Welcome Colin. I love Rankin and Follett. I also really like Tana French. Here's a question for you. What do you think of Clancy and MacBride, Irish and Scottish, I know.

Susan May (susanmaywriter) I was recommended to come here by the lovely Christine Terrell who was kind enough to review my latest book kindly. I've just discovered what a fantastic place Good Reads is. I've been hanging on Twitter the past few years and it's now filled with spam and people aren't talking. I've always had a profile here, but this place looked too huge to work out. Now I have, I love the community feel. And, of course, I am an avid reader. So thanks for the lovely welcome and the opportunity here. I'm a dark thriller author from Perth Western Australia having some success as an Indie. Do come say hi on my page if you like or here. Thanks for the warm welcome.

I would say try this one:Yeager's Law The author's a self-promoting jackass, but the book itself packs a ton of action, some romance, and a little suspense. Or so I'm told...

You'll get here more than enough rec. As for fantasy - one of our authors has recently published a new one and those who read it loved it (I don't like fantasy so no idea) Either go to the David's author page (he's the one post # 5842) or here are the links to his new one: Eye of Dominion and the previous from the same series: Alloria (Nr. 1).

Though in this group will be reading his thriller (Imperfect Strangers)

Brigitta Moon (brigittamoon) | 30 comments Hi everyone. I'm Brigitta from Maryland. I've lived there all my life, but I don't enjoy the colder seasons. I love Florida but just haven't figured out how to relocate my home, too much stuff to move :). I'm a nurse who loves to work behind the double door units, ED, PACU, ICU. But, what I really crave is to be a full time well read author. Oddly my favorite reads are Mystery and Thriller, but I tend to write racier novels, novels that skirt the erotic genre but don't fit neatly into it. They sport a little mystery and thriller. My goal is to write an on the edge of your seat thriller that even I would run out and buy on it's release date. In the interim I read Mysteries and Thrillers because I love them.

Amber Martingale For all the new people in this Group who may see me around: I have very weird musical tastes.

Why not call it it weird when you have STRIPPER by LORDS OF ACID ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQE_z... ) preceded by a montage of clips called RHAPSODY OF FIRE VS. BEETHOVEN ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7oQKN... ) and followed by LONG COOL WOMAN IN A BLACK DRESS by THE HOLLIES ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLVnm... )?

*Cue Twilight Theme music* I just watched Long Cool Woman, like, less than an hour ago. Mine was preceded by:

My Sharona (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BR2Jt...)

Wipeout, American Band, & Wild Things. (60's mood today.) Ended by: Squeeze Box (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSYgR...) and Love Shack (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SOry...)

I love books that keep you wondering until the end, a book that won't let you put it down, the equivalent of a roller coaster. As long as the book isn't horror I'll try it. I'm already afraid of the dark :)

When people learn that I have authored a book and I'm a nurse, their first response is, "You must have a lot of stories to tell, working in a hospital." I skirted the hospital scene in one book. I have another that I haven't published. The thing is, reading and writing is my escape into another world, a different adventure. You spend a lot of time with your characters. I spend all day with doctors, nurses and patients at work. I want to spend time with different people and happenings in story land.

One other thing, I don't know how long you've been a nurse but before computers made the scene there were narrative nursing notes. They were essentially stories about what happened during your shift. If you did those, I'm quite sure there's a story that can roll easily off your fingertips :)
