Erik, agree on Batman Damned. It sounds the Black Label thing is a bit of a Vertigo replacement. While they talked about it being more adult oriented, their main audience has been adults for some time. And, looking at some of their older material it seems like it's more outside continuity based versus being more serious themes or events.
Yeah, I'm in for the Hickman hardcover too. His other material has been very good so I have high hopes for this series. The buzz from single issue readers has been pretty positive which is a good sign.

So most of the videos are of him picking an issue or series and summarizing what has occurred, or at the very least framing the context for previous events. In the case of Hox/PoX, he has been reading X Men for longer than I have been alive so he points out connections/call backs/Easter eggs I would have never have picked up on. Regardless of the video, he presents in an energetic manner that gets even more into a series. He has a huge library of videos at this point, so going back and watching some videos of your favorite series is a blast. He's really worth checking out!
Finished reading TPB volume 1 of Fairlady from Image Comics last night. The story takes place after a war in a fantasy realm as people are going back trying to live normal lives. Our main character is a woman breaking into the detective business.
While she has a feline race partner, he's not developed much as a character and doesn't feature prominently as I expected him to.
The book contains several stories where the main character is hired on a case and tries to solve it. There are some recurring characters and the stories build on each. The first story or so was good but nothing great. Then, there was a story about an assignment to find a book. I laughed out loud during this one and I'm in for the likely second volume.
I don't love buying paperbacks. However, many of the Image series won't be getting hardbacks so the only options are hard copy or digital single issues or the paperbacks. Compounding the challenge, series that don't get high sales for single issues/TPB are even more unlikely to get hardcover attention. For these reasons, I've continued to sample paperback collections of series that sound interesting.

I get the whole dilemma of not supporting the single issues results in no collected edition but in today's digital society I think this is possible:
Instead of buying physical single issues, let me pay for digital single issues that I read on a particular website. If I want to buy the hardcover I could then "cash in" my digital copies for a coupon on a hardcover. After that coupon is used, access to the digital copies could be disabled if the publisher desired (depending on how all the profits work out.). The cash in value and coupon value would have to be reasonable.
This would allow people to try the series without "double dipping" spending, and support the series enough to justify a collected edition.

Golden Age of Marvel Comics Omnibus
Amazing Spider-Man Omnibus vol. 1
Monsterbus vol. 2
Marvel Masters of Suspense Omnibus vol.1
Cosmic Odyssey Deluxe Edition
The Flash/Green Lantern :Brave and the Bold Deluxe Edition
Superman vs. Muhammad Ali Deluxe Edition
Superman: Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow Deluxe Edition
Rick, looks like a nice haul. :)
I like the idea about a discount code for people that buy digitally. Not sure what the profit margins look like there. Obviously there is likely some kind of split between the publisher, the digital content provider, and the creator for Image material.

Yeah, without knowing all the ins and outs, maybe it isn't doable. It's probably more possible for the big publishers, but the Indies I'm sure couldn't do it. However, at least for me, the barrier of "double dipping" (buying something twice) and no longer wanting "singles" is keeping me from supporting a book on a monthly basis. Then again, maybe I'm in the minority.
It just seems to me the current model is headed for failure. The cost of monthly comics is way past sustainable, IMO, but I could be so out of touch with today's buyers that maybe they don't care?

Pretty Deadly (solid 7/10 great art, good plot, genre salad. Not omnibus edition)
Saga (8/10 funny quirky and smart)
Y: the Last Man (waiting i queue)
Blackwater (waiting in queue)
The Boys (waiting in queue)
Punisher Max (-//-)
Absolute Preacher (-//- no idea what to expect here)
Ex Machina (I really enjoy B.K. Vaughan)
Locke & Key
Trees.

Yes. :)
I read the first Pretty Deadly and was intrigued. I know the second book appeared to have a jump in time and I just haven't gotten around to picking it up.
I may be in the minority but I thought Saga started really strong but my like of it lessened with each hardcover. My favorite character, The Will and his lying cat, seemed totally awesome in the first hardcover but is wasted as a character the rest of the way.
I've been curious about Wicked + Devine but it seems to get consistent meh type reviews. I loved Gillen's Loki run, really loved the beginning of his new series, Die, but haven't loved anything else I've tried.
Not a big horror fan, but Locke and Key is very good horror.

Definitely in the right place! Welcome Margrethe!
Preacher has lots of black humor and violence but I enjoyed it quite a bit. Generally I don't care for horror but Locke and Key was excellent. It isn't so much "blood and gore" either. Someday I'm going to get to Ex Machina...

