Frustrating isn't it! I picked up some filler last week to take advantage of an additional 2% this week . . . everything I was looking forward to didn't drop . . . maybe books next week. In light of the slow week, I'll post a pic update in a bit.

Same - but we'll see how many things end up slipping like they did in Oct. I really wish Descender vol 2 was coming out a bit earlier so I could send it as a Christmas present to my brother overseas.

29 Oct 19 - Berserk HC vol 3
29 Oct 19 - Harrow County Library Edition vol 4 (final book)
5 Nov 19 - Alien Defiance Library Edition

Almost an identical list for me Rel, + & - a few.
Since it's been a slow week, here's an update on what's laying around the house, sometimes literally. Disappointed with how many are hiding in cabinets . . . but one day we will build onto the home and I can have a room to myself; you people in the north with your basements and attics don't know how good you have it . . . at least I get a beach.
Here is the Inifinity Box Set, I'm showing it like this for people who don't really know what they are. The other pics of the box sets are sad in that they are literally in a cabinet . . . one day they will come out.
The TMNT IDW HC collection . . . with no where to be placed, just sitting on my dresser. Man does it get me excited to build out my own room for these books, statues most of you haven't seen, and my Alex Ross Canvas.
Now for the real disappointing part, so many in cabinets. Everything you see here is two deep, meaning there is another entire row of books behind them.
Here is a very very small peak at the back row.
There's tons of books that aren't in any of these pictures because I can't even take pictures of as I'm not going to unload all these shelves just for this post, but here are some old pics of the cabinets before they filled up and then doubled.
and finally, what started it all . . . actual comics. This is an empty office I'm using in my building. They're all full and there are two more small boxes I'm working on. I've got this a bit under control where I'm filling only about 1-2 short boxes a year . . . very close to pulling the plug on single issues. Some I just can't do until they end the run.

Erik, this is incredible. Such an amazing collection! I hope you get your extra room soon, and look forward to the day you can share more pictures with us!

Thanks for sharing pictures Erik!
Did you read Sweet Tooth? I loved it till the end where we got explanations and endings, which I'm still not sure how I feel about. Which does also makes me a little antsy about how Descender will end as I've loved the first half I've read.

I would love a nice set of oversize hardcovers of Tintin. Sadly, the hardcover set that is out there (and being reprinted as far as I can tell here) is standard size which shrinks the art and text to the point many people have complained they can't read the text. :(
I'm planning on getting Berserk 3 and Harrow County 4. I'm interested in Zero Hour and perhaps Timely's Greatest since it does include some Cap but not sure I want to spend the money on those right now.

Disappointing experience with Humanoids.
Below is a pic. These books I believe came out relatively close to each other. The titles are completely different and when I saw the two, it appears as if these are two separate stories with the same characters. They are indeed the exact same comic panel for panel.
I know some will say, should of looked at what you're buying. The truth is, I like to support genre and publishers as much as I can so I often pick up things I don't know about. I feel it is usually a safe bet that if two books contain different titles . . . they are usually going to be different. Feel like Humanoids pulled a fast one, which is disappointing. I usually love what Humanoids puts out and love supporting much of the work that comes out.

I don't think volume of a collection dictates amateur or not. In fact, one could argue the size of my collection is an indication of me being an amateur when I got started. When it comes to this hobby, buy what you like and educate yourself on what you're interested in.

I did. Sweet Tooth changed my mind on Lemire. Everyone was praising him for everything. I picked up Trillium . . . meh. I then grabbed Life A.D. . . . better, but not sure why everyone loves Lemire. Then I read Sweet Tooth and then others, but it was Sweet Tooth that made me too love Lemire. Descender IMO his best thus far and happily very different froths other stories I've read.
I see you and Blind gave it a three. I gave it a five. Not sure I'd stick with that rating, I may have been happy to read something different. If you go to any of your books read and look at your review, your friends reviews are below . . . cool good reads feature.

