An additional Annual Challenge for 2018 - A-Z

Number 14 completed. :)
I- Read a book about an INTERESTING woman - The Wife's Tale by Christine Wells.
Both of the main female protagonists were indeed very interesting! I loved learning about Delaney's very colourful life and how she overcame many challenges that came her way through Liz's reading of her memoirs. :) 5 stars. :)

[b..."
Congrats Jennifer! Love seeing Matthew Reilly on your list, he's one of my favourite authors!

All done - now I can kick back and wait for the 2019 challenges.
A - Read a book by an AUTHOR from a country you've never visited

B - Read a book which you BORROWED

C - Read a book with a CAT on the cover

D - Read a book which has DARK themes

E - Read a book with an EMERALD cover

F - Read a book which is FIRST in a series

G - Read a book from a GENRE you don’t normally read

H - Read a HISTORICAL book set in two different time periods

I - Read a book about an INTERESTING woman

J - Read a book where the main character goes on a JOURNEY

K - Read a book with a KNIFE on the cover

L - Read a book which is your LATEST purchase

M - Read a book where MAGIC is a main part

N - Read a book with a NUMBER in the title

O - Read a book with a ONE word title

P - Read a book where the author uses a PSEUDONYM

Q - Read a book with a QUEEN either on the cover or in the text

R - Read a book which has been RECOMMENDED

S - Read a book with one of the four SEASONS in the title

This was a good choice for me as I really enjoyed the characters and humour. Though the cat does not take up much space on the cover, he is a larger than life personality in the book.
C - Read a book with a CAT on the cover:
A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman - 4★

It wasn't the right book for me. My 2 and 1/2 star review

P: Author uses a pseudonym -

P: Author uses a pseudon..."
You are going well Mary. Same as me with only 3 left to read and still plenty of time.

It looks like I am unlikely to complete this challenge (I'm not even half way through the books I chose). I've had a lot going on which has meant less reading time this year, and I've kept reading books outside the challenges I've joined. I'll probably carry over the A-Z list into next year since I still want to read all of the books.
Bad luck Kira - but life often gets in the way, so don't worry :) You might be able to adapt the ones you don't get to to next year's challenges :)

Q - Read a book with a QUEEN either on the cover or in the text
My review of

Her Royal Spyness by Rhys Bowen - 4 ★

E - Read a book with an EMERALD cover

Yes, Odette. The end is in sight, yay!

I've got 10 to read now, and it'll be touch and go as to whether I can finish I think...
C - Read a book with a CAT on the cover - A Scone To Die For by H.Y. Hanna. Highly entertaining, and a light-hearted yet, rather good cozy mystery storyline! 5 stars. :)

T - Read a book which has lingered on your TBR for too long - Dexter's Final Cut by Jeff Lindsay 4★
It had been on my TBR since 2013!
Anyway looking at this list with only 1 to go and wondering "Have I read enough books this year, and have enough time left, to do this list again?" Hmmm - might make for an interesting Friday perusing through my books!

The Keeper of Lost Things by Ruth Hogan
Lovely book. 5 out of 5. Review here.

Sagaland by Richard Fidler and Kari Gislason earned 2.5 ★ from me. It was a nice introduction to Iceland's Saga's & history. Iceland is not a country I have any real previous knowledge of so at times that meant I didn't really have anything to relate the information to in the way I might for British or Australian history. I enjoyed the pace of the book & the person connection of Kari Gislason's life with the characters & contact of the historical backdrop.