Wicked and Devine . . . Read the first two DLX as it was so hyped . . . I don’t know why people like it; very boring to me.
Anyone add any or having trouble keeping getting any whales that aren’t from the big two?
I think I’ve crossed nearly all of mine off (some because of reprint announcements)
Only one I can’t catch is the Usagi Yojimbo HC Vol 1. I want to keep it at $200, which I think is doable, but all the recent offerings on eBay have been damaged or simply too ridiculous in price.
Anyway, would like to hear from y’all of some, maybe something I don’t know about.

I finished Lone Wolf & Cub and the Samurai Executioner both were Omnibus 1.
LW&C has 12 volumes in this format with only a few being at normal price and the rest between $70-$120 each on the after market.
SE only has 4 volumes, but 2&3 are sold out and starting to go up in price.
Swung through the LCS (I average every 8-12 weeks just to clear out my box). I was going to clean out my box and close my account as I’m just not willing to shell out $4 per issue anymore. (Probably still for a few titles just to keep the complete run going in the collection, but LCS requires 10 subs to hold a pull box).
Long story short, didn’t cancel the box as I came across every volume of LW&C Omnis and SE Omnis at cover price. Would never have known but for going to clean out the box. What an awesome occurrence. I had priced it out and second market best prices were going to cost me roughly $600. I was just going to say forget it and hope another printing came out in Omni format in the future. Saved mucho dinero and completed two collections today and had no intention or thought to do so when I woke up this morning.

Congrats Eric! Those are awesome circumstances that led to a good amount of money saved! Wish I had an LCS when I’m at but nothing in the immediate area. Last place I lived at had a few but they were nothing special. I don’t think I’ll ever find a shop that’ll replace the one from when I was a kid!
Just got in the mail from CBCS my signed copy of The Eternals #15. Graded at a 9.6 and VSP cleared: its a Jack Kirby signature. So happy I finally went through that process of verification. Short of having him signing something in person, next best option for a fan like me that was too young to appreciate his significance before he died.

The one on the right is a high quality scan of the signature I did before sending it in.

Awesome finds. :) Early in the third Executioner volume there is a story that would make a pretty awesome movie. It reminded me a little bit of High Noon.
Congrats on getting Kirby's signature verified. Very cool. :)

@noelbeast The Kirby signature is fantastic! Smart idea to scan it first before it got graded. I'm amazed at how neat and straight his signature is.
@Erik, can't believe they held all those volumes for you in your box! Lucky day to find all that though.

I still remember a couple of years ago I decided to buy LW&C omnibus, but found vol 3 was out everywhere. Finally found it on BAM, but hesitated because online review for BAM was so bad. Still pulled the trigger with the list price plus shipping, and received it in perfect condition. A couple of months later, vol 3 became available again everywhere.

I should add I own three Punisher MAX volumes (3,6 and 7) that wait to be read, all of them by different author.
I'm not interested in purchasing ALL of the books in series. But one whole story would be neat :)
Help a damsel in distress.

Everyone says the Garth Ennis run is the best. It's definitely the longest, but I disagree. The Jason Aaron run was my favourite.
The Marvel Max universe is different than the normal Marvel universe. It's supposed to be darker, grittier, more violent, and not in continuity with the rest of the Marvel universe.
The Punisher Max main content is by Ennis. Jason Aaron followed up the Ennis run with a 22 issue run that ended the series. There are two omnibus hardcovers with the Ennis run and an third with Aaron's run. I assume your hardcovers are the slimmer volumes from within the Ennis run based on the numbers you mentioned.
Remender's Punisher run was in the normal Marvel continuity (not the Max universe). It contained a bit more mystical/fantastical elements that the usual street level vigilante justice types punisher stories we usually see. I thought it was a fun series but it's not typical.
Gerry Conway is one of the creators of the Punisher. His material is early in the Punisher career and should fit in the normal Marvel continuity.

Rel and Cheese said most of it.
In short, when dealing with long titles in comics, they are almost always going to have multiple authors, all usually working within the same long continuity. The length of their run is t always determined and rarely the same; I.e. Claremont did Uncanny X-Men for more than a decade.
There are a few exceptions to this, like Savage Dragon and other independent titles such as Elf Quest, that have always had the same writer, but books that have been being published for decades, like Punisher, are going to have multiple authors.
An authors run will sometimes become well known and revered by some as truly iconic; again, Claremont on X-Men, Simonson on Thor, Miller on Daredevil, Geoff Johns on Green Lantern (I’m still too stubborn to give Bendis the credit he deserves). This is sometimes a good place to start. Ellis, on Punisher Max is one of these that most would agree is among the better Punisher Stories. The Punisher Max is different than what I described above however, because it’s outside the normal continuity (a different universe)
The Punisher Max series with Ellis has two omnibus and there is a third omnibus of Punisher by Ennis that isn’t titled Max and I believe these are stories in the MU before he jumped to Max.

