Oh well, it's a reading bonanz..."That always happens to me, Debi. It's either feast or famine!

No worries. Just wanted to make sure you weren't stressing out. :)

Grace was just asking Dee and Amy to read slow so that her books have time to get here. So you still have a bit of time. Dee has to finish, then Amy, then Grace.

Sounds like you should be okay, Grace? Hope your books get here soon.

Charity - That is certainly a sentiment worth noting and remembering. How are you liking the book? I have heard good things about it.

Sounds good, Dee. Hope you enjoy it.

Turns out that my Linwoood Barclay book is not really a stand alone, so I am waiting to get the preceding book from the library today or tomorrow. But I did just finish
The Wife, the Maid, and the Mistress for this challenge. WHOOHOO! The book was great, based on the true life disappearance of Judge Joe Crater in 1930, an event the precipitated the fall of Tammany Hall in NYC. It was well written and got me interested enough in this incident that I already ordered two other books about it from the library.
Dee you are UP!

Lyndi - In Cold Blood is one of my favorites.

That does seem weird, Susan. Usually futuristic books are more sci fi than alternate history, right?

And don't forget to leave your quotes
hereBTW - I can't believe it is August already either...this summer has really flown by.

Let's use our books this month to really add to our library of great quotes. Pick any quote you want, one that makes you laugh, cry, or one that you feel should be captured for eternity. I'm sure you can find one, but if not there is always page 46! I can't wait to see what we find in our library books.

That is what I am reading. A review book. :)

Sorry ladies, this weekend was both my dad's 84th birthday and my oldest son's 25th birthday. As a result, I did not get ANY reading done at all. I am just starting
The Wife, the Maid, and the Mistress by
Ariel Lawhon and
No Safe House by
Linwood Barclay. Since both were published in 2014, I will use whichever one I finish first. Let you know as soon as I finish.
Tien wrote: "ooh, Lyn M, you have to pick up The Passage! Awesome book! The second book, The Twelve, was also as epic!"I have been wanting to get to it ever since it came out. Need to bump it up.
The Boleyn Deceit by
Laura AndersenThe second book of the Boleyn King trilogy and it was just as good as the first one. Although this is alternate history, many of my history reading friends are really enjoying it, as am I. Laura Anderson does a wonderful job of keeping the actual historical characters and events true to themselves, yet inventing new characters and events that fit in seemlessly. A great story and I am looking forward to reading the last one next month. I give it more than 4 stars, but not quite 5.

I agree Lauren!

I'm already looking for my next book, too. :)
