You can mix the readings.

Can I borrow your smiley? I'm afraid I'm going to need it...

Anita Reads | 1677 comments Not to bring you down or anything, I think Germany will win tonight. They've looked super good.
I do think you'll go on to the next round, Portugal will have to win with a lot to go on.

Anyway, how great has this world cup been. I don't remember seeing any world cup having so many goals ever. I love it. Yesterday I missed out on 10 minutes of the game between Argentina and Nigeria, and it was already 1-1.

Actually, I'm hoping Germany really kicks ass tonight! I haven't done any math yet, but my sister was watching last game and USA has to loose 0:2 with Germany and Portugal has to win 3:0 to be able to move to the next round.

Is not impossible. But it resembles the 2002 world cup too much to my taste. Curious enough, Portugal and USA were in the same group as well back then.

message 63: by Anita Reads (new)

Anita Reads | 1677 comments Denmark didn't make the cut this year, so I haven't had anyone I REALLY wanted to win. I love when underdogs does well. I wouldn't have expected Costa Rica to go through to next round, but I think it's awesome that they did.

PLAYING CHAMPIONSHIP: Group stage winners updated on message #3

message 65: by Diane L (new)

Diane L I am sitting here watching the Colombia/Uruguay game and updating challenges for a book finished this evening. I got all excited because the author's last name starts with a 'U'. "Got the tough one knocked out quick!", I think -- and then realize I have to read another 'U' for the USA too.

Beth (jasonverlander) | 1567 comments Would it be okay if I picked 11 players (one for each position) and did a spell-it-out challenge of their names for step 1 and then do regular step 2? Or would you rather we just do the options listed?

Those pesky 'U's are a killer, aren't they? I swear, when I start writing, I am going to give all of my novels a title beginning with U. That way I can guarantee that any challenge addict in the world will read them!

You could also trow couple of Ys and Xs just in case. :P

Audrey Jane | 1815 comments Finished! I avoided the 'U' by taking the other options. 'N' was also difficult for me, and I wasn't in the mood for Neil Gaiman. This was a fun challenge :)