Most of the Omnibus I'm looking for will be filled next year. I am still looking for a couple marvel masterworks:
Inhumans V1
Black panther V1 (unless they collect it on a new Omnibus, which really, why haven't they?)
Can't really think of anything that's not the big two.

I am hoping that at least the Spider-Man one will be reprinted soon. It is Spider-Man after all.

The early Valiant DLXs would be great to add to my collection as well.

I know the ones you mean, I actually have all five from that collection. Thrawn, Dark Empire Trilogy, Crimson Empire Saga, and Lagacy vols 1-3.
Took me forever because as you said, the prices are just ridiculous. That's something you learn as a collector, to be patient. If you wait around long enough eventually some schmuck will put a £150 book up for £10, completely oblivious to its true value.
For whales,
I need the OHC of Siegfried vol 1 by Alex Alice (I have 2 and 3) Ring of Nibelung HC by Craig Russell
Kabuki Library Edition vol 3 (I think it is three, I read vol 1 and then was going to wait till I had the set to continue but missed the hard to find volume)
X-Men Inferno OHC (I have most of the oversize omnibus/OHC of Marvel's X-Men).
Usagi Yojimbo Saga vol 1 HC by Dark Horse (I have all the other HCs)
I need two or three more of the Ultimate Spider-Man OHCs to complete the set.
I gave the Crimson Empire HC away as a gift planning on getting myself a copy but ran out of time to find one at a good price. I have the three Star Wars Legacy hardcovers. Some of the best Star Wars comics out there. There is a oversize hardcover of the main story from Crimson Empire from Dark Horse that I do have, but the standard size HC has more content.

Can anyone confirm the Batman: The Man who Laughs (by Brubaker) is a standard sized hardcover?

It is standard size, matte paper. (It's by Snyder.)
It’s a little confusing but the one I’m referring to is an older book collecting a story with by Brubaker. The one by Snyder is the more recent Batman Who Laughs.
Jesse wrote: "can anyone speak to Baltimore? I just ordered the first omnibus but I've never read it. only heard some random things."
I also haven't read any of the material but will be ordering it this week as well. The omnibus will be standard size but much thicker than your average comic hardcover. The value for your money is pretty decent. WWI horror/adventure sounds interesting and we know Mignola is a good writer so I have hopes it will be something I really enjoy. :)
I haven't read the Man Who Laughs by Brubaker unless it is contained in his Gotham Central or Catwoman run?
In Image news from NYC comic-con, they announced for 2020, the return of The Godamned, Die!Die!Die!, Low, Nailbiter, and Saga along with new material from various creators (no details about new material that I saw) including Brubaker, Sean Phillips, Hickman, Josh Williamson, Kirkman, Mark Millar, Matt Fraction, Jeff Lemire, Skottie Young, Jim Shooter, Marjorie Liu, Terry Dodson, Kieron Gillen, Jason Aaron, and Remender among others.
It will be interesting to see what new stories we end up seeing come out. I was thinking Low was going to be finished. Interesting to see if this is going to be some sort of brief coda or a whole new story arc.

Doh! So sorry. I totally misread that, likely because I just started the Snyder yesterday ...

I have read the 8 HC volumes in - what felt like - one sitting. It is a gritty story with more and darker horror elements than Hellboy. I really enjoyed them and look forward to repeat the experience with the two omnis coming out.

Happy to hear about LOW. I love most things Remender when he is doing science fiction. Low was one of my favorite series of his; I was truly surprised how much I liked it, considering how no one I know talks about it. The art is beautiful.
The DLX that has been out for well over a year, is volume 1 and volume 2 has officially been announced for release.
I went through some of Remender's Twitter account and got a little more info.
The last four issues of Low come out Spring 2020
The last issue of Black Science (#43) came out Sep 2019

Great info. Thanks!
The Baltimore Omnibus HC is sold out on IST. I expect they will get more in as this seems to happen with many of the Dark Horse books.
I did order the Elric Stormbringer DLX. The first book (The Ruby Throne) was pretty cool. If you are interested in dark fantasy in a very large hardcover this series is worth looking into.
