list, or have it as an extra book :)
Tara knows the exact date but I believe we're starting half March.

Nope, they don't. They are standard historical romance. Hated the first one, enjoyed the second, and loved the third.
In a post I made in February's challenge thread, I mentioned that you can include up to 3 books that are non-PNR, if you really want to read it for the month. So I'm making that an official rule.

Unfortunately, that would put too much work for Mel W, who is doing the updates, for her to keep scrolling back to dig out old posts.
Furthermore, we don't get alerted over a post that was edited, so we would have no idea how many times we have go back to check someone's entry where they are in the challenge.
Plus some people just hangout in the thread to discuss and review books that have been read.

I'll just have to make do with the 2 quarterly and 1 monthly challenge i've gotten myself into over in the RRR group. March is gonna be a busy month!!!

I had no clue that there was going to be a sequel to The Host. I was the one who added it to the stand-alone list. Finding stand-alone PNR books is difficult. Especially for someone like me who LOVES series books because I never want a good story to end.

I am just like you! I don't like stand alones much at all or anthologies! I want to continue the Host series since I have now heard she is continuing it :) I think I am going to sit this one out or wait and see if I have enough books. I don't want to buy any for this challenge my TBR pile of books I actually own is too big. I also have books I have started and never finished. I think I will be focusing on the "Personal Challenge" that Archer started for a while.

I say we count The Host as a stand alone. There have been rumors that she will be coming out with sequals to it for a few years, but nothing for certain has ever been announced as far as I know. I'm planning on it as one of my alternate books incase I just can't get into the ones that I currently have listed!

2. Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffenegger

Only Child
10.
I'm missing a couple but I'll see what books I have left over from febs reading challenge and I'll finish my list then.

Lets all admit that no PNR book should be considered stand alone! I took the host off my list and now it looks like I will have to take Hush Hush off. I say if it is not a mass paperpack and the first book with rumors of a sequel, we should count it! That was I can read two books I have been craving!

You girls have fun.

A word for the Stand-Alone category....
If there is no working cover, official title or announcement of a second book...we will consider a book as a Stand-Alone.

Because Your Vampire Said So

Stepheniey Meyers homepage doesn't list anything new with the Host...I'm not sure if that can give you a loophole to read it as a stand-alone book? Plus, I don't know how she'll sequel that unless she's starting a series...I'd never heard that either...weird

Out of morbid curiosity I googled it and found out that she said in an interview that she's planned it as a trilogy. It's also on the Wikipedia page for The Host.

The second October Daye book is out - I've got a friend on here reading it already and I know that my store has it in stock, I just haven't gone to get it yet. The second Succubus book came out in January as well. The werewolf book I'm not familiar with but I looked and it's part of a series so I'm not sure if that counts? Also, the Kate Daniels books aren't a trilogy, the fourth one comes out in a few months so the overarching storyline hasn't been finished either.
Sorry, I don't mean to rain on your parade and tear apart your list! Just thought I'd point those things out. At least you picked some good books!

TO READ

Read all my reviews: Tara's read and reviewed
lol Tara--really? Well, depending on how you count it--I'm either #2 of 4, #3 of 5, #3 of 6 #2 of 5 or #3 of 7. (lots of premmies/still births in the family.) Counting only those who lived past their 6 month birthday, I'm #2 of 4--or #2 of 5, depending on if you count my half-brother--who is only 2 years older than my daughter (which makes him 5 years younger than the oldest nephew and 3 year younger than the oldest niece. I tend to count him more as another nephew than a brother. (Shrugging) ah well, I'm just going to go as #2--since that's really how I think of myself.

It's a fun read, so I would recommend it. :)
