Glad to know I'm not alone. ^_^ Seriously, I think I would've cried if it'd turned out I'd picked for the wrong person. I just got home from a very long day of work and classes and I'm practically dead on my feet. But I didn't want my pickee to have to wait until tomorrow for her recs so, to quote Tommy Pickles "A baby's gotta do what a baby's gotta do!"

~KarenH~ | 11344 comments Hi Ab2y!

I had a good time picking for you! Since your TBR is HUGE, almost everything I recommended is already on it – I only came up with a couple that aren’t.

1. April Fools Day (April 1)Simply Irresistible is a great start to a really fun series, or I Suck at Girls, which is just plain funny, and a little sweet, too.

2. April Showers bring May FlowersThe Witness is classic Nora Roberts, romantic suspense at its best, and one of the main characters loves to garden. Or, Flowers in the Sky – I haven’t read this, it’s right off your TBR, but the cover is lovely and the storyline sounds intriguing.

3. U.S. Tax Day (April 15)Fifty Shades Darker – you read the first book in the series and gave it 5 stars, so why not continue? Or The Look of Love – another first book in a very good series, another story where he has more money than he knows what to do with and she has none.

4.Major League Baseball Opening DayChanging The Game, about a pro baseball player - you liked the first book, and I thought the second one was just as good if not better; or Flat-Out Sexy, which is set in the world of NASCAR racing. Or, for something a little different, Exclusively Yours takes place on a family vacation in the wilds of New Hampshire.

5. April’s birthstone: Diamond – I drew a complete blank here, but fortunately you had several on your TBR that fit the category, so I picked a couple that had good ratings and sounded interesting – New Pride and Diamond Eyes.

6. Earth Day (April 22) Extreme Exposure involves illegal dumping and environmental damage by a corporation, or two different options with Hot Shots wilderness firefighters as the main characters are Chasing Fire and Wild Heat (you’ve read the third book in this series, but not the first).

7. Patriot’s Day One of my absolute favorite romantic suspense series is Maya Banks’ KGI series about a family of paramilitary/mercenaries, and the first book is one of my favorites in the series – The Darkest Hour. Or if you’d rather go paranormal, you could always continue the BDB series with Lover Revealed, or check out Lara Adrian’s Midnight Breeds series, which starts with Kiss of Midnight.

8. Drop Everything and Read (April 12) Hmmm, how to limit myself??? Oh, well, you get a few choices here - things I wanted to recommend but didn't know where else to put them! :) Do Over is a sweet love story by Mari Carr about a couple rediscovering the passion in their relationship after 25 years of marriage – just wonderful. Quinn's Hart – I just finished this a couple of days ago, and it was so good! Mine to Possess – you’ve read and enjoyed the first 3 books, why not continue? And finally, A Reason To Believe – a ghost, a psychic and a jaded cop all rolled into a wonderful love story.

I hope you find something here that interests you – if not, let me know and I’ll be happy to dive in again!

Happy Reading!

Penney (pschoener) | 3553 comments Hi Ruth Ann! With 800+ books on your TBR I should've stuck to recs from just there, but...why would I do that?! Half the fun is finding something new and you're missing some great books, series and authors on that list of yours. The hard part wasn't finding the recs (I had far too many), it was fitting them into the categories. But that's the other half of the fun :-)

1. April Fool's Day ~ You have nothing by Molly Harper and she's alway good for a laugh. And One Last Thing ... is a great place to start. Beguiling the Beauty by Sherry Thomas is the first of a great trilogy. I think you'd like all three.
And One Last Thing ... by Molly HarperBeguiling the Beauty (Fitzhugh Trilogy, #1) by Sherry Thomas

2. April Showers Bring May Flowers ~
Ok, here's my first stretch, but the book is worth it. The heroine in Son of the Morning is named Grace St. John and St. John's Wort is a flowering plant. :) The book is also great! Or from your TBR, try The Next Always. I just finished this trilogy and loved it. Three simply and beautifully told love stories.
Son of the Morning by Linda HowardThe Next Always (Inn BoonsBoro, #1) by Nora Roberts

