My publisher will occasionally send me reviews to read and I will look at those, but beyond that I see almost none of them. Haters are going to hate, trolls are going to be trolls, there is nothing you can do about them, except not feed them. (less)

Felina Margetty I loved your Anita Blake Vampire series . I always thought Hollywood dumbed down your ideas for buffy. And angel would have never happened without Jean-Claude. Sucker Punch saved me during covid. The theme of prejudice against supernaturals in a close-knit community with some real-world parallels to bias and fear. The pacing feels tighter and more focused. It was like early days when Anita was primarily a vampire executioner and animator. I don’t have a question as such, I just wanted to say thanks as I have read your books on and off over the years and they feel like something I can turn back to get the world off my mind. I must admit to being a speculative fiction fan. Cyber, sci fi but I got your book Night seer just before Snow Crash and Stepenson lead me down a different path. That said your book had a big impact on me. I thought you really understood the question of why we do things. My moms copy is where I started with you writing Keleios really appealed to me. Marked by prophecy and a demonic curse, pursuing vengeance against the witch who murdered her mother.
I love the concise, evocative descriptions that integrate magical elements directly into character experience. Tying sorcery to raw emotion through sharp metaphors, making abstract powers feel visceral and grounded. It’s kismet that you came up whilst I was reading the discussion board because just the other day I paged through an old copy of Night seer and remembered.
The novel's strength lies in its portrayal of moral ambiguity in my view. The flawed protagonist. Keleios wields immense power yet grapples with inner corruption and prejudice, explored via frank internal reflection and dialogue. This creates layered characters whose enhancements amplify vulnerabilities.
Additionally, treating magic as a rigorous, rule-bound system akin to scientific principles encourages clarity in world-building. Emerging cyber punk and sci-fi writers can draw from this to craft believable tech or alien logics that support narrative depth without overwhelming readers. Wow
I think Nightseer’s prose added emotional authenticity and efficient storytelling. An understated guide to blending innovative concepts with human-centered drama, proving that strong fiction thrives on relatable inner struggles amid extraordinary settings. Aspiring writers of any genre would benefit from studying its balanced approach.
Structured speculative systems and human frailty intersecting amid high-stakes worlds.