I guess I know what you mean. I have some books in my collection I will never read again or am reluctant to pick for the first time. Anyhow though, shelves are looking good with them on it ;-)
As for picks, I ordered a remarqued copy of Astro City HC Life in the Big City from Anderson personally, he offers that service. I'll send pics when I've received the book. Its the last HC book from Astro City which I am missing.
Also slowly transitioning from the Loeb/Sale Batman Omnibus to the Absolute Editions. Missing Dark Victory right now.
Also also I ordered the Providence HC box set with slipcase, pictures will be made as well.
That Humanoids mix up does suck. I haven't had that happen to me yet but it really shouldn't be the type of thing that happens. I ordered the Fourth Power OHC from Humanoids on my last order. The art is impressive and it's been in my wish list on IST for well over a year so I added it to my last order.
I don't know if anyone else picked up the Elric, Ruby Throne DLX book but I am looking forward to the second volume currently on its way to me.
I haven't read Lemire's Essex County which gets a fair bit of praise from folks. Totally with you on Descender being my favorite thing from him. His Moon Knight with Marvel was pretty good.
Karsten, while the omnibus containing all of the Loeb/Sale Batman material is certaintly more economical The Long Halloween deserves the Absolute treatment for sure. Absolutes are a better reading experience versus the omnibus format once you start getting close to or over 1,000 pages IMHO.
I read Batman Arkham Asylum for the first time this weekend. It was interesting to note it's still listed as the best selling DC graphic novel of all time (it was made and sold as a graphic novel vs single issues). I have a lot of respect for Grant Morrison and for Dave McKean. This was a very different Batman story perhaps mostly because the art style was a collage style mishmash with harder to make out scenes. It creates a looser style of story telling where you had to work to understand what was going on in places. It was worth the read but I'm not ready to rank it among the best Batman stories.
I didn't love the fact the book spine of the Absolute edition didn't have any text since I display my Absolutes book side out on the shelf. I had to flip this one around to the slip case side out so you could see text indicating which book it was. Other than that, from a production standpoint it was very well put together as it typical with DC Absolute books.

For me, Black Hammer is Lemire's best work with Descender close behind. Everything else before it was "meh" to me. Essex County (which you can read for free on graphitecomics.com) is good, but there's always an "emptiness" in his earlier writing, where only a little bit happens at a time. I do like that characterization and motivation is important to him.
I've never thought super highly of Arkham Asylum, perhaps because it really isn't a straight-forward Batman story. It's one of those that throws a loose plot at you and the reader just has to form it into a narrative that means something to them. You walk away not really sure what happened. I mainly bought the Absolute for McKean's art. It's supposed to be remastered so I'm curious to see the "colors pop" on it.

After a frustrating distribution issue that resulted in a couple of crushed floppies (which Diamond eventually resolved), finally finished up my initial read-through of the House of X/Powers of X series this weekend. All in all: an excellent story that I hope to see grow and progress.
Very first page of HoX #1 set a consistent tone to the series that i had a number of reactions to as I advanced through the issues. I’m very curious about where Hickman takes this story. There’s a particular plot point that I felt I never got a proper answer to, and it’ll honestly be a shame if Hickman never full-on addresses. If—and I hope, when—he does, this story will likely go down as one of my favorite X-tales yet.
There’s a number of coded “secret messages” spread throughout the series that I have yet to review. I look forward to the HC release to revisit the series and do some decoding after I have more time to digest my initial experience. I’m also looking forward to whatever extras the collected edition offers.
If anyone uses sites like Reddit, watch out: I purposely dropped out of a few key groups for this series and just rejoined them again. People are openly discussing plot elements without spoiler tags, which shouldn’t be too surprising, but still pisses me off. Not everyone jumps into floppies to read a story immediately, and after the last 12 weeks of trying to get the exact variant issues I wanted, I’m not too keen on doing that again anytime soon.
Also this month, added a few Spider-Man books to my collection: the MacFarlane omni, Straczynski vol. 1, Clone Saga Omni Vol 2, and got a killer deal on the Superior Spider-Man HCs off a seller on eBay.