3. U.S. Tax Day ~
Both of my choices deal with an inheritance...of a sort. Dark Lover (you gotta start the BDB series!) has an inheritance of title. But The Reluctant Dom has an inheritance of a completely different sort... *edited after looking at Dee's picks, lol!* I'm adding Naked in Death to this category because I LOVE the series, love Eve and Roarke and he's rich, so it fits :)
Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #1) by J.R. WardThe Reluctant Dom by Tymber DaltonNaked in Death (In Death, #1) by J.D. Robb

4. Major League Baseball Opening Day ~
This was easy, here's two great sports related books: It Had to Be You (gotta love Susan Elizabeth Phillips!) and Slow Heat.
It Had to Be You (Chicago Stars, #1) by Susan Elizabeth PhillipsSlow Heat (Pacific Heat, #2) by Jill Shalvis

5. April's Birthstone: Diamond ~
Here comes that stretching again. The heroine's "people" in A Hunger Like No Other are attracted to glittery jewels, especially diamonds. Beyond that it's a great book and the beginning of a great series. Slightly more obvious and also the beginning of a very good series, Jewels of the Sun.
A Hunger Like No Other (Immortals After Dark, #2) by Kresley ColeJewels of the Sun (Gallaghers of Ardmore / Irish Trilogy, #1) by Nora Roberts

6. Earth Day ~
I'd also like to introduce you to another great author, Nalini Singh. Environment is a concern in her psy-changeling world which begins with Slave to Sensation. Or try the environmental changes in Angelfall. I loved both of these books.
Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling, #1) by Nalini SinghAngelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1) by Susan Ee

7. Patriot's Day ~
Cat and Bones are a must couple to meet and they are the epitome of action packed, Halfway to the Grave. If you'd like some good ol' para military romantic suspense then The Darkest Hour is an excellent choice.
Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress, #1) by Jeaniene FrostThe Darkest Hour (KGI, #1) by Maya Banks

8. Drop Everything and Read ~
I've chosen two five star reads (for me) that are both controversial, but for very different reasons. If you go into both knowing not to expect a romance you'll enjoy them more. Outlander I recommend every chance I get and is my all time favorite read. But it's more of a historical novel and it's beauty lies in the realistic details of the past. Comfort Food is the beautifully told story about a very taboo subject. Come to think of it, I also recommend it every chance I get :)
Outlander (Outlander, #1) by Diana GabaldonComfort Food by Kitty Thomas

I hope you find something on this list that appeals to you and that you enjoy reading!

Sassafrass (sass-a-frass) | 4192 comments Hi Regina! I had a great time going through your shelves. We have a lot of books in common. I hope you like your picks. If there are ANY that you don't like and want me to pick again, just let me know!

1. April Fools Day (April 1) Paging Dr. Hot by Sophia Knightly --This is my rec for light hearted. It's really cute!

As for tricksters both of these books on your TBR have heroes who practiced deception with the heroine. The Dom Who Loved Me (Masters and Mercenaries, #1) by Lexi Blake and Wild Card (Elite Ops, #1) by Lora Leigh --even better Lora Leigh is one your favorite authors I noticed.

2. April Showers bring May Flowers Secrets of a Summer Night (Wallflowers #1) by Lisa Kleypas -such a great series and already on your TBR and Vision in White (Bride Quartet, #1) by Nora Roberts --this would be a new series for you but it's cute book and you've liked other Nora Roberts book.

3. U.S. Tax Day (April 15) Both of these have main characters with money problems: Simply Irresistible (Lucky Harbor, #1) by Jill Shalvis
Hot Head (Head, #1) by Damon Suede

4.Major League Baseball Opening Day Recommend a book with outdoors as a setting. Or involves outdoor sports/activity.
I'm quite the fan of sports romance. Changing The Game (Play By Play, #2) by Jaci Burton --you read the first one and seemed to like it. Check this one out. I didn't think I'd like the heroine in this after what she did in the first book but she really changed my thinking!
The Game of Love by Jeanette Murray --I have this on my TBR too, maybe you'd like to Buddy read?

