Do you catch yourself daydreaming about exciting adventures in faraway lands? If you're suffering from wanderlust, then a world reading trip might just be the cure.
Imagine you have won an airplane ticket for a round-the-world flight, with as many stops as you desire. At each stop you will read a book set in that country.
Your challenge is to plan your reading trip by identifying the countries you wish to visit. The airline insists that your travel must be in one direction only, either heading west-bound or east-bound around the world. So, you can travel from Canada>England>Greece>China>Canada, but not Canada>China>England>Greece>Canada.
In this non-competitive challenge, you start by planning your trip and identifying the countries you will visit with your special ticket. You can visit any number of places, always heading in one direction with north/south zig-zags allowed (e.g. UK, Spain, France). Remember to finish your list back at the start. Then add the book you will read in each country. Once it has been read, mark the date. The world map will be updated when books are finished (see Message 3).
Your route can change as the year progresses. Books can be added anytime to your country list. Read the books in any order. Just keep editing your post as you progress.
Passport Control Bonus - depending on where you travel as you go around the world you can get visa stamps. Total up how many continents you have visited at the end of your trip to see what category of traveler you fall under.
(the seven major continents counted are: Europe, Africa, Asia, North America, South America, Antarctica, Australia)
Wayfarer: 0-3 visa stamps
Voyager: 4-6 visa stamps
Globetrotter: 7 visa stamps
Bon Voyage World Readers!