Your description of HoX/Pox is no less than I expected from Hickman. The wait has been excruciating, getting glimpses of art and story elements, all while trying to remain in spoiler free territory. Since he's writing two of the follow-up books, hopefully he'll continue those unfinished threads you mentioned.
While I loved his FF run, I felt the Avengers run jumped around a bit, and didn't have quite the main follow-through on the plot. It almost felt he was stretching the story out (however, I loved New Avengers). Here's hoping X-Men adds up to be a more meaty and fulfilling story.

Hopefully you’re able to continue to steer clear of any spoilers until the HC drops. Like I said, rejoined some groups that I left specifically to stay spoiler free during HOX/POX, although might leave them again since Dawn of X is now rolling and I don’t want to buy any more individual issues. POX 6 had a reading order at the very end tying all 6 new x-series together, so I’m sure a DOX HC will be on the horizon soon enough.
Heard that exactly before about Hickman’s FF/Avengers run leading up to the 2015 Secret Wars event—starts strong and tapers off, but I’m still eager to read. Last year I spent a pretty penny collecting all related books and I’m excited to read it at some point, plus got Hickman’s signature in the process. He’s a great asset to Marvel, and I hope his work continues to shine.
I got my order from IST of Harrow County Library Edition and Berserk DLX vol 3 in quickly to avoid them selling out as they have the last couple times. :)
The longer a series goes on the more people drop out of purchasing the next volume right away so we'll see how quickly these go.

Consensus seems to be volume 4 is where the story gets going (DLX volume 1 contains volumes 1 thru 3). So you may need to read 1 and most of the second volume to have a good idea of what you think about it. :)
The three part animated film skips a good chunk of the material in the first book. The timeline skips around a bit at the beginning and they omit that material.

Berserk DLX edition 3 out of stock on IST. I'm sure more will come in at some point since this happened to both of the previous volumes. I wonder if Dark Horse has adjusted the size of their print runs because of the popularity of these books?

Oversize books that are scheduled to be released on IST tomorrow:
Aliens Defiance Library Edition vol 1
Batman by Snyder and Capullo omnibus vol 1
Bramble HC (Humanoids)
Life and Time of Scrooge McDuck by Don Rosa box set (content already included in the Complete Don Rosa box sets)
Lucifer Omnibus Vol 1
Sixth Gun DLX/HC vol 6

Nice! Have you read it before? Plan to get the rest of his run? It's a little less palatable when you read it as stand alone pieces, but once you read the entire thing it makes a lot more sense.
I've been picking up the Omnis even though I have the Absolutes.

It's funny, I've read bits and pieces in single issues or in trades, like RIP, but never the full run in order. So i'm excited to dig into it - planning on picking up the second volume afterwards. Hopefully I can get to that before the third one comes out.
Now I'm debating whether to pick up the Snyder New 52 omni, because I have that run in box sets

I think he could pull off some good material. I loved his God Country book he did pre-Marvel with Image.
Apparently, if something is listed on IST as a "Light Novel" and appears to be a manga, it's actually a novel and not a graphic novel. Lesson learned. :)

I learned that awhile ago with the The Shadow novels they have . . . But I liked it and ordered more.
Anybody else hoping for a Donny Cates' Cosmic Omnibus? I believe his whole cosmic run wraps up next month. Anyone read all these as a whole? Does it read as one big story? I've only read some of GR and all of the Inhumans one.
Thanos Wins
Cosmic Ghost Rider
The Death of the Inhumans
Silver Surfer: Black
Guardians of the Galaxy

Batman by Snyder arrived today. I haven’t broken the plastic to determine gutter loss, but visibly, I can concur concern with the glued binding.
I wonder if dc is doing that with all of their omnibus. I just got the Lucifer one but haven’t opened it to check.
If they do glued binding on all omnibus I’m going to rethink which ones I buy. Books that size really need sewn binding.

Looks IST has it listed for next week. Amazon has it listed for the 19th of November which makes it look like IST should have it for release on 12 Nov 19 as they are usually one week later than IST/comic book shops.
