Iroh The best book series in my oppinion is Joseph Delaney's
book series "The last apprentice." If you read it, you'd laugh hysterically at anyone who says otherwise.

message 2: by Alice (new)

Alice Dinizo The Shaara's books on the United States' Civil War
should be on this list!

DJ Harris This is a GREAT Listopia!

The Best Book Series Ever has to be the Doomsday Diaries series by Aaron B. Powell !

- Doomsday Diaries I
- Doomsday Diaries II: New World Order
- Doomsday Diaries III: Luke the Protector
- Doomsday Diaries IV: Luke and the Lion

I think there are many historical and classic books that would be beneficial to have on this list, but consider the average age of the people on this site. Seems like everything is Hunger Games, Vampires, and Young Adult Romance. Not that there's anything wrong with that, I read all those genres of books too, but it's not the ONLY things I read, lol!

Good Comment, BTW!

I've heard nothing but good things about The Last Apprentice / Wardstone Chronicles by Joseph Delaney , author (and Patrick Arrasmith, Illustrator).

I think they would make a good gift for my brother-in-law, but he detests it when books/media portray witch's in any kind of negative light. It looks like these books may do that. Any advice?

message 6: by Dustin (new)

Dustin Oh yes, Ted Dekker's Circle series, with a doubt!!

message 7: by [deleted user] (last edited Jul 11, 2013 11:03PM) (new)

Melinda Marchetta's Lumatere Chronicles Trilogy is the best in my opinion followed by VA

message 8: by L (new)

L Harry Potter,
Lord of the rings & Hobbit,
Twilight saga,
Narnia,
Mortal Instruments
...all AMAZING!!

message 9: by M.T. (new)

M.T. McGuire Mwah a hahahahahaaargh! I can't believe I'm the only person who has voted for Terry Pratchett's Discworld Series.

Great list though.

Cheers

MTM

message 10: by Beverly (last edited Dec 13, 2013 05:48PM) (new)

Beverly While it is a wonderful book, Black Beauty by Anna Sewell is not a series book and shouldn't be on this list. There are other lists more appropriate for this book.
Black Beauty

Ditto: The Incredible Journey

message 11: by Judy (new)

Judy Very poorly named list - most of these are names of individual books from within a series, not the name of the series, and many are repeated.

message 12: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten Not a very accurate list. Some are books from longer series and some aren't from series AT ALL!

message 13: by Matthew (new)

Matthew Brohn This should be divided into series and not books, the title of the list even suggests this. There are only two series that have the consistency in quality of books that deserve to be here. The Seven Realms series by Cinda Williams Chima, and The Last Apprentice by Joseph Delaney. I have been reading them since they stated coming out and the last book left me empty inside.

message 14: by Alana (new)

Alana There are not many trilogies I believe you do not understand what a trilogy means so I will provide a definition:
A group of three related novels, plays, films, etc.

Probably because the description (and the title), mentions the word 'series' as well. And a series doesn't have to be three books, which is undoubtedly why the Harry Potter Series Box Set is on number one...

message 16: by John (new)

John Tiesworth Judy wrote: "Very poorly named list - most of these are names of individual books from within a series, not the name of the series, and many are repeated."

AGREED! Rating series books then rating individually as well. I would like to see just the series ratings. I think Goodreads wants us voting for specific books though.

message 17: by Aquaria (new)

Aquaria Most of these aren't trilogies; they're series, because they go beyond 3 books. To be a trilogy, it should be 3 books *only.*

Probably becaus..."

Then don't title it with trilogies at all, because trilogies and series are not the same thing. To label a list with the appellation 'trilogies' then list series is like saying you have a list of roses, when it's a list of flowers.

It's confusing and misleading for those of us looking for trilogies.

What part of that is so difficult to comprehend?
