No, we dont want special tasks just for us

Ok, ok... we are NOT special! *snort* LOL!!!

I think I have had that Donna... But I've been a bit all over the place so wasn't sure if it was GR or me 🤪 (Should have known for sure it was GR!)
And I agree was are all special (not in the derogatory way) - but I we definitely don't need special tasks 😂🤣

Task 15 - 65. Each player reads 2 books in a series, teammates can read the same or different series. No pass for this task.
This is not a team decision, you can read any series listed on GR for this task. Each teammate needs to read 2 books in the same series to complete this task. In between books count as long as they meet the other challenge requirements. So, Jane reads two books in a series, Donna can read two books in a different series and so on.

Even though I thoroughly enjoyed this... there were a few missed opportunities that I would have loved to have seen fleshed out. Otherwise, the action kept me entertained and even though the romance was more of a bromance, it seemed to work for Clay and Elliot!

So these book really should be read in order. The characters from previous books are all connected so it would be confusing otherwise. In this one we have Jamie who is Blake's long lost son from #2 and Shay who is Blake's BFF and one of the Kelly clan. We just knew this was going to get complicated but their relationship was so fun Shay didn't stand a chance. Poor bastard. I really enjoy this series and am looking forward to the next episode!

So in this episode we get the Kelly clan member Brendon who is "straight" and his childhood friend Wade. Wade and his son have just moved back to NY after his divorce and he needs a house remodel. Enter Brendon, the contractor. What starts out a hilarious "let's just rub our junk together to get off" encounter ends up kind of hot. Just saying. The addition of Wade's son was also a hilarious addition. Brendon didn't do so well explaining what certain things were. Made me lol. Loved the dynamic between these two and as always, the Kelly chat was entertaining as hell.

Book 8 in the Cambridge Fellows Series
The Great War has ended as we start this book and some things have changed.
Orlando is left by himself with those close to him gone. Mr & Mrs Stewert have passed due to the Spanish Flu.
Orlando does take a commission to find a man missing after the War and that leads him to a discovery.
I liked this book and had I not been reading it 9 years after it was first published I would probably have been crying through most of it.
I do wonder though if this was meant to be the last book in the series as I found the epilogue to be most odd.

I love JL's cozy mysteries for all that the MCs are incredibly similar in plot line motives, friction and decisions. Can't beat a good amateur detective ;) This one had great atmosphere and character, setting and motives. Look forward to the next book!
Narrated by Matt Haynes- a new to me narrator but he did an excellent job, although I felt the MCs' tones should be swapped. No real idea why 🤣

Task 15 - COMPLETION POST (Book 2)
65: Each player reads 2 books in a series, teammates can read the same or different series. No pass for this task.

191 pgs/GR
Read: 4/13 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (IF the grammatical errors had been worse, this would have been a 3-star read for me... this series should be baked in the oven... cookie-cutter from beginning to end... grrr)
Once again, missed opportunities... grrr
As a person that "plays" with paint and a shit ton of other art forms... I really like the look inside Theo's head about his art and the fact that it drew Grant in. But (isn't there always a "but" these days?) except for the first book of this series, there just isn't a lot of "feels" between the two MCs. I got more from Lydia and Blair than I did Theo and Grant... why is that, I wonder. Hmmm...
I just realized that I had to go back to see what Theo's name was when writing this review, but "Lydia and Blair" just jump right out of my head... I guess that is what happens when the side characters are better written than the MCs are... :(
The question now is, do I continue or just walk away? I guess we will see...

A rather good mystery with quite a few twists and turns as well as Orlando becoming a professor at St Bride's.

Man, I haven't read one of these books in forever and now I know why. I can't put my finger on what exactly I didn't enjoy but I didn't love it. It was okay, but just that. Kind of cheesy but will admit the last part of the book made me quite the cry baby. I didn't dislike but can't say I'd recommend it either.

This was by far, my least favorite Mary Calmes book to date...
Everything seemed to come too late, or not at all! It's hard to explain. But imagine grabbing your Pepsi bottle to take a big drink and when the liquid hits your taste buds... it is just plain water. :(
There were a few interesting scenes, but overall I wasn't even impressed with the side characters.
I am sure, that sometime in the future I will continue this series... just NOT today.

I really enjoyed this book. Not much angst and some UST.
Journey is a photojournalist who travels the world and is called back after his father has a stroke. Guess what, he finds his ex fiance is now living next door.
A good read, lots of doggy moments and a dog whose name is changed every day.

It's been a while since I've read one of these stories and I forgot how freaking fun they are. Bull is the big, gentle giant cowboy and Fox is the crazy ass SWAT member we met in the last book. He wasn't nearly as hardened as some of the others in this series and I loved that about him. I mean his is a bad ass and has had a crappy life so far but he wanted a man of his own and lots of love. So sweet. He goes to Bull's farm to help him out with some vandals after being suspended and things just take of from there. The characters on the farm added all the fun to this one and now I can't wait for the next book. Grrrr.

Both MCs are in their 40s (Dare and Stone) - one grumpy and one Mr Happy. They were a really cute combination once we dug below the surface (esp for Dare) and Stone settled. Loved the dogs. An easy read and great narration by Tim Paige and Liam DiCosimo.

Interesting book. A lord enlists the help of a jewel thief to steal some jewellery from his step mother to pay back past deeds.
Of course along the way the Lord and the thief fall in love. A good story with a clever twist I didn't see coming.