5. April’s birthstone: Diamond This wasn't easy, but I was able to find two books in your TBR. Heartstrings and Diamond Rings by Jane Graves and Fade to Black (Deadlines & Diamonds, #1) by Morgan Kearns which is in the Deadlines & Diamonds series.

6. Earth Day (April 22)I love cowboys/ranchers so I went with that. Check out Rocky Mountain Heat (Six Pack Ranch, #1) by Vivian Arend and this is a series you've not read. If you like hunky cowboys too, check this family out. It's a favorite series of mine and Long Hard Ride (Rough Riders, #1) by Lorelei James is the start of the series.

7. Patriot’s Day in observance of the anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord, the first battles of the American Revolutionary War Here are two books featuring some men in the military and both from your TBR! Infatuation (A Little Harmless Military Romance, #1) by Melissa Schroeder and Unleashing the Storm (ACRO, #2) by Sydney Croft . I've enjoyed both of these books. And it looks like you've liked both of these authors in the past.

8. Drop Everything and Read (April 12) D.E.A.R I'm not sure what you're in the mood to read. I don't think I can give you something completely new since you really do read a wide variety of romances. I love it! But, I can recommend some of my favorite books that you haven't read yet. You had Too Hot To Touch (Rising Star Chef, #1) by Louisa Edwards in your TBR which I thought was such a cute book and a great start to a new series.
Sophie Oak is one of my all-time favorite authors. So, I recommend either Small Town Siren (Texas Sirens, #1) by Sophie Oak or Three to Ride (Nights in Bliss, Colorado, #1) by Sophie Oak both the first in her series and I absolutely love them both.
Looking to GLBTQ fiction, I loved Circle of Change by Laney Cairo which was about a Trans teen. Such a great story.
An author that you've also liked in the past, Kele Moon has a great M/M/F romance with BDSM involved, Beyond Eden (Eden, #1) by Kele Moon --It's dark but so very, very good.

Ok, that's it. I hope you can find something you like. :)

We didn't have many books in common, so I hope you like your picks. If not, let me know and I'll try again.

1. April Fools Day (April 1)
Playing for Keeps by R.L. Mathewson - the only book I've read on your shelves. Definitely humorous and started great. Just had a little bump with the conflict. You might also like Seduction and Snacks by Tara Sivec (you've got book 2 on your TBR, but you really need to read this first). Kind of a raunchy humor.

2. April Showers bring May Flowers
Fated by S.H. Kolee has a flower on the cover and is on your TBR. You might also consider Amaryllis by Jayne Castle (although I would understand if you got the non-flower version of the cover) is a nice paranormal romance (PNR) where people have powers after settling another planet. My favorite author.

3. U.S. Tax Day (April 15)
Hearts in Darkness by Laura Kaye mentions the heroine is an accountant. Or if you're in the mood for a humorous embezzlement story (with an adorable Great Dane puppy) check out Hot by Julia Harper

4. Major League Baseball Opening Day
Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie spends some time at little league games. One of my all-time favorite books as I just love the characters and wouldn't mind eating some Italian food with the group.

5. April’s birthstone: Diamond
Finding a diamond was tough. The heroine in this book is Esther Diamond - Disappearing Nightly by Laura Resnick. It is an urban fantasy where the hero/heroine are normal humans, but get mixed up with magical creatures.

6. Earth Day (April 22)
I'm stretching this a bit, but pickpockets work with their hands - How to Lead a Life of Crime by Kirsten Miller. This sounded pretty cool and I added it to my wishlist.

7. Patriot’s Day
Both these are fast paced and both heroes used to be in the military. Mystery Man by Kristen Ashley has the most alpha male I've ever seen and I wanted to clock him for 3/4's of the book, but it was hard to put down with everything happening. Or check out Crazy Hot by Tara Janzen. I think it wins the bet for the most sex everyplace except a bed.

