01. A book with a title that doesn't contain the letters A, T or Y
I only had two possibilities when I scanned my TBR. Unwind or Where we Once Belonged. The latter is hard to find and my library doesn’t have it so it will probably be Unwind.
I've spent 2019 failing to fit Crooked Kingdom into any prompts or side challenges. I was going to read it in my freebie time at the end of the year but maybe I can save it for week one. Otherwise I also have Vicious and Vox. It's surprisingly hard to find titles without ATY!
For anyone looking for more ideas, here are some books that fit the prompt I'm considering: 1. A book with a title that doesn't contain the letters A, T or Y
I'm thinking of either Rich People Problems, Kingdom Cons, or Pride... I also have Delicious Foods and Recursion in my audiobook library, so those are options too. The first book of the year (I'm reading in order) feels like an important choice to get right!
I am planning Beloved by Toni Morrison for this prompt. This will be my first book by Morrison. It is also from my library,
so that helps. I had several to choose from the list above.
I'm considering these:Nemesis - Agatha Christie
Bluebird, Bluebird - Attica Locke
Dubliners - James Joyce
Poor Miss Finch - Wilkie Collins
Swimming Lessons - Claire Fuller
Oh, thank you so much for suggesting Dubliners! I've been meaning to read the whole thing after liking The Dead so much.

I've had this book for a few years now. Time to read it!
Annie wrote: "Dana wrote: "I plan to read, Dirt for this one...and I actually had a few options!"... just so you know, Dirt has a t in it!"
Haha! Mom brain! Thank you...wrong prompt!
I actually plan to read Blood Echo for this one!
1. What are you reading for this category? My options are:
Kindred
1Q84
W ciemność
Po piśmie
Król Bólu
Szkice piórkiem
If I would disregard subtitles there would be couple of more viable options:
Imperium korupcji: korupcja w Rosji i Królestwie Polskim w latach 1861-1917
SPQR: A History of Ancient Rome
Ship Fever: Stories
Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch
Neuroscience: A Mathematical Primer
Źle urodzone. Reportaże o architekturze PRL-u
But I think I will stick to the first six options ;)
2. Was it difficult to find titles that fit?
Nah, it was very easy, I just looked through my tbr to find fitting titles
Jackie wrote: "For a non-fiction option, I think I'll go for Psychic Blues."That has a Y in it. Easily done though.
Next year i am going to try to read in the right week and comment on the threads moreI only have one on my TBR for this category
Indexing
for anyone who hasn't read them I can recommend both Circe and Middlesex
Chrissy wrote: "I'm thinking of either Rich People Problems, Kingdom Cons, or Pride... I also have Delicious Foods and Recursion in m..."Delicious Foods was amazing. It certainly wasn’t a happy happy joy book, but it was memorable, and the ending was satisfying.
I was surprised at how many options I found on my TBR! I’m a little afraid I’m just not “seeing” the offending letter so let me know if I missed one :-)A few of my possibles:
Follow Her Home
Borne
Sip
Blood Bond
Neurocomic
Moonglow
Skin
Finding Nouf
I found a lot of options in by TBR list, so I decided to narrow it down by only considering titles with more than one word. In Cold Blood (likely my choice since it also fits with a personal challenge)
Sing, Unburied, Sing
Purple Hibiscus
Six of Crows
Red Rising
Spinning Silver
Her Smoke Rose Up Forever
When I'm Gone
Song of Solomon
Rebel Queen
Bird Box
In Farleigh Field
Trying to stick mainly to my physical and Kindle TBRs, so my choices are:44
Binge
Demo
Disobedience
Enduring Love
Four Corners
Girl Up
Going Down
Less
Microserfs
Moxie
No Logo
Open House
When I'm Gone
Where or When
WOOF!

was by far the BEST book I've read this year! It's Secret Life of Pets meets the Zombie Apocalypse, it made me laugh out loud so many times, (but it also made me cry, darn it LOL).

I think I'm going to read Spinning Silver for this prompt to kick off my year. I will also be able to knock off the Popsugar prompt for a book with gold, silver, or bronze in the title.
I have been through my TBR and those are the books that quallify:Fuse by Julianna Baggott
Besieged by Rowena Cory Daniells
Nod by Adrian Barnes
Seven Princes by John R. Fultz
Beloved by Toni Morrison
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
Heir of Novron by Michael J. Sullivan
Rise of Empire by Michael J. Sullivan
Dust by Hugh Howey
Spellslinger by Sebastien de Castell
I have no idea what to choose
Spinning Silver is SUCH a good read! I plan on fitting Uprooted somewhere in my list next year because I enjoyed Spinning Silver so much.
Doing the ol' TBR and library survey, this is what I've come up with so far:Redburn by Herman Melville
Providence by Caroline Kepnes
Ship Fever: Stories by Andrea Barrett
World's End by T. Coraghessan Boyle
Omoo by Herman Melville
Lord Jim by Joseph Conrad
Vile Bodies by Evelyn Waugh
Home Fire by Kamila Shamsie
Snobs by Julian Fellowes
Oil! by Upton Sinclair
I think I'll be reading Origin by Dan Brown - trying to fill all the prompts from my physical and ebook TBR this year...
I am going to read Wonder for this category. I have had it on my shelf for a while and it was already suggested in the prompt nomination process so this prompt was not difficult to fill at all! Also happy it is a nice short read, looking forward to it!
My IRL book club is reading Becoming for January. It is the perfect fit for this prompt. I am so excited to start it on January 1.
I've had Laura Restrepo's Delirium on my TBR list for some time. There are a whole load of other books called Delirium!
1984House Rules
Behind Closed Doors
Killing Floor
Love, Rosie
See Me
these were a few of my choices but had to go with Life of Pi
I was surprised by how many options I had on my "up next" shelf.Gus
Wicked Need
Red Queen
Mrs. Kimble
Becoming
Wool Omnibus
Starting the challenge early. After being thoroughly disappointed in Spinning Silver and abandoning it, I’m going with Chernobyl 01:23:40: The Incredible True Story of the World's Worst Nuclear Disaster (sans subtitle).
Chernobyl by Frederik Pohl, Midnight in Chernobyl: The Untold Story of the World's Greatest Nuclear Disaster, Voices from Chernobyl: The Oral History of a Nuclear Disaster or Chernobyl: The History of a Nuclear Catastrophe (again discarding subtitles) are good choices.
For my first read with this group, I plan to read Less by Andrew Sean Greer. Actually, I think this challenge will have me reading more.

Chernobyl has a Y in it, though, so none of the titles containing it would count toward the challenge.
I actually had a bunch on my TBR. Here are the ones I don’t think I saw listed already if anyone is looking for more ideas. 11/22/63
Heroine
Red Queen
Invisible Emmie
We Sold Our Souls
Skim
Cujo
Vox

2. Was it difficult to find titles that fit?
Not particularly. Like others, I just went through my TBR list and found a few books that fit the prompt, then chose the one I wanted to read the most!
