I have no idea what cover I'll get. I checked my order on DCBS's website, and it doesn't say. Where the cover image would show, there's just a broken file. I guess I'll find out in a few weeks!
As for why I'm getting it, I'm a sucker for Bronze Age stories from both DC and Marvel. I never read the Defenders as a kid, but I've always liked the B-List characters and the Defenders has those in spades (not counting the Hulk). Plus it has some of the Bronze Age's creative heavyweights: Roy Thomas, Steve Engelhart, and Len Wein on scripts, and Sal Buscema and Ross Andru on art, with a bunch of other guys who must have done a few bits here and there (Lee, Ditko, Kane, Starlin, Kirby, et al.). That's just from the product listing, and I'm interested in seeing what shows up in this volume.
IIRC, the Defenders ran for over 100 issues, so it must have been pretty decent by the standards of the time.

I have no idea wha..."
Thanks - that is super helpful to just hear summarized. I struggle with picking up every omni (which I have obviously abandoned and in fact have more and more sold off stuff I couldnt get through or read and didnt love. I have been leaning towards getting the Golden and Bronze stories, so I think this is a likely pick up for me and will shoot for the Giant-Size cover if possible. Thanks again!
It looks like IST has the two DM covers posted in their coming soon section (Amazon usually has the regular cover): https://www.instocktrades.com/comingsoon
I'd lean towards the Kane cover just because it's the most classic.

Thunderbolts was also supposed to come out this week but has been pushed apparently.
First week in a long time I let the 2% go.
Nick I’m in your boat. I have so much that I’m letting go of things I’ve read and didn’t absolutely love. Also letting go of things that I realize I’ll never take the time to read.

I ordered the Batman/Superman Generations Byrne omnibus to keep mine going along with The Batman's Grave HC. I think it's standard size but at 12 issues of content it should be fairly thick.
I need to buckle down and get some of my to-read pile knocked out. I read most of the new Superman Last Son last night. I don't know that I would list it as a top tier Superman story and there are actually multiple stories in the DLX volume.

Have not read Last God, but did add it to my order, just because the cover looked like something I would enjoy. I'm picking up witchblade vol 2, though I thought I saw that it was available in HC too, just like Volume 1.
Anyone know where Thunderbolts went? I've got it preordered on DCBS, but thought it was out last week.

Very light order of new stuff for me today as I ordered the DLX Death in the Family book. Interesting to see they are saying there is never before released content included. Also ordered the Neil Gaiman Library Edition 1 off my wish list to get up to free shipping.
I’ve been thinking about getting that Death on the Family book also. While it’s not my favorite, it’s on my list of stories that should always in Batman canon, regardless of how many times DC messes with their timelines.

I bought it in TPB a few years ago because it was such a significant story and I hadn't read it before. Kinda crazy to think they actually let fans vote whether Robin died or not and went with his death based on fan input. And then it turned into such a transformative moment for the character that impacted his story for so many years.
An interesting story would be: What if Robin killed the Joker? Have Robin beat the Joker to death and look at how that impact his relationship with Batman and his life (has someone already done this?).

Interesting. I've heard very little about this story but the little I've heard hasn't been positive.

According to bleeding cool: X-Men by Hickman OMNIBUS in December. Hmm, issues 12-14 are in the X of Swords omnibus. Where's 15? Maybe a typo somewhere.

I'm very happy I held off and waited and only picked up HoX/PoX given all the negativity around the series... Could have been magnificent if they bothered to time travel to the various time lines in HoX/PoX... Maybe Hickman's new title will do this. If so and it is done well I'll be all over that!

What is/was some of the negativity? I haven't heard much but I live in a shell and don't hear much.
I'm curious if this Hickman "run" will end and the X-Men status quo will all change again. I haven't been able to keep up with the book so I'm not sure what's currently going on in there.

Essentially nothing has happened. There has been no Phaklanx, no Moira and only a slight reveal of Nomrod. Instead there has been elections, dance offs when there should have been combat and Kitty masquerading as a pirate...

With some natural light streaming in on my collection here today I have noticed that some of the Marvel omnibus' red 'Marvel Omnibus' labels at the top of the spine are slightly off red, more of a pinkish hue and noticeably different than their neighbors.
I've observed this on the Jim Lee X-Men 1, Astonishing X-Men, Byrne Fantastic Four 1, and Amazing Spider-Man 2.
Does anyone else see this on those editions or have my books gotten sun bleached. Thanks -

No you didn't miss it. It is suppose to come out today, however there have been problems to get either Witchblade and The Darkness from the Direct Market for some reason. So keep an lookout for the book from the Book Market so you do not miss out.

"As of right now, InStockTrades & Tales of Wonder have not received their weekly direct shipment from Diamond Distributors containing the new release items for today, April 20th. Our Lunar shipment arrived safely so we will be able to offer the new DC titles today at 3pm EST but other publisher books will be delayed. We will make books available upon arrival of the Diamond shipment.
The InStockTrades 2% Loyalty Discount has been extended from 8 days to 11 days to make up for the delay in products. If necessary, we can further the extension for this promotion based on when our shipment arrives.
The second important topic is delayed packages...
Last week we had about 1,000 USPS Media Mail packages that appeared to be sitting in our warehouse with shipping dates ranging from March 8th- April 12th. Majority of these packages showed a tracking status of “Shipping Label Created, USPS Awaiting Item”. Please know that we have daily (Monday-Friday) pickups at our warehouse for USPS, UPS, & FedEx. It may have looked like these packages were sitting in our warehouse but in reality, they have been in possession of the shipping company. We contacted our USPS representative when we became aware of this issue and have been in communication with them, trying to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. As of Monday April 19th, there are now only 200 USPS Media Mail packages from March 8th - April 12th that have yet to be processed by USPS. We have found that 9 times out of 10 these packages do get delivered to the customer so we ask that customers continue to be patient. We are doing everything in our power to get these packages moving as soon as possible."
Thanks for that note Joseph! It's possible we might not see all of those titles today. Or perhaps they will post them but not be able to start shipping until they get the books in.
Now that Marvel moved away from Diamond, I wonder if there isn't some "lack of caring" going on, or just coincidence. I hope they email us before they put them online.

So do I.. Though, I'd rather just have them active at the normal time, and just wait for the stock to come in before they ship it. That said, they probably don't know how many they'll have and don't want to oversell.