8. Drop Everything and Read (April 12)
One of my favorite PNR books - Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison. Major alpha male, but strong heroine and just the right touch of humor. Or something closer to a mystery, The Spellman Files by Lisa Lutz. This is the oddest format I've ever read, but the story pulled me right into it.

Playing for Keeps (A Neighbor from Hell, #1) by R.L. Mathewson Seduction and Snacks (Chocolate Lovers, #1) by Tara Sivec Fated by S.H. Kolee Amaryllis (St. Helen's, #1) by Jayne Castle Hearts in Darkness by Laura Kaye Hot by Julia Harper Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie Disappearing Nightly (Esther Diamond, #1) by Laura Resnick How to Lead a Life of Crime by Kirsten Miller Mystery Man (Dream Man, #1) by Kristen Ashley Crazy Hot (Steele Street, #1) by Tara Janzen Dragon Bound (Elder Races, #1) by Thea Harrison The Spellman Files (The Spellmans #1) by Lisa Lutz

non-flower version - Amaryllis (St. Helen's, #1) by Jayne Castle

Ack! Dee, those are some awesome picks. My TBR, which I like to keep somewhat manageable, might suffer some bloating.... I've got my eye on the following:

Gone Girl - my April bookclub book, so will definitely hit this up
Naked in Death - okay, so even tho I love the premise of the book, I've been really ignoring its existence for... well, since it's been published XD. Only because I have a like/hate relationship with Nora Roberts, and I don't want to be damaged further by her.... but I will try it out, I promise. ha. plus the thought of an Irish brogue on the audiobook is delishhhh.
The Diamond Secret: A Retelling of "Anastasia" - maybe not this month, but TBR'd
Caught Running - sigh.. my guilty pleasure. boys in tights.
BR - I could do Round Ireland with a Fridge (I also rec'd this to Jim, my pickee :) or Heartstrings and Diamond Rings

message 137: by Ty (new)

Ty | 1943 comments Photojim! This was seriously one of the hardest picks to do... working without a TBR. I really hope you like some of these!

1. April Fools Day
The Unidentified Redhead - I see you liked Wallbanger, so this might be good to try. Lighthearted and definitely funny. Reversal on the May-December romance.
Round Ireland with a Fridge - I've been told there are many LOL moments in this one. Dee rec'd it to me this month, so there might be a buddy read involved!

2. April Showers bring May Flowers
The Duke's Tattoo - flowers on the cover!
Flowers from the Storm - an oldie but a goodie

3. U.S. Tax Day (April 15)
On Dublin Street - both the H/h have enough money to make you want to stab them. but the story is good. :D
Defying the Odds - diner waitress meets big time UFC fighter. Commence with lots of "ain'ts".

4. Major League Baseball Opening Day
Midnight Rainbow - crawling through the jungle escaping Central American drug warlords is tough work. But not if you're the fiesty heroine of this book. Jane has always been one of my favorite girl heroes.
Exclusively Yours - big time family camping trip!

5. April’s birthstone
The Fault in Our Stars - Someone mentioned that stars twinkle like diamonds, so I borrowed their idea! I have to invest in some kleenex stock, but I can do a buddy read with this.
Diamond Bay (sequel to Midnight Rainbow....it fit, I was desperate)

6. Earth Day
Lumberjack In Love - just finished this for March pifm br, but cute, quick, and fun. Lumberjack mountain man dude makes fun of the city girl
Baby Love - sweet, syrupy story about a railroad bum who's secretly a millionaire rancher. Seriously.

7. Patriot’s Day
The Darkest Hour - emotional!
Angelfall - by far one of my favorite YA fantasy/apocalyptic novels of 2012. Action packed and will keep you on the edge. I read it in one sitting!

8. Drop Everything and Read
Archangel's Kiss - a favorite PNR/UF series of mine. You've read the first, please please continue!
Magic Bites - no, really, my favorite UF series - although the first book is just okay, the 2nd book is better, and the third book KERSPLODES in your face with epic awesomeness. I'm convinced the 6th book, due this July, will bring about world peace.
Daughter of Smoke & Bone - Laini Taylor does lyrical prose like nobody's business. Great book.
