The first task from memory in the last round wasn't on the list, so we still have a few days to get sorted.

First call is on Monday 15 March at 6 PM US EDT.

I'll be driving and then preparing for a half day meeting, so I'll pick my book well after the call :)

I set my alarm because we are in a different time zone than what my devices say!

BTW: I didn't understand what you were saying about #99, but if Kat says no, then I will go back and post the first book of each series as my favorite... which, in hindsight, I should have done in the first place! *headdesk* ;p

Or I simply add the first book when I do up the post :)

Out of Uniform - next book is 3 but I might just reread book 1 since I don't remember much of them!
Finding Home - haven't read any
Out in College - haven't read any

We could possibly go with the Soulbound series as but that may be best saved for #9?

Shannon rec'd the second two series for #82, so assume she is right for both.

All otherwise are rereads for Donna? but she is OK with that?

message 56: by Donna (last edited Mar 11, 2021 06:13PM) (new)

Donna (donnaburks61) | 1287 comments Soulbound is fine for me for #9 and I don't mind doing re-reads for a challenge, I just won't do them for everyday reading! Since I can't remember the stories, I don't have the desire to go back and re-read my favorites, because I can't ever remember that they are my favorites... grrr

message 57: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (mooselover) | 2724 comments Soulbound is fine for me. Havent read anything in that series

message 58: by Shannon (new)

Shannon (pokey36) | 1992 comments Not really my jam but I'll read something from Soulbound. I've apparently read book one but don't remember one thing about it. Not unusual really.

Shannon (pokey36) | 1992 comments What about the Better Than series from Lane Hayes. It has audiobooks for all of them and it doesn't look like you guys have read them yet. They're also not all that long. Around 200 pages.

message 61: by Shannon (new)

Shannon (pokey36) | 1992 comments Okay, these are my 5 favorite books....than are between 160-180 pages. :) The last two have audiobooks!!

Hey, I have thousands of other series that I can read, so you guys go with what works for you and I will follow... maybe find one with a more group-friendly theme! What do Jane and Lisa like to read for fun? *hoping to get ideas for book recs... *grin*

OK, full disclosure here... I had NO idea what a body farm was either... I guess I am just going to have to Google it!! *snort* LOL!!!

Donna (donnaburks61) | 1287 comments As for my shelf to pick from... I am so sorry, just pick something that you have recently read and loved... I tried to make a shelf and it wasn't working for me! grrr

I just don't keep track of things as you guys do... I just read whatever catches my eye and, of course, if it is in a series, I read the whole series if time permits... *headdesk* ;p

(It was the son of our friends so lots of youngies there who camped overnight at the race track where the funeral was held - so big clean up this morning along with cooking 😍)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Lisa - when you have time, could you please supply your rec's to each of us (#12) and your 5 favourite books (#99) for me to add to the final list?

Otherwise I *think* we are up to date...

message 76: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments I'm not sure why we have rec'd two books to each teamie for #12, but I figure we will just go with the first recommendation from each teamie unless we have since read that book in which case, we go with the second rec :)

message 77: by Donna (new)

Donna (donnaburks61) | 1287 comments Jane, not sure I can read Reindeer Games as it is book 6 of a series that I haven't started yet... should I go with your second rec (if we get task 12) or try to read the first 5 books?

I haven't read the other books either - the books in this series are all written by different authors but have a shop in town in common (Ace's Wild or something)... But if reading out of order like this disturbs you, please go with the second rec :)

Well, as long as the series is not a continued story it works well for me! I just can't drop into the middle of a story (series)... it has happened a couple of times by accident and drove me bonkers! I am sure I will enjoy it immensely! Thanks! :D

I'm normally anal about reading in order as well, but when they are all written by different authors I just read the books that really interest me :)

Vale Valley comes to mind! They are hit and miss for me... I have a tendency to just read the authors that I really like and just jump over the rest.

I am easy which one to read, they are all new to me so Id be book 1 except Out of Uniform where I would be on book 6

From a logistical standpoint, Rosavia Royals might work best for us... that way we don't need to worry about who has read what book, or any series with a different author for each book.

I have all 5 books, so I am good with reading any of them!

When we have to read from the same series, it needs to be a different book in that series, we cant all read the same book. ;)
Im easy as to which series we read.

Yeah, I understood that, I just meant that if they don't have to be read in a certain order it would be easier for us each to pick a book without worrying about which book we read last in the series... you see what I mean?

message 90: by Shannon (new)

Shannon (pokey36) | 1992 comments I'm good with Rosavia Royals.

message 91: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Suits me :) As you are right - we can just slot in around whichever one works for each of us.

I have read book 2 in that series but that's it...

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Ok - I've updated the lists for Lisa's recs and Rosavia Royals as the selection.

Is there anything else to be tied down?

Maybe for #1 (if it pops up) the person who posts after the call, picks an author? ...Otherwise we should narrow that list and I'm thinking the authors with predominantly longer books (eg Gregory Ashe, Lisa Oliver and Hailey Turner) should be removed?

The Cronin's Key series, Thomas Elkin series, Imago series, Spencer Cohen series, and several stand-alone books are near or less than 200 pages!
