A fun horror which has the same intensity and urgency as a thriller.

Viburnum (hiatus) My review of Romanov Romanov by Nadine Brandes by Nadine Brandes.

So this was a retelling of Anastasia's story (with a magical spin on it!) and as expected, it was pretty heavy and poignant. There were some aspects of it that I felt were lacking, but all in all, an enjoyable read :)

Cameron Smith (cameronwaynesmith) | -16 comments My review of Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman

Norse Mythology won’t deliver the greatest story you’ll ever read, but it’s still an exceptional book and resource. A must read for anyone interested on the topic.

PattyMacDotComma | 3297 comments Why does Australia treat refugees on Manus almost as badly as POWs were treated on WW2's infamous Burma Railway? Inexcusable!
No Friend But the Mountains: Writing from Manus Prison by Iranian Kurd refugee Behrouz Boochani is already winning awards.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9973 comments I really enjoyed The Kookaburra Creek Cafe, Sandie Docker's first novel, so I was pleased that my library had her latest, The Cottage at Rosella Cove. I certainly wasn't disappointed. I think I'd like to live in Rosella Cove if Kookaburra Creek is full up.
